I Married the President

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Quick, Let Me In

’Women are easy to tame once you get their clothes off,’ he thought. ’That two million is as good as mine!’

The thought of getting his hands on two million yuan and a girl excited Logan Linden to no end. He smirked and said, ”Alright, I’ll take you to Quincy Manor right now.”

As he spoke, his wandering hand landed directly on the girl’s shoulder.

Disgusted, Claire Sinclair shrugged his hand off. ”I can walk by myself.”

Logan Linden just chuckled and let her take a few steps. As expected, she couldn’t stay upright for long and had to rely on him to help her downstairs and into his car.

The car drove off...

Claire Sinclair sat in the back seat, the effects of the drug still coursing through her.

’Damn it, I’m not going to last much longer!’

’No, I have to hold on!’

Driven by sheer force of will, Claire Sinclair endured the entire ride until the car finally arrived outside Quincy Manor.

Claire Sinclair was the first one out of the car, stumbling and running toward the Quincy Manor guard post.

Logan Linden had been fantasizing the entire drive. When he got out, he was feeling so cocky and sure that she couldn’t escape that he didn’t match her pace. He walked at a leisurely speed, trying to maintain a gentlemanly air.

With trembling hands, Claire Sinclair fumbled in her pocket for a marriage certificate and handed it to the sentry at the gate, saying urgently, ”I’m Claire Sinclair. I need to see Mr. Quincy.”

The sentry took the certificate and scanned it quickly, a flash of surprise in his eyes. ”Miss Sinclair,” he said politely, ”please wait here a moment. I need to go inside and report this.”

Claire Sinclair gritted her teeth and urged, ”Please, hurry.”

The sentry nodded and jogged into the manor.

Claire Sinclair’s vision was blurring, and her body had gone so limp she could barely stand. She reached out to brace herself against the gate, her head resting weakly against the iron bars.

Logan Linden walked up, his gaze skipping past Claire Sinclair to the solemn and dignified Quincy Manor.

This place was a symbol of supreme power, the dream of every man. Anyone who worked here, even a guard at the gate, was an impressive figure.

Logan Linden dreamed of working in a place like this, but sadly, he didn’t have what it took. All he could do was admire it from afar.

He soon reached Claire Sinclair’s side. Unable to suppress his greed and sense of masculine superiority, he turned and asked her, ”What did they say?”

”Wait,” Claire Sinclair said through gritted teeth. ”Someone’s gone to report it.”

The words had barely left her mouth when the staff member who had gone to report her arrival ran back, panting, ”Miss Sinclair, please, come in quickly.”

Before she could speak, Logan Linden cut in, ”My girlfriend isn’t feeling well. I need to go in with her to take care of her.”

The staff member gave him an expressionless glance and said coldly, ”Unauthorized individuals are not permitted to enter the manor, nor are they allowed to linger at the gate. Please wait over to the side.”

Logan Linden was completely shut down. At the same time, he vaguely sensed that something wasn’t right.

Claire Sinclair seized the opportunity and said urgently to the sentry, ”Let me in, quickly!”

The staff member nodded, signaling for the gatekeeper to open the gate.

The electronic gate slid open automatically, and Claire Sinclair hurried inside with the guard.

Logan Linden narrowed his eyes, clenching his fists in frustration.

’Damn it,’ he thought. ’I’ve been had!’

He had planned for every contingency, but he never calculated that she could get into Quincy Manor so easily while he was barred from entry.

’This is no place to linger. I’ll get even with that bitch later.’

Logan Linden immediately walked back to his car and drove away.

...

Walking on the understatedly luxurious marble floors, Claire Sinclair felt a natural air of majesty and tranquility. Even the air seemed to carry an aura of integrity. This was the place where her sister worked.
