BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

That night—

The massive Bone Demon Ape curled up in a corner of the valley, its crimson eyes filled with fear as it looked up at Xiao Yixian hovering midair.

As a mere 7th Rank Magical Beast, what else could it do before such a terrifying human powerhouse other than quietly drawing circles of despair on the ground?

---

Within the valley, the surrounding brush and scattered bones had already been cleared away. Liu Xi sat cross-legged atop a large boulder, eyes tightly shut.

He was recovering his Dou Qi and Spiritual Power, adjusting himself to peak condition while silently recalling the intricate process and precautions for refining the Bone Growing Blood Fusing Pill.

When dawn’s first light spread across the sky, Liu Xi slowly exhaled a turbid breath and opened eyes as bright as stars.

Turning toward Xiao Yixian and Zi Yan—both floating vigilantly in the air—he gave a light nod. The true refinement would now begin.

With a flick of his hand, the ring on his finger glowed. A massive cauldron engraved with countless beasts in motion fell from the air with a heavy boom, shaking the ground.

One by one, jade boxes containing medicinal ingredients floated out, suspended around him under the wrap of Dou Qi.

Liu Xi rotated his palm. Azure flame surged from his body and leapt into the cauldron. The violent heat caused the surrounding temperature to soar instantly.

Under the glow of the azure fire, the engraved beasts seemed to come alive, letting out faint roars that echoed through the valley.

Spiritual Power rippled from Liu Xi’s brow, spreading in waves of vitality so rich that faint sprouts of green began to appear on the once-barren ground.

Seeds buried beneath the soil sprouted rapidly, bursting with vigorous life under that spiritual influence.

His Spiritual Power continued to flow steadily into the cauldron, controlling the flame’s intensity and sensing every subtle change within.

After roughly ten minutes, the cauldron was fully warmed. Liu Xi turned his palm upward, channeling Dou Qi as a suction force drew one jade box into his hand.

Opening it, he picked up a cyan fruit—the Spring Spirit Fruit, known to grow in ancient forests where life was abundant. It could strengthen the body, enhance blood vitality, and hasten the evolution of weaker beasts.

With a flick of his wrist, he tossed it into the cauldron. The azure fire immediately surged upward, wrapping the fruit completely.

The Spring Spirit Fruit’s surface shimmered faintly, struggling to resist the Heavenly Flame’s searing heat. Yet it was ultimately a supporting ingredient; after half an hour, it withered and released clouds of azure mist.

The mist thickened, then condensed into a lump of viscous azure liquid, rich with pure energy.

When no more mist remained and the fruit’s remnants were consumed by the flame, Liu Xi lifted his hand, clawing lightly at the air. The refined azure essence floated out from the cauldron, hovering just above his palm.

He drew out a jade vial, stored the liquid essence carefully within, and sealed it before placing it to one side.

The Bone Growing Blood Fusing Pill required more than seventy ingredients—including rare treasures like the Blood Essence Demon Fruit, Ten Thousand Year Green Spiritual Vine, and Snow Bone Ginseng.

It was an immense undertaking—one mistake could mean total failure. This was perhaps Liu Xi’s most serious refinement to date.

With the first material successfully extracted, he proceeded to the next, maintaining intense concentration.

Time passed quietly; day turned to night and back again. A full day and night slipped by before he noticed the dwindling number of jade boxes around him.

Fatigue crept into his soul despite his strength—proof of just how complex refining a peak 7th Tier pill truly was.

Before him, only three jade boxes remained—the primary ingredients of the Bone Growing Blood Fusing Pill.

To ensure absolute success, Liu Xi swallowed a 4th Tier Spirit-Nurturing Pill and meditated for half an hour before resuming.

First was the Snow Bone Ginseng. He opened the box and tossed the jade-white root into the cauldron.

The Green Lotus Core Flame pounced eagerly, but the ginseng wasn’t easily subdued—it shone with crystalline light, as if carved from jade, completely repelling the heat.

Even the Heavenly Flame couldn’t penetrate its protective aura.

Liu Xi wasn’t impatient. Like boiling a frog in warm water, he infused his Spiritual Power into the cauldron, keeping the flame at a constant, steady temperature.

Gradually, the ginseng’s resistance weakened under the prolonged burn until—

Boom!

The Green Lotus Core Flame flared violently, turning savage like a hungry wolf as it tore through the ginseng’s defensive membrane and enveloped its core.

Under the terrifying heat, droplets of pearly-white essence began to ooze from the ginseng’s body, gathering below it until they formed a shimmering pool of jade-white liquid—lustrous like a precious pearl.

At last, the Snow Bone Ginseng shriveled completely, its vitality drained.

Liu Xi exhaled lightly, retrieving the liquid essence from the cauldron and sealing it into another jade vial.

After a brief rest, he continued with the Ten Thousand Year Green Spiritual Vine.

As soon as it touched the flames, the vine writhed like a living serpent, crackling as its outer layers dried and split apart.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

With a final burst, the vine shattered, revealing a dark-green core—its heartwood—which slowly melted into a thick jade-green gel under the fire.

Smiling, Liu Xi drew the glowing substance into a vial and set it aside.

Then his eyes fell on the final jade box. His expression grew solemn.

Opening it carefully, he lifted out a blood-red, oval-shaped fruit—the Blood Essence Demon Fruit.

He flicked his wrist, sending it into the cauldron. The azure flame roared to life again, wrapping around the fruit. Under its glow, the fruit’s crimson hue seemed to deepen, enveloped in a faint, protective blood aura.

A subtle metallic scent spread through the valley—unsurprising, as this fruit was nourished by beast blood throughout its growth.

Minute by minute, Liu Xi maintained perfect focus, adjusting the flame’s rhythm precisely.

Under his spiritual perception, every shift within the cauldron was under control. When the moment came, he unleashed a surge of heat—piercing the blood aura and letting the flames consume the core.

The fruit gradually shriveled, exuding drops of radiant scarlet essence that merged into a pool of glimmering red.

A slow smile spread across Liu Xi’s face.

The refinement of the Blood Essence Demon Fruit—was complete.
