Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1806: Soul Light

Soul Aperture Tower, Fourth Level:

All paths lead to the same destination. The process of entering the Soul Ancestral Realm is no different from the Ancestral Fiendgod Realm: combining the three apertures into one while utilizing the three Saint Foundations to break the limit of the Soul.

Wang Wei’s unique soul could be separated into 1.269 billion particles. After so many years, he thought this was the limit, but after entering the Soul Ancestor Realm, another particle appeared. This one change might seem insignificant, but he knew this was a fundamental transformation. After that, one additional particle appeared more and more.

Without reservation, he absorbed as many Spirit Sources as possible to increase his cultivation. A few yuan epochs passed, and finally, Wang Wei condensed 1.269 trillion spirit particles, his soul reaching another level. Now, using only his soul, he could fight an SSS Level Primal.

”My mind is so clear,” Wang Wei thought. With more particles, his thinking speed had dramatically improved. Not to mention all the other benefits of a powerful soul. ”I feel like I might have a chance to reach the [Saint Control] in the [Force Control Skill].”

His eyes shone with excitement. If he could reach such a level, his strength would truly be unparalleled in the [Immortal Stage. However, he might not succeed. If it takes too long to achieve, Wang Wei will not waste time and will just sanctify. Anyway, he was confident his achievements and accolades were enough to support a 13-pillar foundation.

The next step of the cultivation plan was not about the Saint Will Prototype; for a while now, it wouldn’t be. First, Wang Wei focused on mastering his new strength, and what better way to do this than to upgrade the [Force Control Skill]. Using the Dream Battle Technique, Wang Wei fought countless powerful individuals relying solely on his Soul Power. Battle was the best way to rapidly increase the mastery of his powers and even upgrade his technique.

The second step was the Harmony of Man and Dao. The Soul Ancestor and Ancestral Fiendgod Realm needed to be in perfect harmony to ensure they work together in a system in which one plus one is greater than two. Once that was done, the Harmony of Man was perfected, and Wang Wei proceeded to harmonize it with the Dao.

The final result was not perfect. Without access to his Grand Dao Source, Wang Wei’s strength did not reach its full potential. The good news is that he used this time to deepen his mastery of the Innate, Heaven, and Primordial Laws; he even dabbled in the unique Origin Law of this world, which is their version of the Grand Dao Source. However, Wang Wei ensured he did not leave his imprint in this world’s Origin Law or let it leave any mark or trace in his soul or body.

He was smart enough to understand that as soon as he touched on this world’s Fate Origin Law, the danger he would face would be astronomically higher. The competition for the Dao is the most ruthless thing between Heaven and Earth. For their path, it’s normal for mothers to kill their children, for brothers to kill each other, and for partners to betray their soul mates. Wang Wei believes without a doubt that if the benefits are enough, Mingyunjun will ignore the holy’s grand goal and betray them. So, the last thing he wanted to do was to give him such temptation.

Finally, after everything reached a point of saturation or satisfaction, he focused on the Soul Will. Just like creating the soul aperture technique, condensing a Soul Will is an easy thing for Wang Wei. In his cultivation journey, he has dabbled in the Will Techniques to deal with more skilled opponents than him; that’s why he has things such as Fate Will, Time Will, Yin-Yang Will, and more, in his arsenal. However, he faced the same issue when he was creating the Soul Aperture Technique: these wills lacked the higher essence — they cannot compete with a Saint Will Prototype, they can barely compete with Dao Will or Willpower Manifestation, but they do share their potentials.

”What is the essence of the soul?” Wang Wei asked himself. In an instant, he entered a trance, and his mind became incredibly clear; all the secrets and answers of the universe were laid before him, and he was asked to choose which one he wanted.

”The Dao stands above all, above the essence, spirit, and qi; thus, the Saint Will possesses the innate ability to suppress all Phenomena. The path of Essence Refining pushes the body to the limit and forges a will capable of enough to defy fate — a will capable of rejecting all phenomena capable of harming an Essence Refiner; it’s a path of survival. What about the spirit path?”

The trillions of spirit particles in Wang Wei’s Sea of Consciousness worked at a terrifying speed to aid him in this epiphany. All the knowledge and understanding of his past served as the database from which he calculated or deduced the truth he desired.

”The mind is the outer manifestation of the soul; it controls external phenomena such as body movement, actions, and deeds. The spirit is in the inner manifestation, controlling internal phenomena such as thoughts, ideas, and imagination. Willpower is the foundation of the spirit, controlling the reaction to the external environment; it dictates drives, ambitions, bouncing from failures, rising to challenges, and everything that makes the self fulfilling.”

A bright golden light appeared on Wang Wei’s brow as he delved deeper into his epiphany. His understanding of the [Spirit] was rising at an alarming rate. Even if this epiphany fails and he does not conduct the Saint Will, his current understanding should help him finish his Soul Quintessence Method as soon as possible.

”Mind, spirit, and will combined can form the soul. And the essence of the Soul is [Control]; control the body, control action, control thoughts, control ideas, and control Heaven and Earth. The essence of the Soul Will is to [Control All Phenomena].”

The golden light in Wang Wei’s brow became even brighter before condensing into a luminous star. Anyone who glanced at him would think a star was shining in the middle of the day. The light disappeared into his Sea of Consciousness, and the world around Wang Wei changed.

He saw everything. The first was the Laws of Heaven and Earth. Everything was connected, like a tangled web with a strict hierarchy. He saw the regular laws of Heaven and Earth, followed by Innate and Heaven Laws on the second level. The Primordial and Chaos Laws reigned supreme on the third layer, and the source of all the laws — the Origin Laws — was at the top of the hierarchy.

The second was the River of Time; it was woven under the very fabric of reality. The lower stream of the river was completely inaccessible; a truly terrifying will blocked anyone trying to swim across to reach the pass. And just like the Primordial Time, the upper stream of the river was illusory with too many branches to count.

Deep underground, in a place so far underneath the earth that even a Primordial Saint probably could not reach, even if they dug for millions of years, Wang Wei saw a world of the dead. Yin Qi spread to every corner of this world’s existence, and the wailing sound of a tormented soul echoed every passing second.

Finally, Wang Wei saw a hidden shadow. It exists in every sentient being; when they breathe, when they walk, when they think, when they suddenly have an idea, when they make a decision — big or small — there is this hidden shadow that’s always present. It doesn’t always interfere with these actions or choices, but it’s there, and it has the power to.

”Fate,” Wang Wei murmured. He understood why he had never sensed this world’s Grand Construct. It’s not only because his mind or soul did not meet the requirements, but also because these constructs are different from the Primordial Timeline. Back home, the Grand Constructs are in a semi-detached state. They are a part of the greater Chaos Universe, but they remained relatively independent and had great freedom. Meanwhile, the constructs are completely fused into the greater universe, functioning as one operating system.

”This world forbids access to the Grand Constructs, which makes life safer for both mortals and cultivators — especially against Saints. However, it also makes cultivating in the Saint Realm even more difficult.” The Transcendent Path is a method of breaking free from the influence of these Grand Constructs, which are manifestations of truly powerful concepts such as space-time, death, and fate.

In the Primordial Timeline, cultivators start interacting with these constructs in the Great Emperor Realm, maybe even earlier. Yet, in this world, most people will do so only at the Saint Realm unless they also have a Soul Ancestor Realm cultivation method.

Wang Wei did not focus too much on these constructs, but he took notice of the fact that he still hadn’t detected this world’s Heavenly Dao or Grand Dao. His efforts were successful; he condensed a power similar to the first-stage Dao Will and Willpower Manifestation.

”What should I call it? Soul Will?” Wang Wei asked himself. ”The Dao is simple, so it’s fine for its manifestation to be called Dao Will. But for the soul, I should probably give it a name similar to Willpower Manifestation. Hmm, a light appeared in my brow during the process, and the essence of this power is control; so, how about the Light of Command? The Light of Manipulation?”
