BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

”Hmm… why don’t we go to the Dragon Tomb afterward?” Zi Yan suggested, her tone confident and disdainful. ”I have to bring the senior’s soul back anyway, and that place holds the purest Dragon Qi of our tribe. Let’s see if that little Ancient Heaven Serpent still dares to act wild there.”

”That’s fine by me,” Liu Xi replied with a grin. ”But since we’re still inside the Dou Saint Relic, we might as well keep raiding before this place collapses.”

”Right—raid everything!” Zi Yan’s eyes brightened, her enthusiasm ignited again. The Dou Saint Relic had already yielded treasures like the Dragon Phoenix Origin Fruit—it was almost too incredible to believe.

Laughing and chatting, the three left the Beast Spiritual Barrier and returned first to the medicinal forest within the herb garden—still brimming with untouched treasure.

Liu Xi reached out and plucked a radiant Blood Heart Lotus, his eyes gleaming faintly. ”Good quality. Worth taking.” Not far away, a cluster of Azure Spirit Fruits swayed gently, their fragrance spreading through the mist. Zi Yan didn’t even hesitate before snatching them all into her ring.

Deeper within, Liu Xi spotted a clump of twisted roots glimmering faintly with dual-colored light. ”Twin-Heart Ginseng…” he murmured. ”A mutated strain—one that doesn’t appear even once in ten thousand years.” Naturally, he took it without hesitation. Soon after, the three arrived at a small island in the center of a tranquil lake, where several strange fruits hung from a single short tree, radiating a soothing spiritual aura.

”Soul Infant Fruit,” Liu Xi said softly. ”A fine treasure—it can restore one’s Soul Origin.” Though he didn’t need it personally, something that could nurture the soul was too precious to leave behind.

Using his palm as a blade, Liu Xi sliced off a piece of the fruit tree’s branch and crafted a simple wooden box. He carefully placed two Soul Infant Fruits inside, then stored it in his spatial ring with satisfaction.

After acquiring the Soul Infant Fruit and rewarding the lake’s guardian beast with a handful of blood-tempering pills, the group continued their sweep through the garden. They encountered a vast patch of Demon Millet Flowers, their bewitching fragrance capable of luring the unwary into endless illusions. Zi Yan wrinkled her nose, yet still waved her hand, collecting them all.

The trio continued their ”sweep” through the herb garden.

Soon after, Liu Xi found a few jade-colored fruits growing beneath a collapsed pavilion. ”Human Origin Fruits,” he identified them instantly. ”Only three, but rare even among the relics of a Dou Saint.” Those too vanished into his ring before long.

By the time they finished, every high-grade medicinal plant in the herb garden had been collected clean. Zi Yan’s ring overflowed with herbs, Liu Xi’s expression was calm but satisfied, and even Qing Lin’s quiet eyes reflected wonder at the mountain of treasures they’d gathered. Only then did they finally, and somewhat reluctantly, leave the herb garden behind.

Meanwhile, outside, word of an ancient relic’s emergence in the Beast Bone Mountain Range had already spread like wildfire.

And ancient meant one thing: mystery, power, and wealth.

Every time a relic of this level appeared in the Central Plains, it triggered a storm—and this time was no exception. The first to arrive were the beast tribes.

The mountain range had long been the territory of the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe. Upon hearing the news, they immediately dispatched their strongest to claim the relic for themselves.

But even they couldn’t penetrate far—the space storms guarding the ruins shredded everything below the level of a peak expert. Even the Nine Serene Pythons had to retreat.

Though Zi Yan’s forceful activation of the relic had hastened its collapse, it would still take time before it completely disintegrated.

That delay was enough for rumors to spread.

Lesser beast tribes didn’t dare challenge the Nine Serene Pythons, but the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe certainly didn’t fear them. Once word reached them, their forces came as well.

The Nine Serene Pythons couldn’t drive them off—doing so would provoke the entire Beast Region. Soon, dozens of smaller tribes began to gather, demanding access to the outer ruins.

Unable to resist the collective will of the Beast Region, the Nine Serene Tribe agreed, though they set strict limits—too many outsiders in their territory would make them look weak and insecure.

But word of the ancient ruins couldn’t be contained. Within days, the news swept across the entire Central Plains.

Countless sects, clans, and mercenary groups went mad with greed, preparing expeditions into the Beast Region.

Even the top factions—Pill Tower, Hall of Souls, Ice River Valley, Burning Flame Valley, and the Four Pavilions—sent envoys to investigate.

Investigate—for now. These powers had the luxury of patience. They would wait until the rest had fought and bled, then swoop in to pluck the fruit.

Within days, the Beast Bone Mountain Range became a vortex of chaos. Human and beast experts alike flooded the area. Aside from the Ancient Imperial Clans, no one was immune to the lure of the ancient ruins.

Yet Liu Xi knew none of this.

At that moment, he was still gleefully plundering every corner of the Dou Saint Relic.

With the Dragon Phoenix Origin Fruit secured, he was no longer in a hurry. He let Zi Yan follow her instincts, leading wherever her treasure sense pointed.

Eventually, her intuition brought them before a grand building, its enormous bronze doors carved with the bold characters: Pill Hall.

Liu Xi chuckled. ”Figures. In the end, you’re always drawn to medicine and pills.”

Zi Yan grinned sheepishly.

”Come on,” Liu Xi said lightly. ”Let’s see what kind of treasures this Pill Hall is hiding.”

He already knew there should be a Pill Beast inside. Pills of the 8th Tier or higher, especially those that had endured Heavenly Lightning Tribulation, often developed spirit and eventually took form.

Just like the Replenishing Origin Pill Liu Xi once refined—it possessed enough spiritual energy to manifest a body and, with time, could evolve into a true Pill Beast.

Pushing open the bronze doors, the three stepped into the vast hall—only to freeze in astonishment.

The hall was enormous, spanning hundreds of meters, but the rows of ancient wooden shelves were tilted or collapsed. Jade bottles lay scattered across the floor—most shattered, and those intact had their stoppers removed, their contents missing.

”Where are the pills?!” Zi Yan gasped, bewildered. ”I clearly sensed powerful treasures here—why is everything… empty? Could someone have beaten us to it?”

She looked genuinely crestfallen, doubting her own ability to sense treasure.

Qing Lin frowned. ”We followed Zi Yan’s guidance directly. With Young Master opening the way, no one could’ve arrived before us.”

Liu Xi smiled knowingly. ”Indeed, we’re the first. As for why this place is in such disarray… perhaps there’s a surprise waiting for us.”

He retrieved a jade bottle from his ring—inside, a 6th Tier pill. Too low to be precious, too high to be useless—perfect bait.

He uncorked the bottle and placed it on the ground. Instantly, a faint medicinal aroma spread through the air. Zi Yan and Qing Lin exchanged puzzled looks as Liu Xi grinned, pulling them behind a fallen shelf.

He activated his Flowing Wind Soul Body, concealing their presence.

Zi Yan whispered through Spiritual Voice Transmission, ”Big Brother, what are you doing?”

Qing Lin’s voice followed, ”If Young Master is doing this, it must have a purpose.”

Liu Xi smirked faintly. ”Come on, little one… let me see what kind of pill you really are.”
