Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1326: Chapter 856: If It Really Doesn’t Work, Ancestor Will Help You Steal Her Away! (Part 2)

In short, Wang Shanhu is a martial arts instructor at the Martial Hall.

”Let’s go to Yang Family Town first!” Yang Chengye grinned at the boatman and said.

The boatman bowed his head in silence, rowing like a mute towards the direction of Yang Family Town.

...

The next day, at the Spiritual Spring Mountain Plateau.

Yang Zhenshan failed to refine the Turtle Breath Pill for the second time, and couldn’t help but feel a bit agitated.

He calmed his mind by drawing talismans in the study, only then did he open the documents sent from Jade City.

Most were routine reports, Yang Zhenshan glanced through them casually and set them aside, until he saw the report sent by Tianshu Tower.

”Qinting wants to get married!”

His eyes lit up slightly.

Speaking of which, he actually felt a bit guilty towards Yang Qinting. Back then, he thought sending Yang Qinting to Xuanqing Sect was a good thing, but it resulted in Yang Qinting not returning home for twenty years.

Twenty years without seeing his parents, and he also hasn’t married or had children, which indeed delayed Yang Qinting.

Among the younger generation of the Yang family, those as old as Yang Qinting already have sons about to come of age.

”The Wang family!”

Yang Zhenshan frowned slightly, petty conflicts between the youngsters were one thing, but for the clans to intervene as well, it truly showed they did not respect the Yang family!

Yang Zhenshan pondered a bit, then got up, left the study, and went to the rear hall.

Just at that moment, Yu Qingyi was coming out from the Quiet Chamber. Yang Zhenshan handed the document to Yu Qingyi and said, ”Take a look at this!”

”Oh, what happened?” Yu Qingyi took the document and asked casually.

Yang Zhenshan rarely got involved in matters from Jade City, and Yu Qingyi even less so; she only cared about internal affairs of the Yang family and Yang Zhenshan’s few disciples.

If a child was getting married or a family had a new baby, she would send a gift, showing elder’s care and concern for the younger generation.

As for personally attending, that was simply impossible.

The Yang family had so many people now, with several marriages or newborns every year, if they cared about each and every one, Yu Qingyi and Yang Zhenshan wouldn’t be able to cultivate.

”Qinting has found a girl he likes and wants to marry her, but there’s a bit of trouble!” Yang Zhenshan briefly explained.

After Yu Qingyi finished reading the document, she thought for a moment and said, ”As long as the Li family agrees, isn’t it settled?”

”Getting the Li family to agree isn’t easy, as it involves the internal power struggles within Xuanqing Sect!” Yang Zhenshan explained.

”You could pay a visit to Chu Lingxiao!” Yu Qingyi suggested.

Yang Zhenshan nodded lightly, that was exactly what he was thinking.

For him, the issues with the Wang family were not important. Since Yang Chengye was already involved, the threat posed by the Wang family was insignificant.

What he cared more about was helping Yang Qinting marry Li Qianqian, involving the internal matters of Xuanqing Sect, which were hard for them to meddle in.

And as Yu Qingyi said, the key to this matter lay with Chu Lingxiao. As long as Chu Lingxiao agreed to a union between the Li family and the Yang family, there wouldn’t be major obstacles.

Yang Zhenshan knew Chu Lingxiao a bit.

Back then, during the battle outside the Ancient Array between the Three Sects and the Nether Prison Sect, he observed Chu Lingxiao’s Sword Dao from afar.

That was when a Foundation Establishment sword cultivator from Hidden Sword Mountain intervened. Although Chu Lingxiao’s Sword Dao wasn’t as good as Hidden Sword Mountain’s cultivator, it still left a deep impression on Yang Zhenshan.

”This matter still needs my wife’s intervention!” Yang Zhenshan said with a chuckle.

After all, Chu Lingxiao was a woman, and if he visited, there were some things he couldn’t discuss, but Yu Qingyi could. As women, they would have topics they could relate to.

”Then I’ll give it a try!” Yu Qingyi decided.

Yang Zhenshan took out a Jade Token, ”Take this with you, if there’s any trouble, come back directly without any concerns!”

Xuanqing Sect wasn’t a place of extreme danger, but there was a certain level of risk. If the Wang family went mad and wanted to keep Yu Qingyi at Xuanqing Sect, having the Jade Token would help her survive.

”Let’s go, I’ll take you to Green Jade City!”

Yang Zhenshan took Yu Qingyi’s hand, and with a thought, they appeared in a forest outside Green Jade City.

A black crow stood on a treetop, watching the suddenly appearing Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi with its dark eyes.

”I’ll be going then!” After determining the direction, Yu Qingyi said.

”Okay, be careful. If Chu Lingxiao doesn’t agree, it’s fine. At worst, we’ll just snatch Li Qianqian away!” Yang Zhenshan said with a grin.

”Don’t talk nonsense, don’t worry, I’ll be careful!” Yu Qingyi couldn’t help but laugh.

Snatching someone was the last resort, after all, Li Qianqian was Yang Qinting’s chosen wife, not just a captive bride.

Of course, if both Yang Qinting and Li Qianqian agreed, Yang Zhenshan wouldn’t mind making a trip to Xuanqing Sect to bring Li Qianqian away.

...

Watching Yu Qingyi enter Green Jade City, Yang Zhenshan went to Yang Family Town.

In a bright room, Yang Qinting was looking listlessly at the blooming crabapple flowers outside the window.

After arriving at Yang Family Town, they did not immediately return to the Spirit Source Land because they had to guard Wang Shanhu and others, and certainly couldn’t take them back to the Spirit Source Land.

Yang Zhenshan’s sudden appearance startled Yang Qinting, ”Old Ancestor!”

”Mm,” Yang Zhenshan replied, hands in sleeves, sitting casually beside Yang Qinting, ”Where’s your uncle?”

”They’re guarding Wang Shanhu and the others! Wang Shanhu is the person the Wang family of Xuanqing Sect sent to kill me!” Yang Qinting said.

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, he could guess Yang Chengye’s intention. As long as they had Wang Shanhu in custody, they held the moral high ground, and Xuanqing Sect couldn’t overly favor the Wang family.

Wang Qiutang was an elder of Xuanqing Sect, and he, Yang Zhenshan, was a Guest Elder of Illusion Moon Sect, neither inferior to the other.

”How does Li Qianqian feel about you?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

This was a necessary question—what if the girl wasn’t interested in Yang Qinting and their love story was just Yang Qinting’s one-sided wishful thinking? That would complicate things.

”Old Ancestor, Qianqian and I are like-minded!” Yang Qinting responded shyly.

Almost forty years old, yet as bashful as a pure young boy!

Uh, well, perhaps this boy is indeed a pure young boy!

Yang Zhenshan inquired, ”Really?”

”Truly, absolutely!” Yang Qinting affirmed.

”Would she agree to elope with you?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

”Elope!” Yang Qinting was a bit perplexed, ”Why elope?”

”If Xuanqing Sect disagrees, or if the Li family is unwilling, you might have to elope. Don’t worry, you can live in Spirit Source Land after that; eloping won’t make you fugitives forever!” Yang Zhenshan’s eyes twinkled with a hint of mischief.

”This~” Yang Qinting hesitated. He didn’t doubt Li Qianqian’s feelings for him. After all, he had known Li Qianqian for twenty years, and although they hadn’t pledged their lives to each other, their bond was deep.

He was just contemplating whether it was feasible, the impact on Li Qianqian, and whether it would harm her.

Recalling Li Qianqian’s gentle yet resilient nature, Yang Qinting said, ”She might agree!”

”That’s good, if needed, the old ancestor will help you sneak her out!” Yang Zhenshan laughed.

”Sneak, old ancestor, ’sneak’ doesn’t sound great!” Yang Qinting remarked.

Yang Zhenshan roared with laughter, ”What’s wrong with that? Whether it’s snatching or sneaking, the end is to bring her back to be your wife!”

Yang Qinting sweated profusely.
