Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Thinking of That Something After Being Well-fed (Please favorite, recommend, and vote)

”Hmm?” Wu Qianmin initially took a small bite, but in the next second, she couldn’t stop herself. In no time, an entire ”cabbage lotus” was devoured.

”Delicious, too delicious.”

A look of immense enjoyment appeared on her face: ”Clean and fresh, delicately elegant, rich aroma, thick soup, not oily or greasy, tender and melt-in-your-mouth, not like a delicacy, better than a delicacy! No, I need another one.”

Any guilt she felt was obliterated by the deliciousness, frivolous spending? No! This isn’t frivolous spending, it’s worth every penny!

”Burp...” Meanwhile, Lu Xiaobu let out a satisfied belch, put his chopsticks down, and said to Xu Yi, ”Not bad, I thought you couldn’t make it, but it turned out pretty good, here’s a reward of five thousand.”

”Uh... this...” Xu Yi was stunned, wasn’t it agreed that this meal was on me?

”He’s giving it, just take it,” Lu Hongbin shook his head with a wry smile. Xiaobu even rewarded his second brother; who are you to argue?

”Alright then,” Xu Yi resigned himself to the situation, what even is this!

”Nothing left? No more!” Wu Qianmin looked at the empty porcelain bowl and felt incredibly disappointed.

She turned and stared at Lu Xiaobu: ”Lu Xiaobu, didn’t you think of leaving one for me?”

”You said you weren’t eating,” Lu Xiaobu patted his stomach. ”I have one more in my bowl, take it!”

”Uhm...” Wu Qianmin stared at the last piece of cabbage in Lu Xiaobu’s bowl, caught in a dilemma.

That’s Lu Xiaobu’s eating bowl after all, surely there would be his saliva in it.

But if I don’t eat it, then there will be no more!

To eat or not to eat?

”If you’re not eating then, I...” Lu Xiaobu smacked his lips.

”Dream on.” Wu Qianmin quickly snapped up the cabbage and put it in her mouth.

Then her pretty face flushed to her neck—What am I doing?

No, just now Lu Xiaobu probably was going to throw it away, I’m just saving it, yes, that’s right.

Wu Qianmin found an excuse for herself that even she didn’t believe.

”Hehe, indirect kiss.” Lu Xiaobu looked at Wu Qianmin, his heart fluttering. This couldn’t be helped, who doesn’t think of that when full and warm!

”Hmph, be careful or I’ll bite you to death!” Wu Qianmin huffed, her face turning even redder.

”Bite?” Lu Xiaobu said with a meaningful tone.

”Lu Xiaobu, ah!” Wu Qianmin wasn’t naïve and instantly understood, she chased after Lu Xiaobu to hit him.

Lu Xiaobu started running: ”Big brother, I’m going to squander money!”

”Wait, Young Master Bu, can you permit me to cook and sell this dish?” Xu Yi suddenly asked with immense hope towards Lu Xiaobu’s retreating back. ”I guarantee it’ll make a huge profit!”

”Ask my brother.” The voice of Lu Xiaobu came back: ”You’re talking to a squanderer about making money, are you out of your mind?”

”I...” Xu Yi was speechless—what you said makes so much sense, I’m at a loss for words.

”Xu Yi, can this dish really make money? Though it tastes great, the cost is high, if the price is too low, it won’t break even,” Lu Hongbin immediately asked.

”It can, it definitely can,” Xu Yi said excitedly, then mysteriously added, ”Boss, come with me.”

Lu Hongbin frowned and followed Xu Yi to the kitchen.

”Look here.” Xu Yi opened a pot that contained a small half-pot of liquid that looked like clear water.

”Hiss!” Lu Hongbin slapped his thigh, ”Right! This dish sounds extravagant, but it can actually make a lot of soup!”

”Exactly, the essence of this dish is in the soup. As long as we hype up its extravagant reputation, we can appropriately raise the price and then quietly make a fortune.” Xu Yi rubbed his hands together, visibly excited.

”Great, fantastic! I’ll leave this task to you, and you must keep it a secret. Just say it was Xiaobu, that little spender, who came up with this. Double the cost and report that.” Lu Hongbin laughed heartily: ”This little spender, he spends extravagantly with style.”

He knew well that technologies like smartphone CPUs are valuable but definitely not something that can be monetized quickly; it had to be gradual.

But this boiled cabbage is different!

As long as it’s managed well, it can reap huge benefits in a short period of time.

”Absolutely! This isn’t just any spender, this is practically the God of Wealth!” Stars began to appear in Xu Yi’s eyes.

”God of Wealth my foot, I bet this little spender heard about this recipe somewhere, and he doesn’t even realize how deep it goes.” Lu Hongbin cursed jokingly, but his eyes were full of pride.

Just as Lu Hongbin guessed, Xiaobu didn’t know these things. He got the idea of boiled cabbage from a movie on Earth, remembering that a bunch of stuff in the movie could only be done once.

But that’s not important, what’s important is he has to keep on spending extravagantly.

”Alright, alright, I give up.”

He hadn’t run more than five hundred meters, and Xiaobu’s frail body was already panting and couldn’t take another step; he had no choice but to surrender to Wu Qianmin.

”Little guy still dares to race me.”

Wu Qianmin triumphantly waved her fists, only slightly out of breath.

”Sigh...”

Xiaobu sighed—The road to extravagant spending is long and arduous, and he couldn’t even outrun a girl.

But now that there’s 300,000 in the card, blowing through it would just be three attribute points; that’s still acceptable.

”Where should I splurge?” Xiaobu stroked his chin, then his eyes suddenly lit up: ”Got it, the bar.”

”Why would you go to such a shady place? You know I absolutely won’t go there.” Wu Qianmin was unhappy: ”If I don’t go, you can’t go either.”

Xiaobu felt a headache coming on.

His big brother had given him a strict order, if Wu Qianmin wasn’t with him, he couldn’t go anywhere.

So in the past, his predecessors never went to such places because Wu Qianmin wouldn’t go.

However, Xiaobu’s eyes darted around, and he suddenly said innocently: ”Can’t blame me. Full stomach, idle mind, if you don’t let me do that, I have to find a place to do that.”

”Lu! Xiao! Bu! You!” Wu Qianmin was utterly furious: ”What do you mean by ’that’?”

”Don’t worry, I’ll just look, definitely won’t lay a finger!” Xiaobu hurriedly assured.

”That’s a relief.” Wu Qianmin breathed a sigh of relief, but then she realized what he meant and her face instantly turned red: ”What does it matter to me whether you touch or not?”

”Who knows?” Xiaobu looked up at the sky.

”You!” Wu Qianmin ground her teeth in anger: ”Fine! Let’s go, it’s not like it involves me anyway!”

Though she spoke angrily, her heart somehow couldn’t muster any irritation, and for some reason, she found Xiaobu much more agreeable today, very much so!

”Hehe.” Xiaobu chuckled quietly.

His body might not allow him to ’do that’, but watching is still okay!

Apparently, the girls in there are very ’that’!
