Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1814: Already Force To Use A Trumpcard?

Wang Wei glanced at Lin Fan and sighed, ”It’s been a while since I’ve had a heart-pumping body refining battle. Unfortunately, we can’t just take the time to enjoy ourselves.”

As someone considered a double-path cultivator of Qi and Body Refining, Wang Wei must admit he has been neglecting his body refinement for a while. In the early stages of cultivation, he relied heavily on his flesh, even creating a fighting style that involved punching everything into submission.

In the middle stages, there was a balance between the Qi Refining and Body Refining Methods. However, in the late stages, Qi Refining took priority while Body Refining became a supplement. If not for his fighting style already established, people might have thought he was a pure Qi Refiner.

It doesn’t help that the Body Refining Path has been co-opted in the Primordial Timeline, forcing them to rely on the Six Grand Constructs in the Primal Stage. So, even when fighting with others of his kind, it always felt like another battle between dual-path individuals, not between two body refiners.

”I understand your sentiment. But I also noticed the underlying meanings of your words,” Lin Fan sneered. ”You think you have the strength to finish this battle swiftly, don’t you?”

”The truth is you haven’t truly caught you to me, and you know it,” Wang Wei calmly stated. How vast was the difference in their cultivation before this battle? Although it was a great achievement for Lin Fan to swiftly become a 5-star Ancestral Fiendgod and even a Soul Ancestor, sadly, he had spent all of his time on his cultivation.

Meanwhile, Wang Wei had reached the limit of these realms and had time to refine his technique, fighting style, and even walk far in his journey of condensing the Supreme Saint Will Prototype. No matter how talented Lin Fan is, no matter how much teaching he receives from a third-step powerhouse, no matter how many resources the holy land gave him, he couldn’t escape the shackles of time. In such a short time, his achievements cannot catch up with Wang Wei’s, especially when the latter is also making rapid progress.

Lin Fan cracked his neck. ”You speak the truth, but we both know that a battle is not determined by cultivation level. I acknowledge there is a difference in our cultivation, but it’s not insurmountable. I still have a chance in this battle.”

Wang Wei glanced at him for a few seconds, smiling with his eyes. ”I admire your optimism.” He never thought he could convince the latter to give up this fight. At their level, their willpower is so terrifying that few things can dissuade them when they’ve made up their mind. Not to mention, this battle also held other significance for Lin Fan; he saw it as a way to make up for his past regret of not participating in the Heaven Will Battle.

Wang Wei’s actions were a small gamble. He wanted to subtly implant a reason for Lin Fan to accept his defeat in this battle. As such, when he is pushed to his limit, he can gracefully accept defeat and not use the power of Hundunxi. Of course, as a master manipulator, Wang Wei knew that his action might instead backfire. When pushed to the limit, Lin Fan’s desire to win might force him to do whatever is necessary.

Wang Wei exhaled to enter a state of ultimate concentration. He then cast the only fighting technique from the [Force Control Skill] that he developed after mastering the Soul Ancestor Realm:

[Absolute Control Domain]

Despite its name, the technique was not technically a domain, more like a state of mind or being. Wang Wei wasn’t able to enter the [Saint Control] level yet, but he created this technique to access a minuscule portion of its power.

Bang!

”What?” Lin Fan questioned as a terrifying power pushed him countless years away from his position. He clashed through countless trees, mountains, and forests. What’s more, he could not stop the momentum, no matter how much force he used.

Wang Wei appeared above his head and stomped on him. However, this was not a kick that just sent him crashing to the ground. Instead, Wang Wei used his immense strength to push his opponent into the earth, dragging him millions of miles underground.

”This bastard is using my own strength against me,” Lin Fan thought. For both of those attacks, he used some of his best defensive techniques, so why were they essentially useless? At first, he thought Wang Wei had somehow overpowered him, or more likely, nullified his defense. However, after the kick, he finally understood what was happening.

No, the bastard’s control is not just over his own strength, but over all [Forces]. So, as soon as their attacks clashed, Lin Fan sensed that Wang Wei took control of over 90% of his defensive technique to power his punches and kicks. Lin Fan was lucky. If not for his Heavenly Dao Soul, he wouldn’t have retained that 10%.

Lin Fan gritted his teeth as he tried to get out of his situation. But no matter what method he used or what brilliant application of his skills he tried, Wang Wei always forcefully took control of 90% of his power. Ultimately, Lin Fan was dragged for millions of miles underground until they broke through an unknown layer or boundary.

Did they enter the underworld or Samsara? No. In this world, even a saint cannot easily reach Samsara by digging through the earth. Their location was just a small pocket space influenced by the underworld, and thus was filled with Yin Energy.

Lin Fan reacted swiftly. Since Wang Wei was above him, he reached the Yin Layer a microsecond earlier than the latter. Using this short window of opportunity, he gathered all the Yin Energy possible to condense an armor, before adding a bit of Yang Energy into the mix to create a Yin-Yang Armor to counter Wang Wei’s power. The decision to use foreign power to aid him was a brilliant move, one that allowed for his escape.

Wang Wei glanced at the surroundings but did not pay attention. Although there were countless wailing souls — most likely from former Holy Sons who perished in the generational battle of the holy lands — he didn’t care. With one swift motion, he controlled all the Yin Energy in the room. Lin Fan tried to resist, but while his current state allowed him to retain 10% of his own power, that’s only because the source of his strength is Primordial Chaos — something he is intimately familiar with. However, when competing for the Yin energy, he couldn’t even retain even 1%.

Lin Fan changed tactics, deciding to attack from afar instead of directly clashing with him. According to his calculation, such an approach should reduce the amount of control Wang Wei has over him. Right now, he needs time and as much strength as possible to come up with a solution.

Wang Wei’s Yin Palm Strike was terrifying. As soon as it hit, half of Lin Fan’s body froze into an ice statue. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. The attack directly attacked his soul, and it contained a terrifying physical force that once again sent him flying.

Luckily, Lin Fan was prepared this time around. As soon as his body flew a decent enough distance, the instructions he had instilled in the Yin-Yang Armor began operating. The Yang Energy opened a space portal behind Lin Fan, teleporting him away from this battlefield. The residual power hid all of Lin Fan’s aura, preventing anyone from easily detecting his presence.

Meanwhile, the Yin energy not only blocked the space, but it also created trillions of void residue, trying to hide Lin Fan’s teleportation destination. Lin Fan only needed a few seconds — a few seconds to think and strategize, a few seconds to heal both his physical and mental injuries. But will he get what he desires?

Lin Fan found himself in the starry sky, close to an all-water planet. Without hesitation, he started absorbing the Star Power in this cosmos to aid him in his injuries. The enemy’s Saint Will Prototype was not deep enough, so he only needed a few seconds to return to his peak state.

Boom!

A causality strike that ignored space and distance hit Lin Fan, sending him crashing on the planet. Before landing, the Yin Energy from Wang Wei’s previous attack instantly froze all the water on the planet. Afterward, Lin Fan’s body pierced through the planets and everything else in the star system that was in his way. It was not only after flying through more than a dozen galaxies that he finally had room to breathe.

”Boy, there is no point to continue competing with him in a battle of skills: you’ve lost,” Hundunxi’s voice echoed in Lin Fan’s mind. ”Use one of your trump cards and use absolute power to crush him. That may be your only opportunity for victory.”
