Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 923: Chapter 660: Spiritual Spring Medicinal Decoction (Part 2)

Although Yu Qingyi did not always appear as youthful and innocent as Xue Qiaoer, she stood there with flowing robes, appearing almost ethereal, her white dress outshining the snow, her long hair like clouds, resembling a celestial being beyond comparison.

Just after the New Year, while the atmosphere of celebration lingered on Divine Wood Island, Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi had to busy themselves in their space.

”Longevity Village still needs time to finish construction, so for now, we must handle things ourselves!” Yang Zhenshan gently stroked his long, flowing beard and laughed.

Yu Qingyi, with flowers in her hair, laughed and said, ”It’s not a troublesome matter, let’s just do it ourselves!”

”Shall we begin?” Yang Zhenshan held Yu Qingyi’s arm, and she responded with a sweet smile.

Then the two of them began to work. Yang Zhenshan was in charge of fetching water, while Yu Qingyi was responsible for brewing the medicinal soup.

What exactly were they doing?

It wasn’t anything unusual; they were merely making medicinal soup.

Golden Blood Vine, moon star, Hundred-Colored Flower, Cold Pine Fruit, Ice Heart Fruit, and over a dozen Treasure Medicines and Spirit Fruits were simmered together, then mixed with Spiritual Spring Water, creating an extremely gentle medicinal soup.

It could replenish qi and blood, fill deficiencies, activate blood circulation and qi movement, enhance physical strength, and heal injuries.

It could be used by both ordinary people and those in the Body Refining Realm, and if Dragon Bone Fruit and Evergreen Vine were added, it could enhance and refine Jin Qi, suitable for Postnatal Martial Artists.

The key is that this medicinal soup is easy to make; simply set up a large pot, light a fire, and simmer for two hours.

A single pot of medicinal soup can produce one hundred jars of potion, with each jar containing ten pounds of potion.

Drink one pound per month, and its efficacy is not much different from drinking Spiritual Spring Water daily. However, in terms of enhancing potential, it falls significantly short; otherwise, there isn’t much difference.

An ordinary person could become a martial artist within a year of consumption, and those in the Body Refining Realm could enter the Postnatal Realm after five to six years. Postnatal Martial Artists would find their cultivation efforts doubled.

The main advantage is that brewing such medicinal soup is relatively easy, much simpler than brewing wine by countless times.

Yang Zhenshan and his wife could easily brew fifty pots of medicinal soup a day, producing five thousand jars of potion.

With ten large pots set at once, after adding water, all that’s needed is to add firewood from time to time, and Yu Qingyi can handle it alone.

Meanwhile, Yang Zhenshan had to fill jars with water, add the medicinal soup, and seal the jar openings with oiled paper.

All these potions were prepared for Yang Chengye, as the Yang family naturally had to provide him some resources and convenience since he was to join the quest to conquer the land.

Leaving aside everything else, this Spiritual Spring Water had to be handled personally by Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi.

Yang Zhenshan surely wouldn’t go to Chongshan Town to take command; otherwise, everything, good or bad, would be attributed to him, leaving Yang Chengye with nothing to do.

Hence, Yang Zhenshan prepared these potions for Yang Chengye.

With these potions, Yang Chengye could train a truly elite force.

This was the support of the grandparents for their grandson’s career!

...

On Divine Wood Island.

Yang Mingzhao and Yang Chengye sat opposite each other.

Uncle and nephew were happily chatting.

”Dear Uncle, you really got me into trouble this time!” Yang Chengye complained with a face full of discontent.

Yang Mingzhao leaned back with self-satisfaction, ”You’re only complaining because you profited, how did I get you into trouble?”

”Founding Emperor! Such figures that will be remembered through history, like Taizu of Da Rong, Taizu of Dasheng, and all those previous emperors, weren’t they all esteemed heroes!”

”Good nephew, I have no doubt you can become a great hero remembered by history, just like them! Even if dynasties change, no one will forget you!”

Yang Chengye couldn’t help but roll his eyes, but he had already given up on arguing with Yang Mingzhao, as he couldn’t match his uncle’s unabashedness.

Even when he was little, his uncle loved to pull rank, acting like an elder from the age of five or six, stern-faced, assuming an elder’s authority to direct them, the nephews, to do this or that.

”Uncle, are you going to leave your Taiping Army unattended?”

Yang Mingzhao took a sip of tea, ”How could I leave it unattended?”

”I will ask Uncle Wu to continue holding the fort in Baoning Prefecture. They will continue drilling soldiers, managing civilian affairs, and when you bring the army to Bashu, your uncle will definitely give you a prosperous city!”

”By then, you can directly incorporate the Taiping Army; Li Wenchun, Li Baoshan, Chen Buyu, Chen Buren, just give them some moderate positions!”

”As for the others, I’ll bring them back to Divine Wood Island!”

He had already planned it out: Ma Yan, Lu Bo, Li Dagui, Yang Ze were all from the Yang family and could be arranged anyhow, without much fuss, but for Li Wenchun, Chen Buyu, and others who were willing to follow him in rebellion, he was committed to securing a future for them.

The future might not be grand, but giving them a position in the new dynasty was easy enough. He was even considering securing a title for Chen Buyu—a title of Earl would suffice; anything higher would be inappropriate.

”No, no, Uncle, you have to help me!”

Yang Chengye said, ”How about this, you all take down the whole Bashu first, then help me keep an eye on Yunling Town, Wusi Town, and Anxi Town.”

Yang Mingzhao shook his head, ”No, among the three border towns, I can keep an eye on Anxi Town and Wusi Town, but I can’t stop the military edge of Yunling Town!”
