Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

Chapter 210: Chapter 210: So What If You’re a Zombie!

Hearing Bai Xiqin’s voice, a spark lit up in Zhang Yiming’s lonely heart, only to be extinguished without hesitation.

Zhang Yiming tightened his fingers slightly inside the door, his body tense, eyes fixed on the door frame.

The door must not be opened.

He doesn’t dare to gamble.

He doesn’t dare to gamble on what kind of look Bai Xiqin would have outside the door.

She must know his identity.

Even if she didn’t realize it when he lifted her up, she definitely knows now.

Zhang Yiming’s heart sank to the core.

He saw in the mind of a Low Level zombie, his photo hanging brightly at the entrance of the safe base.

The most ironic thing was, that photo was cut out from a family photo, enlarged, and pasted there.

Even his parents couldn’t tolerate his existence. Should he really live proudly under the sun?

If his own relatives can’t accept him, how could he expect the Bai Family to consider him a friend?

”He probably thinks we’re human and he’s a zombie, that he looks down on us.” Leng Yebai glanced at the faint silhouette inside the door crack.

Leng Yebai’s words successfully made Zhang Yiming tighten his fingers, yet he still didn’t open the door.

”Is it so great to be a zombie? Let’s go! Didn’t we agree to travel? We probably won’t come again, whether we meet or not doesn’t matter.”

Leng Yebai spoke again.

Leng Yebai’s voice hammered word by word into Zhang Yiming’s heart.

He began to panic.

His stiff fingers used a little force, attempting to turn the doorknob.

Yet he still didn’t have the courage to really open it.

On both sides of the door, are two worlds.

Can the people of these two worlds really integrate seamlessly together?

”Brother Zhang is not that kind of person!” Bai Yifan argued with Leng Yebai, ”He wouldn’t look down on us!”

Even if Brother Zhang is a zombie, he’s a good zombie.

The Brother Zhang who delivers him milk powder is definitely a good... zombie!

Bai Yifan was sure, if Brother Zhang were a bad zombie, he would drink milk powder upside down!

”He definitely looks down on us because we’re human! If he doesn’t come out, let’s go!” Leng Yebai reached out and tugged Bai Xiqin’s hand, his voice growing louder, ”Xiao Niu, seems he really doesn’t want to see us! Let’s go! We won’t come back again!”

The Bai Family members looked at the suddenly ”harsh” Leng Yebai, puzzled.

Zhang Yiming is a good classmate, how could he possibly look down on humans?

Leng Yebai pulled Bai Xiqin’s hand, pretending to leave.

Sounds of footsteps came from outside, gradually fading away.

It really seemed like they were leaving.

There was a hint of panic on Zhang Yiming’s face. Unable to hold back, he really turned the doorknob.

With a creak, the door opened.

”Don’t...”

A syllable escaped Zhang Yiming’s throat, wanting them not to leave.

But he only saw Leng Yebai marching in place.

His panicked expression solidified on his face, his body rigid in place.

Completely petrified.

Never felt so speechless before!

”Brother Zhang!”

Bai Yifan’s face lit up with joy.

Though he was shocked to death yesterday, seeing Brother Zhang’s gentle face today, he was sure Brother Zhang was the good big brother who delivered him milk powder!

Zhang Yiming’s first glance was towards Bai Xiqin, also catching a glimpse of Leng Yebai’s mocking smile.

See, the door’s open now!

Zhang Yiming instinctively raised his hand to rub his temples.

Is this Leng guy born to jinx him?

”Why are you all here?”

After getting over the speechlessness, Zhang Yiming saw the Bai Family all looking at him, quickly lowered his head, his hands drooping slightly.

He was at a loss.

Like a child who did something wrong.

”We’re leaving here today, came to say goodbye to you!”

Bai Yifan grinned, his eyes sneaking a glance behind Zhang Yiming.

It’s a very clean courtyard, not swarming with zombies as imagined.

Bai Yifan thought, isn’t Brother Zhang just like a normal person!

Except for having black blood, being able to command zombies, not fearing pain or injury...

Bai Yifan suddenly felt a bit of envy, jealousy, and hate.

Isn’t this literally a superhero!

In the apocalypse, he could walk around unhindered, not fearing being bitten by a suddenly popped out zombie and turning into a screaming cutie.

Moreover, he has a plethora of little brothers to command.

Bai Yifan sneakily glanced at Zhang Yiming’s mouth, wondering if it’s like the legendary vampires— if bitten, would he scream or turn into a superhero?

”Leaving... here?”

A flash of panic crossed Zhang Yiming’s eyes, he instinctively looked up at Bai Xiqin’s eyes.

Is it because they’re afraid of him?

He thought he’d see disgust or fear in her eyes.

But there was none.

Bai Xiqin smiled at him very gently, and that smile was exceptionally bright.

It instantly illuminated his heart.

Zhang Yiming instinctively touched the corner of his eye, suddenly wanting to cry.

Yet not a single tear fell.

”Xiao Ming, why don’t we go inside to talk?”

Wang Yiyun’s eyes kept peeking behind Zhang Yiming, her eyes shining brightly.

Excited.

About to enter the zombie lair.

Moreover, Zhang Yiming is the zombie boss.

He could totally help her fulfill one of her most important dreams!

”Ah?” Zhang Yiming came to his senses, both hands trembling slightly, hurriedly opening the door, ”P-please, come in.”

His intended gentle face was a bit tense, upon closer look, even a bit shaky.

Liu Jing and Wang Yiyun’s eyes sparkled as they stepped inside without hesitation.

Bai Yifan grinned and also entered the door.

Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai were indifferent, having interacted with Zhang Yiming many times, they naturally believed he wouldn’t harm their family and stepped inside too.

Bai Zhengxuan and Bai Anhai looked at Zhang Yiming who was so warm and sunny, their hearts fluttered a bit, fearing Zhang Yiming’s home had too many zombies that might frighten their tender hearts.

But since their wives and children had gone in, they naturally had to follow.

Thus, the Bai Family unhesitatingly stepped into the house, into what was known as the home of the biggest zombie boss so far.

Zhang Yiming with his head lowered, said nothing, leading them like a bashful child into the living room.

The living room was clean and tidy, with soft sofas, comfortable lounge chairs, and clean floors...

At Zhang Yiming’s hutements, the Bai Family neatly sat on the sofa.

Zhang Yiming crossed his hands in front, standing before the Bai Family with his head still lowered.

Like a child who did something wrong, waiting for judgment.

”Brother Zhang, why don’t you sit down?” Bai Yifan always felt Brother Zhang was acting weird today.

Zhang Yiming forced a smile, awkwardly bending his knees and sitting across from the Bai Family, yet his head still didn’t lift.

As if waiting for the Bai Family’s judgment.

Clearly seeing the Bai Family’s attitude, he still felt somewhat uncomfortable, fearing his presence would scare them.

Not just Xiao Niu, every single one in the Bai Family (except the Leng guy), he really liked.

He enjoyed the time spent with them more than being with his own family, it was more relaxing and pleasant.

”When... are you leaving?” Zhang Yiming asked, looking down at his feet, still not lifting his head.

He couldn’t face the Bai Family as a zombie.

He even feared his eyes would taint them.

”We’re leaving today, came to say goodbye, we’re all friends, can’t just leave without saying anything.” Wang Yiyun’s voice was gentle, but her eyes shifty, darting around.

Why was it different from what was imagined!

Where’s the promised zombie swarm?
