Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

”Can zombies still plan?”

Bai Yifan glanced at the child zombie just a few years old, feeling a chill in his heart.

Could there really be someone or a zombie intentionally turning young children into zombies?

What could be the purpose of such an action?

If you wanted little zombie minions, it would be easy, just take a stroll outside.

In this world, there is no shortage of hideous zombies, so why deliberately turn humans into zombies?

What kind of distorted mentality would either zombies or humans have to do such a thing?

”Look, they all came out of the yard as a family, zombies can’t suppress their impulses and yet leave a single bite mark on each person’s neck, which indicates that the other party is a self-aware Zombie King who turned these families into zombies together.”

Bai Xiqin’s voice was somewhat heavy.

Not only the few families in front of them, but perhaps the entire village had been turned into zombies by that guy.

This is not a place like Taovillage where people and zombies coexist peacefully. This is truly a Zombie Village!

They had seen plenty of zombies that eat people, and also zombies that don’t.

They never expected to see a Zombie King who doesn’t eat people but purely turns humans into zombies!

The zombies in front of them were clearly once villagers, and despite not initially being zombies, the whole family ended up becoming zombies...

What a tragic reunion this is.

”Damn!” Bai Zhengxuan looked a bit panicked. ”Old Wang and Old Liu better not get bitten!”

Bai Zhengxuan pressed his face against the glass, straining to look outside the bus window.

His gaze swept among the zombie villagers.

He hoped to quickly spot Old Wang and Old Liu, yet didn’t want to see them among the zombies!

”Don’t worry, they should be fine.”

Bai Xiqin glanced at the worried old man at the back of the bus.

The old man was still at the back of the bus, but this time he wasn’t urging them to leave quickly.

Because it was already too late; the zombies in the village had all emerged.

Strangely, the old man stood there without avoiding the zombies, yet the zombie villagers did not bite him, instead they lunged at the more difficult-to-attack bus.

Clearly without any superpower or ability to control zombies, the old man stood there without attracting any zombie’s attention.

None of the zombies seemed to detect the scent of flesh and blood on the old man, they bypassed him and lunged at the bus instead.

The old man’s weathered gaze occasionally lingered on the zombie villagers, with a hint of sadness in his eyes.

After a long while, the old man slowly turned and walked in the opposite direction of the bus.

”Sis, there’s definitely something wrong with this old guy, should we capture him?”

The figure of the old man mingled incongruously among the zombie villagers, he was the only human.

His silhouette seemed extremely desolate.

Bai Xiqin looked at the old man’s back, inexplicably feeling a twinge of sadness.

After she died back then, her future grandparents must have been this lonely too!

Bai Xiqin sighed, yet still used her control power to ”grab” the old man.

Since the old man was the only active human in the village, kidnapping him for Uncle Wang’s rescue was not something to be criticized.

Besides, he was definitely connected to the village’s Zombie King!

The number of zombie villagers increased, Bai Xiqin used her control power to reluctantly push them back, moving the old man from the back of the bus to inside the bus through the window with great effort.

The old man wore no more than a somber expression, only a face full of desolation as he gazed at the zombies outside the bus.

”My friend was captured by the zombies in this village, you know where he is, don’t you?”

Bai Zhengxuan asked with affirmation.

A normal person wouldn’t be so calm, nor would they be able to prevent the entire village of zombies from biting him.

The old man hunched over in the middle of the Bai Family, his hoarse voice rang out, ”I don’t understand what you’re saying, there are no friends of yours here, you better leave quickly! Even if you’re Superpower Users, it will be too late to go back!”

While saying this, the old man’s eyes inadvertently glanced south, filled with worry.

He was worried about his son, and his son is this village’s Zombie King who controls the zombies.

”Xiao Fan, head south!” Bai Xiqin saw the old man’s gaze and decisively spoke up.

The old man’s eyes were full of melancholy when he looked at the villagers, yet when asked about the village’s matters, he staunchly refused to speak, subconsciously protecting the village’s Zombie King.

With such behavior, Bai Xiqin no longer felt pity for the old man.

He sympathizes with the victimized villagers while protecting the village’s Zombie King.

In some sense, doing nothing is no different than being an accomplice.

He’s in cahoots with the Zombie King, and they’re deeply related.

If not a spouse, then a parent.

Hearing Bai Xiqin’s words, Bai Yifan decisively turned the steering wheel, swiftly darting through the zombie villagers.

”Roar――”

A horde of zombies followed at the back of the bus, with the child zombies at the very end being the most conspicuous.

They didn’t run fast, their fierce expressions and rotten flesh were no less than ordinary zombies!

”You all better leave! You’re definitely no match for him!”

The old man muttered to himself.

The last sentence was spoken as if to affirm yet also self-comfort.

When a son does wrong, a father always thinks about helping to conceal it.

When his son’s safety wasn’t at risk, he was a good man, telling Bai Xiqin to leave.

At that time, he genuinely hoped the family before him would survive.

But when Bai Xiqin’s family wanted to confront his son, he truly only wished for his son’s victory.

Just like with the villagers, when they turned into zombies, he was saddened, and until now, seeing the entire village turn into zombies, his heart remained sorrowful.

Yet he never thought of blaming the perpetrator.

Nor did he ever consider resisting his son.

Because that was his pride, his son.

Even if... he had already turned into something neither human nor fully ghost.

”Don’t worry, old man, we’re very powerful, we’ll definitely take down the Zombie King in the village!”

Bai Zhengxuan looked at the child zombies trailing behind the bus from afar, just stating harshly.

Having been a teacher all his life, he couldn’t stand to see tragedies happen to children.

”You can’t hurt my son! He’s a genius!” The old man looked at Bai Zhengxuan with an angry expression, instantly speaking up, ”He graduated from a prestigious university! He’s a pillar of society!”

In the old man’s heart, he had been a farmer all his life, living frugally to support his son’s education.

His son was very successful, attending the best university in Shanghai, and upon graduation, secured a well-paid job.

These were the things that made the old man feel that all his life’s hardships had been worth it.

No matter what his son turned into, in his heart, his son was always the best!

”Your son?” Bai Zhengxuan paused for a moment, then his face turned angry again, ”If your son was so excellent, why did he turn everyone in the village into zombies and capture my two friends, your son is a bad person, if there was no apocalypse, he should be executed! He’s no genius at all!”

It was rare for Old Man Bai Zhengxuan to be so angry, mainly because the cries of the child zombies behind the bus were too innocent sounding, yet carried a harshness that made his heart uneasy!
