Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1106: Chapter 751: You Want to Leave? (Part 2)

Yang Zhenshan waited for a while longer, and seeing that those Green Wolves did not reappear, he emerged once more and charged toward the Transmission Hall!

His speed was extreme, but a green streak of light was even faster.

In the blink of an eye, it arrived near Yang Zhenshan.

Yang Zhenshan remained vigilant at all times, and the moment that streak appeared, he noticed.

Without any hesitation, he reentered the Spirit Source Land.

This time, he ran only some dozen feet, the Transmission Hall was right in front of him, but he couldn’t enter.

Awoo~~

A wolf howl sounded, and a giant wolf, entirely snow-white, appeared in Yang Zhenshan’s sight.

This was the Wolf King!

Yang Zhenshan’s face revealed a smirk.

Truly worthy of being the Wolf King, this presence, this speed, even if not a Martial God Level Divine Beast, it must be close.

A Mutant Beast’s lifespan surpasses that of a Martial Artist. Before becoming a Mutant Beast, most ordinary animals’ lifespans are shorter than humans, but once they become Mutant Beasts, their lifespans exceed those of Martial Artists.

Just like Red Cloud, now sixty years old. An ordinary horse would never reach this age, but Red Cloud not only has such longevity, it is filled with vitality, showing no signs of aging.

This Wolf King before him should not only be decades old, it might be an ancient creature living for two or three hundred years.

Its strength and intelligence are far beyond the average beast.

Seeing Yang Zhenshan disappear, the Wolf King did not fall into confusion. It glanced at where Yang Zhenshan disappeared, even looking up at the sky, showing a thoughtful expression.

Those eyes, emitting a green glow, surprisingly radiated wisdom.

Yang Zhenshan’s gaze met the Wolf King’s, his brow furrowing slightly.

He could see the Wolf King, but the Wolf King could not see him.

Yet looking at the Wolf King gave him a feeling not of observing a Mutant Beast, but more like observing a wise old man.

The sensation was peculiar, clearly a fierce beast, yet Yang Zhenshan felt no ferocity, instead seeing only calm and wisdom.

”This is truly eerie!”

Yang Zhenshan felt somewhat stifled inside.

The Wolf King waited for a long while, seeing that Yang Zhenshan did not appear, it seemed to ponder for a moment, unexpectedly retreating about a dozen feet.

Whether by coincidence or intent, it was right at the edge of Yang Zhenshan’s observation range.

Furthermore, it withdrew its claws, crouched on the ground, as if signaling no intention of attack.

Now it was Yang Zhenshan’s turn to be bewildered.

What does this mean?

Is it indicating no further attack?

Or is it luring me out?

Yang Zhenshan found himself in a dilemma.

Should he go out?

The Transmission Hall was right in front of him, just another dozen feet forward, and he could enter.

The Transmission Hall was protected by a great array, Mutant Beasts should not be able to enter.

But he could!

Because the Guardian Array of the Transmission Hall does not prohibit human entry.

This was likely set by the Ancient Sect, ensuring disciples could enter the Transmission Hall. When the Sect was still around, there’d surely be other measures for checking, but now the Ancient Sect no longer exists, so outsiders are no longer prevented from entering, only Mutant Beasts are barred.

Yang Zhenshan looked at the seemingly harmless, restrained Wolf King, thought for a moment, then appeared once more in the square.

The Wolf King, upon seeing him appear, its green eyes suddenly glowed brightly, though it was not a vicious light, but an emotion of surprise.

Indeed, surprise!

Yang Zhenshan did not move this time; he cautiously held his spear, watching the Wolf King.

The Wolf King did not attack, nor did any other Green Wolves appear, only lying hidden in the surrounding forest.

The Wolf King gazed at him and then emitted a low howl.

Awoo awoo~~

Its howl seemed to contain meaning, but unfortunately, Yang Zhenshan couldn’t understand.

Yang Zhenshan hesitated for a moment, then stepped towards the direction of the Transmission Hall.

The Wolf King’s body flashed, greatly heightening Yang Zhenshan’s alertness, but he soon realised it wasn’t about to attack him; it was instead blocking him ten feet ahead, essentially in front of the Transmission Hall’s door.

”Damn, this guy is overly clever!” Yang Zhenshan cursed inwardly.

However, the Wolf King’s subsequent behavior further astounded him.

The Wolf King circled in front of him, then sat within the circle, stretching out its paw to point outside.

Woo woo~~

”What does it mean?”

Yang Zhenshan furrowed his brows, speaking in a deep voice.

The Wolf King drew another circle on the ground, stayed inside it, then attempted to extend its paw out, but each time it did, it withdrew it again.

Yang Zhenshan’s eyes glimmered, ”Do you want to go out?”

Woo woo~~

Well, Yang Zhenshan couldn’t understand its howl, and it couldn’t understand Yang Zhenshan’s words.

This Wolf King may be very clever, but few humans have appeared in this Ancient Array, so no matter how intelligent, it likely hasn’t interacted with humans.

Yang Zhenshan thought for a while, put away his spear, pointed at the sky, gestured, ”Do you want to go out?”

Woo woo~~ The Wolf King’s eyes shone, seemingly understanding Yang Zhenshan’s meaning.

Yang Zhenshan thought, this Wolf King is quite interesting, it even knows to go out!

But it’s not hard to understand; the Wolf King’s wisdom is not much inferior to humans, having such thoughts is normal.

Although the Ancient Array covers a hundred miles, for a powerful Mutant Beast, such a world is still too small.

Suddenly, Yang Zhenshan thought of something, staring intently at the Wolf King.

The Wolf King’s desire to leave might not just be to explore a wider world; it may want to break through to become a Divine Beast.

The Ancient Array would annihilate any Martial God Level beings, though the Wolf King grew within the confines of the array, its position in the array’s protection mechanism was no different from Martial God experts from outside.

Should it break through, it would instantly be annihilated by the array.

And it probably knows this, which is why it wants to leave.

If this is truly the case, what should Yang Zhenshan do?

He now had two options: the simplest was to hide in the Spirit Source Land for a few days. He could stay in the Spirit Source Land for several days, but this Wolf King couldn’t stay here indefinitely; it would leave sooner or later, this way was easiest and safest.

The second option was to send this Wolf King into the Spirit Source Land; the Wolf King’s strength certainly exceeds his. Even within the Spirit Source Land, Yang Zhenshan might not match it.

In the Spirit Source Land, Yang Zhenshan could teleport instantly, but that’s the extent of it; despite his abilities, even within the Spirit Source Land, fighting this Wolf King might not result in victory.

However, he had another ability: he could remove any creature and item from the Spirit Source Land by mere thought.

To bring something into the Spirit Source Land, he needed physical contact.

Yet to remove something, only a thought was needed.

Perhaps he couldn’t defeat this Wolf King within the Spirit Source Land, but he could readily eject it from the Spirit Source Land.

However, the Spirit Source Land doesn’t just have him; there are tens of thousands of people inside. If this being went berserk within it, he might contain it quickly, but casualties might ensue.

Sending the Wolf King to the Spirit Source Land is risky, but if he could tame this Wolf King, the gains~~

Yang Zhenshan felt a surge of excitement.

Martial God Level Divine Beast!

Thinking of the Wuxiang Sect’s Heavenly Turtle Beast and the Illusion Moon Sect’s Illusion Moon Fox, Yang Zhenshan felt a strong urge to capture this Wolf King into the Spirit Source Land.

But he restrained the urge.

”Let me enter first, and I’ll take you out once I come back!”

Yang Zhenshan spoke while gesturing to convey his intentions.

It’s unclear whether the Wolf King understood him, but nonetheless, it unsheathed its sharp claws.

The gleaming claws measured over three feet long, and just looking at them imparted a chilling sensation.

”Threats have no effect on me!” Yang Zhenshan said faintly.

But inside, he was tense, fearing this creature might suddenly leap forward, so he prepared to retreat into the Spirit Source Land.

The Wolf King hesitated for a moment, then retracted its claws, suddenly called out.

Then several Green Wolves dashed from the distant forest, and Yang Zhenshan instantly hid in the Spirit Source Land.

However, he quickly realized he had misunderstood; these Green Wolves didn’t intend to attack him but brought items over, placing them where he had stood before departing.

Yang Zhenshan was embarrassed, damn, he showed weakness!

He emerged again from the Spirit Source Land, glancing at the Wolf King still crouching ten feet away.

At this moment, the Wolf King’s expression took on a human-like quality; from its face, Yang Zhenshan saw a hint of mockery.

This creature was mocking him!
