“So, Eunuch Yuan Bao, since you’re idle as well, please lend a hand and pass these drawings I’ve made to your craftspeople proficient in building. Ask them whether they can construct it, how about it?” Gu Changsheng waved at Xiao Cui, who was holding a horse-stance.

Xiao Cui, feeling a huge relief, dragged her tired legs to look for the drawings made by Lady Changsheng.

“All right, no need to keep holding horse-stances, that’s enough for today.” Gu Changsheng waved his hand again, declaring the end of today’s training session.

The crowd, as if pardoned, looked at Eunuch Yuan Bao with gratitude.

“Eunuch Yuan Bao, how do you manage to eat such good-looking food? Teach me, what dishes do you eat?” Dong Lei was the first to step forward, her large eyes shining with admiration as she gazed at Yuan Bao.

...

Yuan Bao, puzzled, looked at his plump figure. Right, where was the good-looking part?

“Are your eyes bad or something? You call this good-looking? You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?” Purposely flattering yet belittling, seeking his happiness, perhaps?

“Not at all, my biggest dream is to be plump and rounded just like Eunuch Yuan Bao!” Dong Lei hurriedly explained; she truly thought Eunuch Yuan Bao’s figure was fantastic!

Gu Changsheng, speechless, looked up and sighed heavily. God, who will save this little Thunder from her twisted aesthetics?

“I’m actually determined to lose this fat, so please don’t look at me like that!” Eunuch Yuan Bao covered his belly and stepped back, looking at Dong Lei with fear in his starry eyes.

“Eunuch Yuan Bao, tell me, how did you manage to get so fat? What if I make Drunken Chicken for you? The Drunken Chicken taught by Lady Changsheng is so delicious, not too salty nor bland, just the right flavor…” Dong Lei counted the virtues of Drunken Chicken on her fingers, tempting him earnestly.

Yuan Bao swallowed hard, shook his head. He couldn’t be tempted by delicious food; he had to lose weight!

“Steamed Lotus Root filled with Sticky Rice? Lotus-Seed-Filled Meatballs? Eight Treasure Duck?…” Dong Lei was persistent, continuing her persuasion.

Yuan Bao began to swallow more frequently, his eyes starting to sparkle; it looked delicious…

Gu Changsheng covered his face, watching Dong Lei fishing for the plump man with their household’s food supplies, feeling utterly helpless.

“Steamed River Crab? Braised Pork Balls in Brown Sauce? Exquisite Steamed Dumplings?…” Dong Lei was full of combativeness, her long eyelashes trembling, the temptation relentless.

“Yuan Bao, stop struggling, you need to eat well to have strength to lose weight.” Gu Changsheng couldn’t bear to watch any longer; Yuan Bao definitely wouldn’t last a few minutes, and Dong Lei had plenty of patience. She had seen it before: she was the type who wouldn’t shed a tear until she saw the coffin!

“Really? You need to eat well to have the energy to lose weight?” Eunuch Yuan Bao immediately wavered. Faced with delicacies, for someone who cherished eating as much as life itself, it was a fatal temptation.

“Really, Lady Changsheng is a doctor; trust me, it’s true.” Gu Changsheng, with a trace of resignation, waved his hand. In fact, Yuan Bao’s weight, was truly heavy! But he carried it so evenly, his round face, round belly, round waist, managed to look so harmonious, exuding a certain cute charm that Gu Changsheng thought made him uniquely soul-dissolving with his chubbiness!

Taking the drawings from Xiao Cui, Gu Changsheng handed them to Yuan Bao, “Enough, you two stop discussing food, Dong Lei, take him to the kitchen to prepare a midnight snack. Someone has had their chickens come home to roost tonight; let’s prepare some delicious food to celebrate.”

“Good, snacks!” Eunuch Yuan Bao was immediately satisfied, a brilliant smile spreading across his round face, his large eyes squinting into lines, “Don’t worry, Lady Changsheng; I’ve got this covered.”

Seeing Yuan Bao thumping his chest in assurance, Gu Changsheng laughed wickedly with crossed arms, “Uncle Song, give him fifty thousand taels.”

Just as Yuan Bao was about to set off with Dong Lei toward the feast, he was stunned by the sudden appearance of the familiar Fifty Thousand Tael Silver Notes in his embrace, sensing that something wasn’t right, “Lady Changsheng?”

Changsheng’s Mother was extremely frugal with money; her willingly giving money was definitely not normal, and Yuan Bao had that much common sense.

“Bricks, tiles, lumber, labor, supervision and inspection; these little things, I’ll trouble Eunuch Yuan Bao with as well. Return any excess and make up for any shortfall with the silver. There’s just one thing; Lady Changsheng cannot tolerate any flaws. Everything must be done perfectly. My grand residence, the place where I’ll spend the rest of my life, I entrust to you.” Gu Changsheng patted Yuan Bao’s shoulder and turned away.

Eunuch Yuan Bao stood motionless, holding the drawing in one hand and the silver in the other.

“Hey, sorry to bother you.” Little Meat Bun walked past the petrified Eunuch Yuan Bao, tiptoed to reach, decided his shoulder was too high, patted his leg, and walked away.

“Sorry to trouble you.” Han Mo left behind just two words, following with a pat to his leg, and walked away.
