I Married the President

Chapter 535: Chapter 535: Come Back Quickly

Realizing something, Claire Sinclair couldn’t stop herself from asking, ”What did he do to you?”

”Heh...” Ivy Tanner let out a laugh, her smile cruel and hopeless. ”He had his men force a drugged drink down my throat, then threw me onto a bed. Luckily, I managed to get out of the room just in time. Another woman wandered in by mistake, and that fool ended up disfiguring her. I heard... she was also assaulted.”

”How dare he! That’s unforgivable!” For a moment, Claire Sinclair was so furious she wanted to call him up and curse him out.

Ivy Tanner said suddenly, ”After that... I ended up with Ethan Kingsley.”

”What???” Claire Sinclair stared blankly, finding it hard to believe.

Ivy Tanner slowly lowered her head. She was silent for a long time before finally speaking. ”He still doesn’t know it was me. He thinks it was Corinne Linden. But I can’t hide this for long. The moment he checks the security footage, he’ll know what happened.”

This time, it was Claire Sinclair’s turn to fall silent.

No matter how clever she was, even she was at a complete loss when faced with something like this.

An uneasy silence fell between them.

After what felt like an eternity, Ivy Tanner spoke again. ”If he takes me back, I won’t survive for long. He already wants me dead. Claire Sinclair, I want to live. I don’t want to die. Please, help me.”

Claire Sinclair’s heart began to race with panic, but she was just as helpless. ”Okay, don’t panic,” she said. ”I’ll call Mr. Quincy and ask for his help.”

”Will that be fast enough? I’m afraid Ethan Kingsley is almost here,” said Ivy Tanner.

Claire Sinclair patted the back of her hand. ”Don’t worry. This whole community is filled with men from Quincy Manor. No matter how capable Ethan Kingsley is, he can’t just force his way into my home.”

”Then please, call him quickly.”

Claire Sinclair nodded, grabbed her phone, and called the Great Demon King Quincy. ”Mr. Quincy, I’ve run into a little trouble. Well, to be more precise, Third Miss Tanner is in trouble. I don’t want to let Ethan Kingsley take her away. Can you help us?”

She rarely asked this man for help, but this time, she truly needed it.

Adrian Quincy’s voice was low and steady. ”Don’t panic. I’ll send more men over to you right away.”

”Uh...” Claire Sinclair was still worried. ”But what if he gets here before your men do and tries to take her by force?”

”He can try forcing his way in... unless he has a death wish.”

Hearing the Great Demon King Quincy’s commanding warning, Claire Sinclair finally let out a sigh of relief. ”Okay, then. I’ll trust you this time.”

”I’ll head over myself,” Adrian Quincy said.

”Huh?”

”Wait for me.”

”Okay!”

Hanging up, Claire Sinclair turned to Ivy Tanner, her face alight with pleasant surprise. ”Mr. Quincy is on his way! We’re saved!”

Hearing this, Ivy Tanner couldn’t help but smile. ”The way you say that, it sounds like we’re in the same boat.”

Claire Sinclair smiled back. ”Aren’t we?”

Ivy Tanner nodded. ”I suppose we are. You’re so good to me.”

Claire Sinclair was about to say something more when she caught sight of Ivy’s neck out of the corner of her eye. Her brow furrowed instantly. ”Why don’t you go take a shower first? We’re about the same size, so my clothes should fit you.”

”Uh... yes. I need to take a shower. I really want to take a shower!” Ivy Tanner stood up.

Claire Sinclair led her upstairs to the guest bathroom. After Ivy went in to shower, Claire found a set of clean loungewear and hung it on the bathroom door.

Just then, an urgent alarm blared from the hallway.

The villa had been retrofitted with a special security system. That particular alarm meant someone was at the door, and the system could identify them. The alert for a friend sounded different from the one for a foe.

’Ethan Kingsley. It has to be him!’
