Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1822: The Plundering Start (II)

During the teleportation process, Wang Wei discovered one of the flaws of the Mirror Seed: he couldn’t use his spells and techniques — well, not literally. Despite his appearance, he was currently Maitreya, with all her strengths, Dao, and mastery of techniques, but without her ideas, emotions, and morality. However, most of Wang Wei’s techniques were [Immortal Tier], [Quasi-Saint] at best — except for one Saint Art, but that’s only usable under specific circumstances.

While he could technically use his Saint Powers to cast his technique, their effects will not be the same as the skills Maitreya spent countless yuan epochs developing and testing. ”A little troublesome, but it should be enough for the plan,” Wang Wei thought.

The first thing he needed to do was to hide himself. Although the outside should be in chaos, many people probably cannot wait to slaughter him. So, after a brief analysis, Wang Wei cast a technique called [Formless State]. After condensing her Soul Quintessence, most of Maitreya’s technique revolved around the Time Dao, but her primary Dao remained the concept of Formless from Buddhism.

As soon as Wang Wei exited the teleportation, he sensed the chaos outside. There was no light since the sun was gone. Above the sky, dark clouds and spatial tears spread as far as the eyes could see. The laws of Heaven and Earth cried out in agony as these powerful beings destroyed everything in existence. Saint Blood dripped from the sky with every second, trying to drown every sentient being.

Wang Wei recognized many of the people fighting. As he predicted, the expedition and the Infinite Divine Court’s Tribunal Lord temporarily allied with the Primordial Chaos Holy Land to carve out the Heaven Splitting Holy Land.

Boom!

The situation suddenly changed, which alarmed Wang Wei. The Heaven Splitting Holy Land — who was barely holding on — had their situation worsened by a sudden betrayal of their own Saint.

”Leiji, you dare betray us?” a voice roared, resonating with all the vibration between Heaven and Earth.

”You gave me no choice,” Leiji sneered. ”Primordial Pangu is too prideful. He refused to accept Grand Dao’s restriction and still pretends to be dead. Meanwhile, our Pangu is also a ruthless being who refused to be the resource for his other self to revive.”

”There is nothing wrong with that.”

”I agree with you, but he’s too selfish. To defy Grand Dao, he dared to help that kid. But what about us? What about the people who always supported him, no matter what?” Leiji asked, his voice tainted with immense grievance. ”As long as that kid had died, Grand Dao would have granted us the opportunity to fairly compete with our Primordial Self. But what did he do? He still helped that ingrate.”

”Grand Dao cannot be trusted.”

”Of course that bitch can’t be trusted. But there is still some foundation for cooperation,” Leiji sneered. ”But he won’t even do such a small favor for us after everything we’ve done for him.”

”Enough! There is no point in arguing with these traitors. Just kill all of them.”

The battle intensified, but Wang Wei had a pondering look. All the pieces were now together. Grand Dao’s plan was meticulous with numerous outcomes, all of which were acceptable. The first and best outcome was that Primordial Pangu and Hundunxi both accepted Grand Dao’s karmic debt and used the Power Force and Primordial Chaos Force to revive themselves. Wang Wei would suffer Dao Corruption, and the match would have ended in a draw.

The second outcome is that Primordial Pangu refuses the offer, Hundunxi accepts, Wang Wei is corrupted or killed, Lin Fan wins, and Hundunxi uses the Primordial Chaos Force. The Power Force would then be distributed to the remaining Chaos Demon God of the Heaven Splitting Holy Land, who would use its power to increase their strength. Then, following Grand Dao’s agreement, these people would have a fair competition with their true selves.

Unfortunately, a third outcome occurred. Primordial Pangu did not show up, acting as if he were dead. Origin Realm Pangu — who exists in the form of the will of the Power Force — went against the grain and helped Wang Wei escape. Hundunxi accepted the devil’s bargain; the Splitting Heaven Holy Land’s people did not receive their share of the benefit, nor will Grand Dao help them now. More importantly, Pangu’s lineage will suffer as a result of his decision.

”Everything was calculated in advance,” Wang Wei analyzed. ”If the first outcome had occurred, Pangu’s strength would have been enough to stop the Holy Land’s upcoming lineage. If it were the second outcome, the second-step powerhouse — like Mengyungjun — would have drastically increased their strength with the Power Force and have the strength to deal with his invasion.”

Wang Wei glanced at the Erudite Duchess and the other Tribunal Lords. All of them were pawns in this grand scheme, and they probably didn’t know it until the very last moment. Grand Dao used these people’s greed — which originated from the lack of resources in the Primordial Timeline — to turn them into pawns. And considering the resource problem was created by Grand Dao in the first place, Wang Wei had to praise that old witch for her ability.

”How scary would Grand Dao be if she awakens emotions?” Wang Wei thought. A chill ran down his spine as his thought intruded into his mind. He decided to watch out for this in the future. As intelligent as he is, Wang Wei understood that one of his many advantages when dealing with Grand Dao — especially at his current weak strength — was that she lacked emotion and followed the rules. But all of that will be gone if she gains sentience.

Wang Wei stopped staring at the battle in the sky. Time was of the essence, and more importantly, he feared being discovered if he stared too long. However, as soon as he moved his eyes, his mind — which was recently updated by the Soul Path Cultivation — started deducing even more things.

”What if Origin Realm Pangu did not betray his people? What if he wanted to continue this plan to kill me? What if the person who helped me was in fact Primordial Pangu?”

These questions seemed random and popped out of nowhere, but there is a logic to them. According to Wang Wei, if Primordial Pangu is alive, there is only one thing he would care about: the Prehistoric World. Some karma cannot be escaped — even by a Grand Dao Saint. After what Pangu did to the Chaos Demon Gods, it was written in the stars that the Prehistoric World would suffer a catastrophe unlike anything the world has seen.

If Wang Wei is correct that the Prehistoric World is the key to Pangu’s revival, and more importantly, the key to his Transcendent Path, how could he let anyone destroy it? And unfortunately, with his restricted powers in Limbo, Pangu has no better option as a protector than Wang Wei.

”It’s definitely him who helped,” Wang Wei thought. Origin Realm Pangu has no reason to help and even more reason to allow Wang Wei’s death. Without him, Primordial Pangu’s foundation will be destroyed, giving Origin Pangu a chance at replacing the primary body.

”After I sanctify, I need to create a method to kill all my alternate selves once I’m in a state of Limbo or a method to prevent anyone from using them to scheme against me,” Wang Wei thought before sighing. He knew that the latter was challenging, but the former was impossible.

His Transcendent Self was using all the variants as competitors to re-establish his foundation. While Wang Wei believed he could find and kill most of his variants, he probably won’t even be able to detect the existence of those who have the potential to replace him in case he fails.

”Forget it,” he thought, refusing to think about that for now. Observing his surroundings, his eyebrow raised slightly. ”The destruction is not as bad as I thought,” he thought. A powerful array protected the Heaven Splitting Holy Land from the devastation of this battle. However, everyone knew this was nothing but a temporary solution. As the situation intensifies, the entire holy land will likely be reduced to rubble.

Wang Wei took notice of his surroundings before executing his plan; he did not return to his Holy Son Mansion, head to the library, or the sect’s treasury. Instead, he sensed the maid’s position.

”Is she in the prison? It would have been ideal if she had left the sect, but I didn’t have much hope in the first place,” Wang Wei thought. He told Fangjin to send her away from the sect to get her away from the danger, and because he could use her as a spatial coordinate to run away in case something happened to his Void Breaking Talisman.

Sadly, Wang Wei knew these old foxes of the sect wouldn’t allow anyone to enter or leave the sect so close to the battle. The only reason the maid was cruelly interrogated and searched from head to toe was that it was so close to the battle. Of course, Wang Wei chose that date for that very reason.

Without wasting any time, Wang Wei headed to the library. He will not feel relieved if his spirit particle or any connection to him remains in the sect before he starts his plan.
