Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

”Uncle Wang, where’s your truck?”

Bai Yifan immediately noticed that Uncle Wang didn’t drive over.

The garbage truck was forever the divine vehicle in his heart.

Its external armor was unbreakable, sustaining no damage in any encounter, and no zombie could gnaw through it.

If the whole family agreed, Bai Yifan would actually trade the bus for the garbage truck.

Usually, Bai Yifan would also use his Gold Ability to reinforce the garbage truck, but his Gold Ability was only First Rank, not as effective as Uncle Wang’s enhancements.

Uncle Wang’s garbage truck had always been invincible.

”The garbage truck is parked a few streets away!”

Uncle Wang nibbled on a skewer of meat, casually pointing in a direction.

”Huh? How can you just leave it lying around like that!” Bai Yifan winced a bit at the thought.

What if somebody stole it?

”It’s very safe! It’s out of gas and filthy outside, covered in zombie black blood.”

Uncle Liu winced just thinking about being chased by zombies these past few days.

The zombies these days were exceptionally fierce.

”Black blood? Uncle, were you chased by a horde of zombies again?” Bai Yifan blinked.

”Yup!” Uncle Wang nodded with a calm expression.

He didn’t feel anything was amiss!

Bai Yifan: ...

Sure enough, Uncle Wang was still the same as before, always being chased by zombies, without any change.

”So you all know each other!”

Wang Lu awkwardly touched his nose, feeling a bit embarrassed.

He was just thinking about making a profit in between!

Unexpectedly, these two families knew each other.

”We know each other, we’re best friends, we often go out and get chased around by zombies for fun.”

Uncle Wang pointed a barbecue skewer at Bai Zhengxuan.

Thinking of those fun times being chased by zombies at the Fire Phoenix Safety Base made Uncle Wang’s mouth water.

The pork and green onion dumplings were really scrumptious!

Wang Lu looked at the three uncles with admiration, his heart was set.

It seemed only these three uncles could fulfill his wish of being chased by zombies.

”Old Bai, why didn’t you stay at the Fire Phoenix Safety Base?”

Bai Zhengxuan handed Uncle Wang a grilled chicken leg, looking a bit curious.

It was okay for Uncle Wang and Uncle Liu to like playing, but rushing to Shanghai was unnecessary!

There were way too many zombies here.

If one wanted to retire comfortably, the Fire Phoenix Safety Base was still a decent choice.

Though not too powerful, there were no particularly human-hating Zombie Kings in the vicinity, and Zhang Yiming and Fan Tangtang wouldn’t overthrow the safety base.

”The world is so big, we want to see it.”

Uncle Liu fiercely bit into the grilled meat, with a hint of anger in his voice.

He couldn’t bring himself to talk about being chased out, it was too embarrassing.

”Ha, it’s no big deal!” Uncle Wang waved it off calmly, ”I accidentally rammed the safety base’s gate while driving back, and then they wouldn’t let us return, and even said they’d put us on the blacklist!”

Not going back was no big deal, they were strong enough to get by anywhere.

”That’s it? Impossible, it’s just the safety base gate!” Bai Yifan looked doubtful.

Back then, he had even crashed through the living area’s gate inside the safety base, and there was no repercussion.

”Could it be Captain Zhu targeting you?” Bai Xiqin speculated.

The Bai Family had big issues with Captain Zhu, and now that they were gone, he might very well target Uncle Wang and Uncle Liu.

But these two uncles were quite strong, they wouldn’t be easily evicted from the safety base!

”If it’s Captain Zhu targeting you, you don’t have to worry anymore. He’s not at Fire Phoenix Safety Base anymore, you all should be able to return.” Bai Anhai said.

They had seen with their own eyes at Yellow River Beach, the Xiao Song Zombie biting Captain Zhu’s arm.

If nothing unexpected happened, he should be out of the picture by now.

Completely done for.

”It’s not Captain Zhu, it’s the Base Commander!” Uncle Wang shook his head vaguely.

”What? The Base Commander?” Bai Zhengxuan still looked puzzled, ”Just because you knocked down the broken gate, the Base Commander kicked you out?”

”Yes.” Uncle Wang nodded calmly, ”Along with the gate, the Base Commander and his whole family got knocked away.”

Bai Family: ...

At that time, the Base Commander was taking his family for a drive, and as soon as they reached the gate, the aggressive green garbage truck rammed into it.

Along with the base’s gate.

So much so, that the Base Commander’s eighty-year-old mother felt faint whenever she saw a green garbage truck.

The Base Commander’s three-year-old daughter would cry whenever she saw it, six times a day, four hours each cry.

Then Uncle Wang and Uncle Liu were told, either leave the green garbage truck outside or paint it the favorite pink of the Base Commander’s daughter.

Of course, Uncle Wang didn’t want to modify his truck, so he ”accidentally” drove it through another gate and left.

Thus, Uncle Wang and Uncle Liu weren’t exactly evicted.

With their strong superpower, the Base Commander, no matter how angry, wouldn’t expel the strong from the Fire Phoenix Safety Base.

Yet, just then, Captain Zhu returned and secretly ”blacklisted” the two uncles, unbeknownst to the Base Commander.

Later, when they came back and found the gate shut on them, they understood what had happened.

What’s it like being on the safety base’s blacklist?

Uncle Wang said, he could finally knock the safety base’s gate away again,

So, he rammed through the freshly installed gate once more and left.

Since they were restless people anyway, cooped up in the safety base was making them itchy, so they might as well go out and have fun.

And with that, Uncle Wang and Uncle Liu were added to the safety base’s ”blacklist”.

Called a blacklist, they could still return to the safety base if they wanted.

With Captain Zhu out of the picture, there wouldn’t be anyone to go out of their way to cause trouble anymore.

Most importantly, the Fire Phoenix Safety Base’s gate was heavy and hard to install, fixing it was a real pain, and shouldn’t be knocked away again.

The gatekeepers had decided, whenever they saw the green garbage truck, they’d open the gate right away.

”Uncle, you bumped the whole family of the Base Commander away, and all they do is ban you from entering the base? No other punishment?” Bai Yifan was in disbelief.

Why weren’t they beaten to death?

Truly, adults faced almost no consequences for their misdemeanors.

He wouldn’t even be allowed to accidentally bump into his dad without being half-dead from it!

”What other punishment could there be? They can’t beat me, can they?” Uncle Wang shrugged, ”I doubt they could even win, I could just drive and knock them away!”

Bai Yifan: ”Uncle is mighty!”

Standing on the side, Wang Lu’s thoughts were no longer on how to be chased by zombies, but on the barbecue stand.

Since the end of the world, it was the first time he had seen so much delicious food.

Usually, he only nibbled on buns or a piece of bread, never feeling full at all.

What hope could he have for life?

If he could eat what was on the barbecue rack every day, he thought being human wasn’t so bad, he could endure even the solitude, not being bitten by zombies was fine too.

”Here, have a try!”

Seeing Wang Lu eye the barbecue, Bai Zhengxuan handed him a handful of skewers.

After all, there was plenty of vegetables, meat, and grains in the space, feeding one more person wasn’t a big deal.

Besides, this guy seemed a bit odd.

They should care to those with mental hiccups!

”Thanks a lot!”

Wang Lu’s eyes lit up as he took them with both hands, and even gave a slight bow.

He dug in heartily.
