BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

The refinement of the Replenishing Origin Pill took Yun Yun an entire day. Throughout that time, her aura grew increasingly pure and refined.

Now, as she sat quietly, her long eyelashes trembled slightly, her delicate features and fair, jade-like skin were all coated in a faint, holy radiance.

Under her inner perception, her skin, flesh, bones, and meridians all emitted a lustrous white glow. Every impurity had been completely expelled from her body.

Not only that—old hidden injuries left behind by cultivation and battle had also been completely healed. From within her body, she felt an unprecedented sense of tranquility and clarity.

Her meridians, thick as dragons, brimmed faintly with Dou Qi that was far denser than before. And this was merely a shallow layer—if she were to fully fill her meridians once more, her strength would surely be overwhelming.

The comfort was unlike anything she had ever experienced. For the first time, she could truly sense every part of herself, pure and perfect.

’Just the residual power from refining the pill has allowed me to break through to 9-Star Dou Zong. Every inch of my flesh still holds endless energy waiting to be awakened… I’ve never felt the Dou Zun realm so close—almost within reach!’

Her long eyelashes quivered as Yun Yun slowly opened her bright eyes. A faint flash of light flickered in her pupils before fading away.

”You’re awake. How do you feel?”

A calm voice sounded beside her. Yun Yun turned her head and saw Liu Xi sitting nearby, smiling gently.

”I feel wonderful. I’ve reached 9-Star Dou Zong. It feels like breaking through to Dou Zun isn’t far away. It’s all thanks to your pill.”

Yun Yun spoke softly, her tone so tender it startled even her—so unlike her usual self. The power surrounding her carried a rhythm of harmony; even the ambient energy of heaven and earth seemed to rejoice around her, as if she had become one with nature.

”That’s good. My efforts weren’t in vain. The Replenishing Origin Pill has achieved exactly what I hoped for.”

Liu Xi rose and stretched lazily. ”I’ve guarded you for a whole day. It’s time I return. Tomorrow, I’ll bring Elder Hai and Association Head Fa Ma to discuss the formation of the new faction.”

Seeing him preparing to leave, Yun Yun suddenly felt an emptiness within her. She quickly got off the bed, her bare feet hovering above the floor as she called out urgently, ”Wait!”

Liu Xi paused, raising a brow as he looked at her shifting expression—hesitant, shy, yet determined. ”What is it?”

Her gaze wavered, cheeks flushed, her soft voice trembling slightly. ”It’s already late… Leaving now wouldn’t be convenient. Why not stay at Yunlan Sect for the night? You can return tomorrow.”

Liu Xi could hear her rapid breathing clearly. With that tone and that look, how could he not understand what she meant?

Should he stay… or not stay?

Liu Xi’s answer: stay.

Putting on a serious face, he said solemnly, ”You’re right. It’s late indeed. I wonder where Yun’er plans to arrange my lodging?”

Yun Yun turned her head away, showing a flawless profile and glimmering red earlobes. ”Yunlan Sect is vast. You can stay wherever you please.”

Liu Xi glanced around exaggeratedly, then nodded. ”I think Yun’er’s place looks quite comfortable. I’ll just stay here tonight—hope you don’t mind?”

Yun Yun shot him a glare but eventually said, ”Do as you wish.”

At that point, Liu Xi’s wolfish grin appeared. He stepped forward and, under Yun Yun’s nervous yet expectant gaze, swept her up into his arms and carried her toward the bed.

”I have a little habit,” he said with a faint smile. ”If I sleep alone, I tend to have nightmares and can’t rest well. So tonight, I’ll have to trouble you, Yun’er.”

”Do as you wish,” Yun Yun murmured again, but this time, her voice carried unmistakable shyness—and something else.

Liu Xi chuckled softly. ”Hehe, thank you, Yun’er.”

”I… please be gentle…”

”I will be Very gentle…”

…(We’ll leave the rest to the imagination.)

The next morning, the sky was clear and blue, sunlight spilling over the mountains.

In the back mountain of Yunlan Sect, where Yun Yun cultivated and rested, Liu Xi was already neatly dressed. He approached the bedside, where Yun Yun lay under the blanket, only her small head peeking out.

”I’m heading back,” he said softly. ”I’ll inform Elder Hai and Association Head Fa Ma that the meeting will be postponed until tomorrow. You should rest well today.”

Yun Yun glared at him, her entire body weak and sore. ”It’s all your fault. Men’s words are nothing but lies. You said you’d be gentle—but you were like a wild beast…”

Liu Xi soothed her a while longer before leaving her to rest.

After leaving the back mountain and returning to the main gate of Yunlan Sect, he was about to descend the mountain when Nalan Yanran appeared. Upon seeing him, she said, ”Master Liu, regarding Yunlan Sect, I’ve already arranged matters. Some disciples wish to stay, others want to leave with my teacher and me. Please, allow them to go without interference.”

Liu Xi waved a hand casually, smiling brightly. ”No problem. Those who wish to leave may leave, those who wish to stay may stay. Once the unification is complete, freedom like this won’t be so easy. Oh, and your teacher has already agreed to stay—so you don’t have to go anywhere. Explain the situation clearly to the sect disciples. I want Yunlan Sect’s strength fully integrated.”

With that, Liu Xi clasped his hands behind his back and strolled down the mountain humming to himself, clearly in a good mood.

Nalan Yanran, however, stood there stunned. She clearly remembered how resolute her teacher had been when they last spoke. For her to change her mind overnight…

”Teacher… how did you get persuaded so easily?”

She frowned, watching Liu Xi’s departing figure in confusion.

Leaving Yunlan Sect, Liu Xi used spatial power to return swiftly to Jia Ma Sacred City.

Before heading home, he met with Hai Bodong and Association Head Fa Ma, informing them that Yunlan Sect had agreed to the reorganization plan, and that Yun Yun herself would remain behind to oversee the restructuring.

He instructed them to spread the news to all major factions in Jia Ma Sacred City and prepare for a formal meeting the next day.

Most of the empire’s core power was already gathered in the sacred city—once this was settled, expanding influence across the entire Jia Ma Empire would be far simpler.

Neither Hai Bodong of the Miteer Family nor Fa Ma of the Alchemist Association objected. They even took the initiative to contact the Mu Family, the Nalan Family, and the Jia Ma royal family.

Both the Mu and Nalan families agreed immediately. Even though Mu Chen and Nalan Jie had reached the Dou Huang level, they had no thought of defying Liu Xi.

After all, he was a familiar face—and not the sort to harm his own people.

With that, the Jia Ma royal family also had no will to resist. If even Yunlan Sect had submitted, then opposition meant only one thing—destruction.

After all, no one could snore beside a tiger’s pillow—unless they shared the same bed.

By the following day, the time and location for the grand meeting were confirmed.

The Yunlan Sect’s council hall would host it.
