Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1338: Chapter 862: Tomorrow, Take Wang Qiutang to Apologize to Yang Zhenshan

Spirit Source Land, inside Tianshu Tower.

Yang Zhenshan sat in Yang Chengye’s study, also stroking his beard in deep thought.

The development of the situation was beyond his expectations; Wang Qiutang’s recklessness had made him much more passive, forcing him to face off with the Xuanqing Sect.

At that time, he certainly couldn’t back down, nor could he retreat. Otherwise, many in the Sea of Spirit would look down on the Yang family, and thus, target them without restraint.

Therefore, he had to stand firm and confront the Xuanqing Sect head-on.

The current question was how the Xuanqing Sect would choose.

Would they choose to concede and give the Yang family an explanation, or would they choose to completely define them as enemies?

If the Xuanqing Sect chose to concede, everything would still be negotiable.

But if the Xuanqing Sect viewed the Yang family as bandits, the arrangements in the Spirit Source Land in the Sea of Spirit over the years would certainly be impacted.

”Grandfather, about this matter~~” Yang Chengye softly asked.

Yang Zhenshan waved his hand, ”No worries, let’s wait and see!”

Currently, the initiative was in the hands of the Xuanqing Sect. The next step was to see their choice, and they didn’t need to do much.

Whether friend or foe, it all depended on the Xuanqing Sect’s choice.

”Then, my marriage to Qianqian!” Yang Qinting hesitantly said.

He was now worried the same as Li Qianqian.

Yang Zhenshan chuckled, ”What are you afraid of? At worst, your great-grandfather will help you snatch her back!”

Yang Qinting scratched his head awkwardly, ”I think it’s better to marry her properly!”

”Hmm, kidnapping is the last resort. Unless absolutely necessary, your great-grandfather won’t resort to that. Rest assured!” Yang Zhenshan laughed.

This kid seemed petrified of him rushing to the Xuanqing Sect to kidnap someone, mainly because kidnapping lacked propriety, and marriage should be conducted formally.

”Alright, you should go back and spend time with your mother. It’s been so many years; you might almost have forgotten about her!”

”Getting a wife and forgetting your mother, the ancients did not lie!”

Yang Zhenshan playfully said.

Yang Qinting broke out in a cold sweat, ”I will now go to see my mother!”

Twenty years without going home had dimmed the ties with his mother significantly, causing him to now overlook his mother at home.

Of course, this didn’t mean he truly didn’t care about his parents; it was just that too much time had passed, and he had instinctively ignored them.

”Yes, go back. I will bring your father back too, let your family reunite!” Yang Zhenshan said.

Yang Cheng’an was still at Lotus Heart Valley running an artifact refining shop with Yang Jizhen. He didn’t yet know Yang Qinting had returned to Spirit Source Land, nor did he know what had happened with the Xuanqing Sect.

...

Xuanqing Sect, Mingjian Peak, inside the Sect Main Hall.

Sect Master Master Cheng sat in the main seat, rubbing his temples with a headache.

He had only been in seclusion for a few days, and such a major issue had erupted in the sect.

Someone had dared to challenge them, and what was worse was that this matter was self-inflicted by their Xuanqing Sect.

Master Cheng glanced at Wang Qiutang standing below, feeling an unspeakable awkwardness.

Wang Qiutang was regarded as his supporter. Without Wang Qiutang’s strong support back then, he wouldn’t have attained the position of Sect Master.

Simply put, he and Wang Qiutang were in the same alliance within the sect.

He then looked at the other elders below: Law Enforcement Elder Jiang Baichuan, Outer Sect Resident Elder Lu Yuanping, Instructor Elder Chu Lingxiao, and the two newly promoted elders, Su Zheng and Lin Xiu.

He missed Duan Qingyun immensely at this moment. Though Duan Qingyun was old, his reputation in the sect was high. With Duan Qingyun present, he, as the Sect Master, could be much more relaxed.

Sadly, Duan Qingyun was trapped and killed in a battle at Black Mountain Ridge by Mo Xuanyu’s array, making Master Cheng feel like he had lost an arm, rendering him somewhat hamstrung in his actions.

”Everyone, let’s discuss how to handle the Yang family’s situation?” Master Cheng reluctantly inquired.

Chu Lingxiao glanced at Wang Qiutang, remaining silent, displaying no desire to speak.

Su Zheng and Lin Xiu were newly promoted elders; their experience and reputation could not compare to the others. They seldom voiced opinions during sect discussions.

Thus, only Jiang Baichuan and Lu Yuanping remained.

Jiang Baichuan shot a cold look at Wang Qiutang, ”What else is there to do? The sect has its own rules to follow; persecutors of fellow disciples must be punished!”

In his opinion, the root of the issue was the Wang family’s attempt to persecute Yang Qinting.

Yang Qinting was a disciple of the Inner Sect; such persecution of fellow disciples could never be tolerated by the Law Enforcement Hall.

Wang Qiutang’s cheeks subtly twitched, his words caught in his throat.

He wanted to retort, but he knew that rebutting now would be meaningless.

Lu Yuanping spoke, ”I agree with Elder Jiang, but I feel this matter shouldn’t be handled so hastily. Over the years, our sect rules have been neglected, and such unchecked behavior is rampant!”

”Heh, in the past decade, our Xuanqing Sect has had thirty-two disciples from the Inner Sect disappeared without reason. Sect Master, Yang Qinting is relatively lucky, having the protection of his family. But those from humble backgrounds that disappeared without reason, doesn’t the sect owe them an explanation too?”

”I know for a fact that these missing disciples had some conflicts with the Wang family!”

”Wang Shanhu, eh, perhaps he’s just a blade for someone!”

Upon these words, the expressions of those in the hall shifted.

Some things are not meant to be said in the open.

Where did those missing disciples go?

Everyone actually knew!

They had simply offended some people and ended up being dealt with secretly.

Inside the Xuanqing Sect, there existed shadows too, and heinous acts like disregarding human life were difficult to eliminate.

Among them, there was the Wang family, and there were other families, and even grievances inflicted by fellow disciples themselves.
