Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

”The Flood Dragon has already fallen to the ground, why is the ground still shaking? Is it an earthquake?”

Sitting in the bus, Bai Anhai could feel the ground still trembling.

Being in an apocalyptic world, the sudden tremor of the ground always brings a sense of panic.

”It’s a zombie horde!”

Bai Xiqin glanced toward Shanghai, her voice heavy with concern.

Even though she didn’t see it, she could imagine that almost all the zombies in Shanghai had emerged!

Given so many High Rank Zombies in Shanghai, they probably could distinguish that this disturbance wasn’t caused by humans, yet they still rushed out.

This indicates that the corpse of the Zombie Flood Dragon holds immense value for them!

The Zombie Flood Dragon contains a terrifying amount of zombie virus within, and the rank of zombies nearly correlates with the amount of virus within their bodies.

Ordinary zombies usually don’t eat their own kind; they are not interested in carrion.

But what if a colossal entity appeared, with enough zombie virus to make all the zombies envious?

”So, should we still go?”

Bai Yifan hesitated!

”We have to go! Even if we don’t go, we must flee in that direction, otherwise, the zombie horde behind us is not to be trifled with.” Bai Xiqin said.

From afar, Bai Xiqin could already feel the ground trembling beneath them.

Fortunately, they and Uncle Wang had vehicles; if they were just running on foot, they would probably be overtaken by the crazed zombies.

The fall of the Zombie Flood Dragon has likely claimed numerous survivor lives due to the zombie tide.

Currently, this area is unsafe, and only by reaching the other side of where the Flood Dragon fell can they escape the zombie tide.

Bai Yifan gritted his teeth, slammed the accelerator to the floor, and quickly sped toward the direction where the Flood Dragon had fallen.

After a half-hour sprint, the stench of decay grew closer, and the air in this area seemed to be filled with tiny black ashes.

A thick, putrid stench hit them head-on.

Without even rolling down the windows, the stench had already seeped in.

The bus’s sealing was excellent, a proud acquisition for Bai Anhai from his time served.

However, under the oppressive stench of decay, the defense failed, and the entire bus was filled with the smell of rot.

Even so, they didn’t open the windows.

Just by looking at the hazy, gray air outside, one could imagine how intense the smell was.

The Flood Dragon had fallen in a park.

Its massive body crashed directly onto several large trees that required several people to encircle them.

The trees couldn’t withstand the weight and fell.

Its enormous body was at least twenty to thirty meters long, with a width of five to six meters.

Its fall spanned the entire small park, smashing the cement ground into a deep pit.

Not only that, due to its transformation into a Zombie Flood Dragon, its decayed flesh was scattered everywhere by the massive impact.

The entire small park was strewn with chunks of decayed flesh.

Black blood splattered throughout the park.

”Ugh— the smell is unbearable! We can’t take it anymore, you keep watch, we’re leaving!”

Uncle Wang’s garbage truck didn’t stay for a moment; upon arrival, he took a hurried look at the black decayed flesh covering the park and, without even seeing the Zombie Flood Dragon’s body, slammed the accelerator and left.

The garbage truck wasn’t well-sealed, almost equivalent to a human body being directly exposed to the park’s air.

Uncle Wang was already faring well; Uncle Liu was directly knocked out cold by the stench.

The stench was even more potent than when they were surrounded by zombies!

Simply overwhelming!

Before the Bai Family could react, the green garbage truck had disappeared!

Bai Xiqin quickly glanced at the direction Uncle Wang drove the green garbage truck, then let out a sigh of relief.

The direction he drove happened to be opposite the direction the zombie tide from Shanghai was flooding in.

If nothing unexpected happens, Uncle Wang and the others will effortlessly dodge another calamity.

The sound of the ground shaking grew increasingly intense.

The zombies from Shanghai were pouring in, and in a while, they would reach this small park.

Just a glance at the soot-black park, and one could imagine how intense the smell was.

The Bai Family didn’t dare to open the windows, even with just the glass that cost years in prison between them, the smell nearly seemed to knock them out.

Bai Xiqin quickly took out gas masks and protective suits and distributed them to everyone.

Their first reaction was to put on the gas masks and quickly suit up.

Within minutes, the Bai Family was ready.

Bai Yifan stayed in the driver’s seat, the bus engine still running, ready to flee at any moment.

The bus door slowly opened, and everyone except Bai Yifan got down.

After getting out of the bus, they entered the small park, walked a short distance over the decayed flesh, and finally caught sight of the colossal creature.

Its thick body was a mess of flesh and blood, black blood continually oozing, seemingly never to run dry.

The body was covered with patches of decayed flesh, exposing the bones beneath.

Additionally, its body was riddled with scars, as if torn by sharp claws and teeth—horrifying even with a glance.

The lingering pressure instinctively halted everyone’s steps, preventing them from getting any closer to the decayed body.

With just a glance, all there was to see was a rotten, eternal expanse; a little more walking, and they would reach the Zombie Flood Dragon’s head.

Standing in front of this decayed mass made one feel overwhelmingly oppressed, despairing.

The violent aura radiating from it forced the urge to flee.

The zombie virus didn’t only turn humans into wretched, bloodthirsty monsters—animals weren’t spared either.

This was once a Flood Dragon, whose years on Earth were unknown, nor how much longer until it could evolve into a true dragon.

Legend suggests a snake transforms into a Flood Dragon after five hundred years, then into a dragon after another thousand years.

Judging by its mammoth body and sharp claws, maybe it would have transformed into a dragon after some time.

Perhaps with the arrival of energy tides, it could have quickly evolved into a dragon in the energy-rich Earth.

But now, its progression halted forever due to the zombie virus’s erosion.

It’s imaginable that to become this colossal entity, it endured endless years.

Yet now it turned into a rotting corpse...

This situation can no longer be described as unfortunate—it’s despairing.

The animals in the small park had disappeared somewhere, leaving it eerily quiet.

This is the calm before the storm.

In a while, when the zombie army from Shanghai arrives, this place will erupt into chaos!

”Roar—”

Amid the quiet park, a zombie’s roar suddenly resounded.

This roar differed from an ordinary zombie’s, sounding more like the roar of a zombified animal.

The Bai Family looked up, seeing a fully-decayed hyena snarling in their direction.

The fur on its mane stood upright, its body leaning forward as if ready to pounce at any moment.

Its growl was directed both at the Bai Family and the decayed behemoth.

Clearly, the Bai Family didn’t intimidate it; human flesh was merely food and not a threat to the Bai Family who hadn’t shown their true abilities yet.

It feared this corpse—a deceased figure that filled it with dread and desire.

The Bai Family’s flesh was no longer appetizing; it now craved to devour this rotting carcass.

Instincts told it that consuming the Flood Dragon’s flesh was a hundred times more powerful than devouring other flesh!
