BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

After easily subduing the Mysterious Yellow Flame, Liu Xi did not linger within the molten depths. Turning around, he followed the same path upward, heading back the way he came.

As he ascended, Liu Xi frowned slightly. Beyond the cyan flames encasing him, the crimson magma had grown restless ever since he collected the Mysterious Yellow Flame. Even though he could manipulate magma through the power of the Green Lotus Core Flame and forcefully calm its turbulence, he knew it was merely a temporary fix.

Sure enough, before long, the magma that had briefly quieted began to boil once more. The violent surges of fiery energy from deep below reignited its fury, sending waves of heat spiraling upward.

’How could this be? Don’t tell me this volcano was originally active, and it was the Mysterious Yellow Flame suppressing its eruption all along…’

Even so, there was no way Liu Xi would give up the Heavenly Flame now. The Mysterious Yellow Flame was a crucial key for strengthening both his Spiritual Power and Dou Qi.

His Dou Qi surged madly, spinning through his meridians like a windmill at full speed as his body shot upward through the magma like a swimming fish cutting through waves. Yet the tremors below grew ever more intense, as if the volcano was determined to release all the fury it had bottled up over countless years.

Splash!

A muffled sound echoed as Liu Xi burst through the molten surface. Hovering midair above the magma, he looked down at the roiling pool below. It churned violently, as though boiling oil had been poured into scalding water.

”This volcano’s about to erupt. We’d better leave.”

With a step forward, Liu Xi traversed the air and landed back at the crater’s edge in an instant.

”Young Master, you’re out! Are you hurt anywhere?”

Xiao Yixian’s delighted voice rang out as she flashed to his side, anxiously scanning him up and down for any sign of injury.

Seeing her fuss, Liu Xi spread his arms with a laugh. ”See? Not even a scratch. Tell me, Xian’er, ever since you broke through to Dou Zun, do you look down on your poor 9-Star Dou Zong of a Young Master?”

Hearing him tease, Xiao Yixian rolled her eyes playfully. ”I was just worried about you. Besides…”

Her expression turned serious. ”Young Master, your strength really isn’t that high. A 9-Star Dou Zong is just… a sturdier ant to a Dou Zun.”

Liu Xi’s expression darkened instantly. All that effort to reach 9-Star Dou Zong, and she compared him to an ant? This little demoness really dared say anything.

He slipped an arm around her slender waist and pulled her close, lowering his head beside her ear with a faint grin.

”Is that so? Then tonight, I’ll show you what your Young Master’s true strengths are.”

Xiao Yixian didn’t resist. Her face blossomed with a soft smile as she murmured, ”Alright, alright. I’ll be waiting. But for now, we should leave. Many Magical Beasts have been ramming the mountain peak since earlier.”

”You’re right. Let’s go.”

With a nod, Liu Xi leapt into the air alongside her, landing on the back of the Black Feather Eagle hovering overhead.

From their vantage point, they saw the vast mountain below crawling with beasts of all kinds—wolves, tigers, serpents—all trapped by invisible bindings, unable to move no matter how they struggled.

Liu Xi glanced sideways at Xiao Yixian, smiling. ”Your doing? Let them go now.”

She nodded gently. She had never intended to kill them. Against a Dou Zun like her, these 7th Rank beasts were nothing more than prey.

Raising her hand gracefully, she swept her jade-like fingers through the air, slicing open the space around them. The invisible prison restraining the beasts shattered instantly.

Chaos erupted across the mountaintop. The freed beasts fled in panic, their roars echoing through the valley. A few glanced up toward the Black Feather Eagle and the woman standing upon it—their eyes filled with primal fear. Against a being equivalent to an 8th Rank beast, none dared show defiance.

”Roar! The Sacred Mountain is enraged! It’s about to unleash heavenly fire—run for your lives!”

”Damn it, all because of those two sinners in the sky! Why must we suffer the punishment meant for them?”

Cries of panic resounded as beasts of all ranks—5th, 6th, even a few 7th Rank ones—fled in all directions. Their instincts screamed danger, and rightly so.

A deafening rumble shook the earth as the mountain cracked and collapsed. Smoke billowed from the crater, and the surrounding fire energy grew chaotic. The sky itself was stained a dark red.

Even the Black Feather Eagle sensed the deadly pressure filling the air. Its feathers stood on end as it instinctively prepared to flee—but just as it spread its wings, Liu Xi’s calm voice stopped it.

”Stop!”

He frowned, watching the trembling volcano and the beasts scattering below. He couldn’t just fly away and leave disaster in his wake.

Sensing his resolve, Xiao Yixian stepped closer, her tone steady. ”Young Master wants to suppress the eruption? Leave it to me.”

But Liu Xi shook his head, gripping her wrist gently. ”No. This is something I must do myself. We’ll be leaving soon, and brute force alone can’t calm a volcano’s rage. Only a Heavenly Flame can truly suppress it.”

With that, he stepped forward, floating directly above the volcano’s mouth. Xiao Yixian followed close behind, her Dou Qi forming a protective aura around them both.

Looking down at the surging sea of magma, Liu Xi raised a hand. The lotus imprint between his brows began to glow, and his Dou Qi roared to life. Cyan flames burst outward, spiraling around his arm.

He pointed downward, gathering an immense surge of heaven and earth energy. The azure radiance grew blindingly bright until a miniature sun—woven entirely from Heavenly Flame—took shape before him.

That blazing orb expanded rapidly, its power devouring his Dou Qi reserves at an alarming rate.

Moments later, the volcano erupted. A torrent of molten rock shot skyward, shrouded in black smoke. The deafening roar of nature’s wrath rolled across the land.

Liu Xi’s expression grew grim. The cyan light reflected in his narrowed eyes as his trembling fingertip held the full force of the Green Lotus Core Flame. Thankfully, that finger had long been tempered by the Heaven Burning Finger Technique, allowing it to withstand the heat.

”Go!”

With a final thrust, he hurled the blazing orb downward. It struck the crater like a divine meteor, colliding head-on with the surging magma.

Hiss—hiss—hiss!

Where the Heavenly Flame passed, the molten rock was reduced to nothingness. The blazing orb pressed downward relentlessly, sealing the volcano’s eruption and forcing the magma back into the depths.

The ground trembled violently, fissures split the mountainside, and the towering peak quivered like a collapsing pillar of heaven.
