Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1133: Chapter 765: The Yang Family Winery Opens for Business

”Greetings, Steward Ji!” Yang Zhenshan stood up and returned the salute.

The two exchanged brief pleasantries before Ji De’an brought the conversation to the main topic, ”I wonder what the senior’s visit is about today?”

Yang Zhenshan said with a smile, ”It’s actually nothing major. My family wants to rent a shop in Snow Valley Town to conduct some business.”

”I see!” Ji De’an heard this and felt slightly relieved; if it was just for shop rental, then it was indeed not a major issue.

He thought for a moment and said, ”Currently, there are not many vacant shops in Snow Valley Town, and their locations aren’t very good.”

”Oh! Could you tell me which ones are available?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

”Of course!” Ji De’an’s attitude was very earnest; after all, this was part of his job. While there aren’t too many shops in Snow Valley Town, there’s a fair number, and each shop is a property of the Cold Cloud Sect, so he naturally didn’t want them to remain vacant.

He took out a map of Snow Valley Town, placed it before Yang Zhenshan, and said, ”There are five vacant shops, but I estimate that Senior Yang may not fancy the three shops on the west side of town!”

Yang Zhenshan looked at the map and nodded slightly.

Snow Valley Town is divided into east and west parts; the east is the workshop area, and the west is the residential area. Although many Martial Artists reside on the west side, shops there mainly sell essentials.

Yang Zhenshan sells Spiritual Wine, so he couldn’t open a shop in that area, and the shop sizes over there are quite small. If they were larger, he might have considered it.

”There are two shops in the workshop area, just these two!” Ji De’an pointed at two shops on the map.

The Martial Cultivator workshop in Snow Valley Town roughly comprises two east-west streets; the best location is naturally on the street leading directly into the mountain, which everyone must pass if returning from or heading into the mountain.

However, the two shops Ji De’an mentioned were on another street, nestled at the far end. Their location was really remote; if not searched intentionally, most people wouldn’t pass by these shops.

Simply put, the foot traffic to these two shops was quite low, no wonder they’ve remained vacant.

Yang Zhenshan had previously viewed these two shops and knew they were the only vacant shops in the Martial Cultivator workshop area.

”Can these two shops be merged into one? Also, the courtyard behind them is empty; can I rent this entire area and merge them?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

The shops’ location was remote, but the courtyard behind them was indeed large, and Yang Zhenshan found the courtyard appealing.

If they could fully merge, they would have a residence and wouldn’t need to rent a separate place to stay.

”In that case, it must be rented for a minimum of two years!” Ji De’an said.

”That’s no problem!” Yang Zhenshan replied.

”As for the price, for the two shops plus the courtyard, the minimum yearly rent is four hundred eighty Spirit Stones!” Ji De’an stated.

Renting shops in the Martial Cultivator workshop, the rental naturally isn’t paid in Gold or Silver.

Yet, four hundred eighty Spirit Stones a year seemed a bit steep!

Yang Zhenshan glanced at Ji De’an with a faint smile and said, ”Steward Ji, don’t treat me as an easy target!”

This isn’t some Spirit Land; the residence doesn’t require Spirit Stone rent, and while the courtyard is quite large, even a bigger courtyard would only need Gold and Silver to rent.

As for those two shops, ha, one year for one shop at two hundred forty Spirit Stones? Yang Zhenshan had inquired, and even the best-placed shop costs only three hundred sixty Spirit Stones a year, while the worst costs less than two hundred.

Ji De’an’s expression stiffened, and he awkwardly chuckled, ”Ahem, isn’t this just to offer a high price to barter?”

Yang Zhenshan was somewhat speechless; so you planned for me to haggle!

”Alright, I don’t like that approach; two shops, one hundred eighty Spirit Stones per shop per year, making it three hundred sixty for both. If you want rent for that courtyard, I’ll give you three hundred taels of Silver a year!”

It’s merely a courtyard, how could the rent be that expensive?

Ji De’an chuckled awkwardly, ”Then let’s follow the senior’s suggestion. Forget the courtyard rent; I’ll decide to let the senior live there for free for two years!”

”Then it’s settled. Let’s establish the contract directly!” Yang Zhenshan said.

”Okay!”

Ji De’an said happily.

Subsequently, the two signed the contract, and Yang Zhenshan promptly paid two years’ rent.

The next day, Yang Zhenshan moved into the two shops and courtyard with his team.

The courtyard was indeed large, quaint, and complete with furniture, fulfilling their daily needs.

As for the shops, each was about seventy to eighty square meters; after merging, they were one hundred fifty square meters.

In fact, there was also a small courtyard behind the shops, allowing for residence, albeit cramped.

After merging the shops and courtyard, it formed a front-store-back-courtyard layout, with the rear courtyard accommodating fifty to sixty people comfortably.

Moreover, the courtyard contained two large cellars suitable for storing wines.

After renting the shops, Luo Zhen immediately led a team to renovate and refurbish them.

The work was straightforward, as Snow Valley Town had a population of thirty to forty thousand, and craftspeople were readily available. They only needed to pay some Silver to ensure the work was meticulously done.

Regarding spending Silver, Yang Zhenshan didn’t concern himself.

Here, Silver wasn’t valuable.

A single Spirit Stone could exchange for over ten thousand taels of Silver.

In just seven or eight days, renovations for the two shops were complete.

Yang Zhenshan stood inside, watching the renovated result, nodding in satisfaction.
