I Married the President

Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Femme Fatale

Peter Sinclair snapped, ”I’d love to, but that damn girl Claire refuses to come home. What am I supposed to do!”

”There are plenty of ways, Uncle. If you trust me, leave this to me. I guarantee I can get your son-in-law-to-be released.”

Peter Sinclair’s interest was immediately piqued. ”What do you have in mind?”

”You’re Claire Sinclair’s father, so you must have a way to get her to come home. Tomorrow night, bring her to The Monarch Grand Hotel. Young Master Quincy has a function there, and I’ll arrange for her to meet him.”

”But the problem is, that damn girl Claire never listens to me. Even if she meets Young Master Quincy, it’ll be hard to get her to bring it up!”

Seth Payne smiled faintly and whispered something in his ear.

Peter Sinclair looked shocked as he listened, but he finally nodded.

Seth Payne patted his shoulder and stood up. ”It’s getting late, Uncle. Don’t drink too much. You should head home so your family doesn’t worry.”

”Right, right. I’m heading out now...”

Peter Sinclair placed a hundred-yuan bill on the table and staggered away.

A moment later, Seth Payne also left the small restaurant.

He walked to a black sedan parked at the curb, opened the door, and got into the back seat.

In the back seat sat a distinguished man who carried himself with a gentle and refined air. He was handsome and clearly extraordinary.

Seth Payne reported in a low voice, ”Young Master Kingsley, it’s done.”

This was Ethan Kingsley, head of Aridia’s largest conglomerate, the Westflame Group. He was also a presidential candidate, ranked just behind Adrian Quincy. And he was a ruthless man.

Everything Seth Payne had just done had been orchestrated by this man.

The car slowly pulled away.

Seth Payne couldn’t help but ask, ”Young Master Kingsley, do you think Adrian Quincy will fall for it?”

The corners of Ethan Kingsley’s lips curved into a smile as warm as sunshine, but his deep voice was ice-cold. ”Claire Sinclair and Quinn Sinclair are identical. I refuse to believe he won’t have any feelings for this woman. It’s just a pity... such a beautiful pair of sisters, both ruined by the same man.”

Seth Payne said, ”There are countless good women in the world. You can have any woman you want, Young Master Kingsley. There’s no need to pity someone like her.”

”Heh...” he chuckled. ”That fiery phoenix, Quinn Sinclair, always gave me the cold shoulder when she was alive. I wonder if she’d jump out of her grave if I put her little sister into Adrian Quincy’s bed and then snatched the girl away for my own amusement.”

Seth Payne: ”...”

’Such a twisted desire for revenge... Probably only Young Master Kingsley would think of something like this.’

...

「Early evening.」

Claire Sinclair went by herself to a supermarket near Evergreen Garden, filling a shopping cart with groceries.

As she was heading to the checkout, she remembered she’d forgotten to grab some pads.

The moment she turned, her cart suddenly slammed into another one with a loud crash.

”CRASH—”

Countless pairs of curious eyes turned to look.

Claire wished she could find a hole to crawl into. She apologized profusely, ”I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to!”

”What a coincidence. I didn’t mean to, either.” Ethan Kingsley watched the cute, flustered girl with amusement, his voice refined and captivating.

’As expected of twins. They really are identical.’

’Compared to her sister, this one’s eyes are more alluring. There’s a vulnerability to her that could make a man fall for her at first sight, easily stirring his protective instincts.’

’This type of woman is the most dangerous of all. Once a man gets entangled with her, it’s nearly impossible to break free.’

’A classic femme fatale.’

When Claire got a clear look at his face, her eyes widened. ”You’re... wait, what was your name again? Ian Kingsley?”
