Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 916: Chapter 657: Thousand Cup Intoxication (Part 2)

“Furthermore, our Yang family will seize the throne of Da Rong, but who says we are the ones who snatched the Chen family’s throne.”

A little girl is not worth Yang Zhenshan’s apprehension, but he also didn’t want to raise a thankless wretch.

Even though it was just the first encounter, he could tell that Chen Yan was a smart little girl.

Besides, isn’t Fang An also there?

Fang An is a sensible person; he should know how to instruct Chen Yan.

Yu Qingyi giggled, “Looks like you already have a plan in mind! But who do you plan to make the Emperor?”

Yang Zhenshan thought for a moment and said, “Chengye!”

“Why?” Yu Qingyi was curious.

Yang Zhenshan looked at her, “Because you don’t want Ming Zhao to become the Emperor!”

Yu Qingyi laughed, “That’s right, I still hope that Ming Zhao can cultivate well and reach a higher realm!”

She not only hoped for Yang Mingzhao to become an Innate Martial Artist but also hoped that he could keep pace with her and Yang Zhenshan, reaching a higher state of Martial Arts, that is, beyond the Innate realm.

Though she didn’t know if she and Yang Zhenshan could reach beyond the Innate realm, it did not stop her from hoping.

For someone like her, who is a mother, everything else is fleeting. The most important thing is that her son lives long enough so that she doesn’t have to witness white-haired parents sending off their black-haired children.

Yang Zhenshan continued to explain, “The main reason is that Chengye holds the command of Chongshan Town, and he possesses enough military strength, making it easier for him to unify the country.”

“Yang Mingzhao would need at least twenty years to unify the country; with the limited forces he has under his command, it is still early to end this chaotic era!”

Although Yang Mingzhao and Yang Chengye are uncle and nephew, both part of the Yang family, the two of them are not the same.

Yang Zhenshan passing the title to Yang Chengye means that Yang Chengye inherited Chongshan Town; he represents not just his own interests but those of the entire Chongshan Town.

Including the Yang clan, the Sky Blue Sword Sect, the Tenglong Guard, and many others’ interests.

Yang Mingzhao is indeed Yang Zhenshan’s son, but he has not received Chengshan Town’s recognition; he is just a stranger there.

Not to mention others, even Lu Wenquan and Lin Zhan do not find him familiar.

In contrast, Yang Chengye has already received their recognition, and he is someone they are familiar with.

If Yang Mingzhao were to replace Yang Chengye, it would inevitably lead to some dissatisfaction among people.

Conversely, letting Yang Chengye take over the Taiping Army would be much easier; the Taiping Army was only established a few years ago, and the interests intertwined are not so many, nor are there many forces involved.

At most, only a few people like Chen Buyu representing the Chen family, Li Baoshan representing the Li family, and Li Wenchun.

All the others are people from the Yang family, so there is not much to worry about.

Moreover, Chen Buyu, Li Baoshan, and Li Wenchun are easy to appease; just give them an official position, and they should be satisfied.

If they are not satisfied, Yang Chengye could handle it easily.

Weighing the pros and cons, it’s still more suitable for Yang Chengye to walk the path of imperial power.

…

The residence Yang Zhenshan arranged for Chen Mingxi is quite good; it’s called Osmanthus flower Garden, a place in Divine Wood City specifically for hosting guests.

Although the residence is not large, the scenery is quite nice.

When Yang Zhenshan entered the space, the Liang family also took care of the arrangements for Chen Mingxi; the Liang family is thorough and meticulous. After Ms. Wang moved into the Spiritual Spring Space, Liang has been responsible for handling some household chores.

Actually, she doesn’t need to worry about ordinary matters, mainly needing to handle things when guests arrive.

After arranging things in the Osmanthus flower Garden, the Liang family took their leave first.

At this moment, only the people Chen Mingxi brought with her remained in the Osmanthus flower Garden.

As the princess of Da Rong, Chen Mingxi naturally does not lack servants; she brought over a thousand people to Divine Wood Island this time, in addition to the personal army accompanying her, along with forty to fifty eunuchs and maids.

After the Liang family left, Chen Mingxi’s expression turned somewhat worried.

“Your Highness, the attitude of the Yang family seems not very good!”

In the hall, the nanny by Chen Mingxi’s side said softly.

Chen Mingxi looked up at the lush osmanthus trees in the courtyard and softly said, “Expected!”

“This~~” The nanny’s expression looked a bit unpleasant.

As someone who had served Chen Mingxi all her life, she naturally thought Chen Mingxi was extraordinarily noble.

It was indeed correct to say Chen Mingxi was noble; in Da Rong, Chen Mingxi is an Innate Martial Artist of the royal family, her status only below the Emperor and a few seniors.

Though the Yang family’s attitude towards Chen Mingxi seemed courteous in etiquette, their actual concern was minimal.

The nanny even felt that her princess here was not as important as Chen Yan, the little Commandery Princess.

Indeed, she was not wrong; in Yang Zhenshan’s heart, Chen Mingxi is indeed not as significant as Chen Yan.

Yang Zhenshan and Chen Mingxi are not even casual acquaintances; at most, it’s for the sake of Da Rong.

And Chen Yan was genuinely Yang Zhenshan’s disciple’s grandchild, and she is Chen Zhaoxuan’s only bloodline; Yang Zhenshan would naturally take more care.

“Did you see it?” Chen Mingxi did not mind the nanny’s dissatisfaction but asked.

“See what?” The nanny was somewhat puzzled.

“Prosperity!” Chen Mingxi turned and walked to sit on the armchair in the hall, “This island, Divine Wood, is prosperous, though many parts appear simple, the prosperity of the port is undeniable.”

“So many merchant ships, so many people! All of which declares this is a land of prosperity!”
