BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

The Ten Thousand Beast Flame roared and surged, its form splitting apart as countless blood-red flame beasts took shape in the void.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

The deafening cries of myriad beasts shook heaven and earth. In the air above the enormous pit—spanning several hundred meters—thousands upon thousands of flame-formed beasts appeared in unison, each pair of blood-red eyes glaring viciously toward Liu Xi and his companions.

At the very heart of this fiery tide, the Ten Thousand Beast Flame’s true body quivered, sending out an invisible ripple of power. The herd of flaming beasts received its command and instantly charged forward, their thunderous roars merging into a frenzied beast tide rushing toward Liu Xi’s group.

”Elder Yao, Xian’er—I leave these blood spirits to you!”

After giving that brief order, Liu Xi’s gaze locked upon the heart of the tide, where the true Ten Thousand Beast Flame burned fiercely amidst the surging flames.

Yao Tianhuo and Xiao Yixian each stepped forward—Xiao Yixian shielding Liu Xi, while Yao Tianhuo faced the oncoming wave of beasts like a towering mountain.

Curiosity flickered in Yao Tianhuo’s eyes as he studied the charging herd. Every Heavenly Flame possessed its own unique nature, and this one’s method of attack—manifesting a fiery beast tide—was impressive indeed. Yet against a Dou Zun-level powerhouse, even this flame’s fury would not be enough.

Without warning, Yao Tianhuo’s robes began to ripple though there was no wind, and the space around him distorted like trembling water. An invisible force of immense pressure slowly expanded outward.

At the front of the charging tide, a flame leopard with a grotesque visage led the assault. As it ran, blood-red fire surged across its body, warping the very air it passed through.

Yao Tianhuo chuckled lightly, raising a single finger. The space before him folded like paper, and one after another, thin black cracks silently split open in the air.

”Spatial Rend.”

The instant his voice fell, those rifts gaped like the maws of unseen demons, devouring the pouncing leopard whole. The cracks then sealed as if nothing had ever been there, leaving not even a trace of the beast behind.

The beasts that followed met the same fate—some swallowed whole by the rifts, others crushed to fragments by the warping folds of space itself.

Meanwhile, Liu Xi’s Spiritual Power surged outward in a sweeping wave, spreading across the entire beast tide.

”Soul Dominion!”

The Spiritual Power torrent invaded the Ten Thousand Beast Flame’s consciousness, bypassing its flaming form and striking directly at its source of essence.

Boom!

A resonant echo like a giant bell rang out within the flame’s core. The Ten Thousand Beast Flame trembled violently, its glow flickering as its bestial will nearly shattered under the impact, teetering on the edge of collapse.

Within the depths of its core, an intricate web woven entirely from Spiritual Power expanded, sticky and unrelenting, reaching to ensnare the Heavenly Flame’s very consciousness.

”Oh?” Liu Xi murmured, slightly surprised. It hadn’t been subdued in one strike—its spirit was far tougher than he had expected.

His Spiritual Power surged again, layer upon layer like a raging ocean wave, battering the flame’s resistance relentlessly.

The disturbance within the beast graveyard was colossal—roars of maddened blood beasts echoed like thunder. Even the outer guards of the Beast Tomb noticed the uproar.

Far away, a tiger-headed warrior draped in beast pelts rose sharply from his stone seat, his crimson eyes flashing with violence as his voice rumbled like thunder.

”Who dares trespass into the Beast Tomb during my watch?! I’ll tear them apart myself! Xiong Er, leave this to me—time to vent some fury!”

Beside him, a towering bear-headed elder frowned deeply, listening to the distant roars reverberating through the tomb.

”Hu Potian, whoever infiltrated the tomb has strength far beyond ordinary intruders. If the blood spirit beasts are truly rioting, neither of us may be able to contain them. We should report to the Clan Chief first.”

Hu Potian halted mid-step, realizing the truth in those words. The tomb housed many Dou Zong-level blood spirits—if surrounded by them, even he might not escape intact.

”You’re right. Let’s inform the chief. Anyone capable of causing such a riot can’t be underestimated.”

Back within the depths of the tomb, the once-blazing chasm had gone eerily silent. The countless flame beasts had all vanished.

Standing at the edge of the pit, Liu Xi slowly raised his hand—within his palm burned a vivid crimson flame. Inside it flickered countless beastly silhouettes, and faint roars seemed to echo from within, exuding the majesty of a sovereign among flames—an emperor of beasts.

The Ten Thousand Beast Flame, born from the souls and blood of countless Magical Beasts, had been blessed by the world’s essence to achieve sentience. Ranked 22nd on the Heavenly Flame Ranking, it possessed power exceeding even that of the Falling Heart Flame due to the sheer number of beast spirits it had devoured through the ages.

A faint smile curved Liu Xi’s lips. With this Heavenly Flame, he could ascend swiftly to the 9-Star Dou Zong realm.

Clenching his hand, the subdued Ten Thousand Beast Flame fused into his body, settling quietly within his dantian.

Beside him, Elder Yao stroked his beard, eyes filled with admiration as he said, ”Little friend, every time I witness your control over flames, I’m astonished anew. That’s one of the most violent Heavenly Flames in existence, yet you’ve tamed it so easily.”

Liu Xi gave a mild smile. His mastery of Soul Dominion had indeed been an unexpected reward from his earlier experiments—an attempt to develop a Spiritual Shock Technique that instead evolved into a method of dominating flame spirits themselves.

”It’s nothing special,” he said calmly. ”Now that the flame is secured, let’s depart. We’re still within the Beast Region—it’s best to move cautiously.”

Elder Yao nodded gravely. ”You’re right. There are four Beast Tribes nearby, each led by a Dou Zun. If they sense this disturbance, it’ll be troublesome.”

”Leave it to me, Young Master!”

Xiao Yixian’s Dou Qi flared, her dress fluttering as waves of energy rippled through the air. Her slender jade fingers traced lightly across space, tearing open a narrow black rift. With graceful steps, she entered first.

Elder Yao smiled. ”Go on ahead, little friend.”

”Alright.”

Liu Xi stepped into the rift, followed soon after by Elder Yao, who scanned the area one last time to ensure no trace remained before vanishing into the void. The beast tomb once again fell into eerie silence.

Moments later, two overwhelming auras descended into the pit—a burly man in tiger-patterned robes and an elderly figure in robes of bear fur.

Their expressions darkened as they surveyed the scorched battlefield. The tiger-robed man’s face twisted in fury. ”Damn it! If you’d let me refine that Heavenly Flame back then, this wouldn’t have happened! Now it’s gone!”

The bear-robed elder’s voice was grim. ”Enough. Whoever stole the Heavenly Flame won’t get far. We’ve guarded it for generations—we cannot let them escape alive!”

Their words faded as both figures vanished, leaving only the lingering heat of the vanished Ten Thousand Beast Flame.
