Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1578: The Grand Unified Will

”How are the negotiations with the Divine Faith Heaven?” Old Man Black Chess suddenly asked, looking at a middle-aged man dressed in martial clothes, short hair, a goatee, and a scar on his cheek.

”It’s going well,” Paragon Red Ax answered. ”These gods seemed eager for the alliance.”

”If you have something to say, say it,” Old Man Black Chess said.

”Are you sure about this? You know how some of these gods can be. Are you sure we can get along with them?” Red Ax asked. The problem with the Divine Path was not just the negative effect of faith, but also the fact that these gods spent eons with trillions of people worshiping and telling them that they were the best thing that Heaven and Earth had created. Such an environment makes them highly susceptible to becoming narcissists, arrogant, or prideful.

”Did you notice something during your meeting?”

”Yes. A few of them were looking at us as if we were their new property.”

Old Man Black Chess squinted.”So, you think we should ally with the Skill Path Association instead?”

”Honestly, I don’t trust these people as well. It’s obvious they want to use us to farm resources for them,” Red Axe shook his head.

”That’s exactly their goal, and they didn’t try to hide it,” Old Man Black Chess said as he moved a few more pieces.

”If you know this, then why are we considering allying with them?”

”They have their goals, and we have ours,” Old Man Black Chess said. The primary thing he wants from the alliance is to use the Skill Path Association to cultivate a few professionals for the exchange hall’s inner member, which Old Man Black Chess will eventually take away.

”What do you want me to do?” Red Axe asked. Their leader has rarely been wrong in these situations, so he — along with many others — trusted the latter’s decision.

”We need allies, but we also don’t want to be graveling. So, we will use the existence of one to get more out of the negotiation with the other,” Old Man Black Chess said. Once the Divine Faith Heaven knows the hall has an opportunity to ally with the association, Old Man Black Chess can use this opportunity to bargain for more resources and power in their negotiation. He can also use the same tactic for the association.

”But you need to be discreet,” Old Man Black Chess continued. ”The last thing we need is for the other Overlords or the Primal Lineages to hear of this alliance.”

”You know you can count on me,” Red Axe nodded.

Disaster Relief Division:

Sage Rune Halo was a handsome middle-aged man with thick, black hair streaked with white on the sides. His black beard was short, only 4 inches from his chin, but it also had streaks of white on the side. He wore a deep blue robe with powerful shoulder pads that made his already 7-foot-tall presence even more intimidating. Runes formed a semicircle from one of his shoulders to another, forming a halo behind him.

He slowly flew to the designated area, where he saw Wang Bo already waiting.

”Sage,” Wang Bo cupped his hand to salute.

Rune Halo calmly nodded to him, not out of respect for the latter’s skill, but because of who he represented. Wang Bo did not mind since he already knew the world of professionals was very elitist and hierarchical.

And nothing showed that when Wu Hong arrived. Sage Rune Halo’s poster became straighter, and he was the first one to salute Wu Hong. ”We don’t have much time, so let’s get started.”

Wu Hong summoned an artifact in the shape of a cube and activated it. The two then teleported to a desolate world with an enormous spatial gap in the sky. As soon as they laid eyes on it, they held their breath merely due to the leaking aura.

”Is this the power of a Primordial Saint?” Sage Rune Halo muttered, looking at the spatial tear with awe and longing. He was not the only one. Wu Hong and Wang Bo knew that transcendents were powerful, but it was something else to face their power.

’When I used the Dao Quintessence, my strength was probably only on par with three Foundation Pillars, and most of the boost was from the Human Destiny Sword. Alone, I’m probably on par with Supreme Unity and Maiteya pre-foundation reinforcement,’ Wu Hong analyzed.

”Alright, let’s focus,” Wu Hong said, waking up everybody from their awe. They received this item to gain a better understanding of the devastating power of Primordial Saints and to design a way to deal with the aftermath.

”The traces left seemed to be a permanent combination of the soul and the True Will?” Sage Rune Halo commented.

”Yes, and that power seemed to be naturally suppressing the void and preventing it from healing,” Wang Bo added as his eyes turned into runes to observe the essence of this tear.

”It’s not just suppressing the void, but the Spatial Heaven Laws that Heavenly Dao uses to regulate Heaven and Earth,” Wu Hong commented.

”Hmm?” Sage Rune Halo squinted before activating the Rune Halo behind him. A pair of rune glasses manifested before his eyes, and he observed intensely at the tear.

”Yes, you’re right,” he nodded. ”It’s even suppressing Heavenly Dao’s Will.” Just as Primarch’s Heavenly Laws are boosted by Heavenly Dao’s Will, the true Heavenly Laws that regulate the world are also laced with this will to ensure automatic operations.

Wang Bo had to modify his rune eye technique for a while before he could see what those two saw, but he eventually did. He was glad he had drastically improved by studying the Time Boats, and received an additional lesson from Wu Hong when she helped create the copies.

”How are we supposed to deal with such a thing?” Sage Rune Halo asked.

”We could try reinforcing Heavenly Dao’s Will to force out the Transcendent Will,” Wang Bo suggested.

”You saw it yourself. While the Transcendent Power is only a trace left, it has a semi-consciousness, meaning it will resist elimination,” Sage Rune Halo shook his head. The confrontation of Heavenly Dao Will and the Transcendent Power would result in even more destruction to the space.

”Not if Heavenly Dao’s Will is strengthened sufficiently. After all, the transcendent power is just a trace — it has no connection or source to preserve itself,” Wang Bo added.

”And how do you expect us to strengthen Heavenly Dao Will?” Sage Rune Halo asked, making Wang Bo frown. He had no answer.

”Then, what’s your idea?”

”I think it’s more feasible to banish the transcendent power into one of the Grand Constructs. By removing them as an obstacle, the Heavenly Law can operate as needed. Or better yet, we can help heal the tears and save World Sources.”

”That is a safer approach,” Wang Bo admitted. ”But the question is still, how are we going to exile such a power?”

”It’s just a trace of power, meaning it’s still within our limit to deal with,” Sage Rune Halo calmly replied. Heavenly Dao Will was still a Transcendent Tier existence, so compared to dealing with it, his approach was safer and much more achievable.

”A collective will,” Wu Hong said.

”Pardon me?”

”That’s how we strengthen Heavenly Dao Will,” she continued. ”We build a formation blessed by Saint Maitreya’s True Will and every other Paragon’s Dao Will, Willpower Manifestation, or True Will. When necessary, this Grand Unified Will can strengthen Heavenly Dao to deal with these traces of transcendent power.”

”Are you sure about this?” Sage Rune Halo asked. ”This seems like a lot of work for a much simpler problem.”

”You’re not seeing far enough ahead,” Wu Hong continued. ”A strengthened Heavenly Dao Will doesn’t have to remove or exile these transcendent powers. Instead, it can purify them before converting them into World Sources.”

Sage Rune Halo and Wang Bo squinted after hearing her words. The implication of such a formation is drastically different than what they were thinking. If Heavenly Dao had this ability, it meant that every time a Saint fought and ravaged the world, the aftermath would become an opportunity to strengthen the world.

And that’s not mentioning the merit they will receive for completing such a formation.

”Brilliant idea,” Wang Bo praised.

”I agree, but are you sure we should give Heavenly Dao so much power?” Sage Rune Halo said. The strengthened Heavenly Dao Will also meant it could be used against Primordial Saints, and no one wanted to be restricted or controlled.

”The formation will still be under our command, and we can design that if Heavenly Dao tries to usurp it, we can take away our blessing,” Wu Hong explained. She understood better how things can go wrong for this kind of thing. For example, the highest control of the Hong Protection System was taken away by Heavenly Dao as soon as it was created. So, Wu Hong would not make the same mistake twice.

”Let’s design an outline to show to the Saint,” Wu Hong said.
