BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Back on the ground.

Before Liu Xi lay three massive corpses in a row — the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast, and the two nameless Dou Zong beast subordinates who had met their end moments ago.

Xiao Yixian clasped her hands together, her eyes shimmering with excitement. The 7th Rank Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast’s Monster Core — the one she had long been seeking — was now within reach.

On the other side, Yao Tianhuo stroked his half-foot-long beard, his gaze fixed on the fallen beast, his expression filled with emotion.

Years ago, Liu Xi had promised him resurrection — and now, that goal was finally in sight.

’At long last… I, Yao Tianhuo, will live again.’

Liu Xi smiled faintly and extended his palm toward the colossal corpse. A surge of Dou Qi enveloped it, lifting the enormous body slowly into the air.

At a thought, a wisp of azure flame flared to life on his fingertip. With a flick, it shot toward the suspended beast.

The moment the flame touched flesh—

Boom!

It expanded wildly, engulfing the corpse in roaring azure fire. Waves of heat rippled outward, distorting the very air.

Under the scorching might of the Green Lotus Core Flame, the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast’s body began to shrink rapidly. Armor, scales, and flesh all burned to ash, drifting away like gray snow.

Within that blazing inferno lay the two prizes they sought:

The Monster Core that Xiao Yixian needed.

The Essence Blood required for Yao Tianhuo’s rebirth.

But both had to be purified from the remains.

As the inferno raged, all moisture within the corpse evaporated. The body contracted more and more until, at last, only a half-zhang-wide sphere of flesh and blood remained, spinning slowly within the flames.

Moments later, under Liu Xi’s precise control of Spiritual Power, a bulge formed on its surface. It writhed a few times before ejecting a crimson crystal the size of half a fist.

The crystal quivered, then streaked through the air into Liu Xi’s hand.

He felt the immense, violent energy thrumming within it and smiled warmly at Xiao Yixian, giving the crystal a small shake before placing it into his storage ring.

Xiao Yixian’s lips curved into a tender smile, her violet-gray eyes soft with warmth. Even burdened by her Woeful Poison Body, she felt embraced by the gentle heat radiating from him.

Turning back to the flames, Liu Xi’s gaze settled on the spinning lump of scarlet flesh. Within it pulsed the Essence Blood — the very life source of the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast — potent enough to reverse life and death itself.

He clenched his hand. The azure flames wrapped around the lump began to rotate violently, forming a terrifying centrifugal force — like a living grinder.

Under the crushing pressure, the blood sphere spun faster and faster, and drops of dark-purple blood began to squeeze out, one after another.

Yao Tianhuo watched eagerly from the side, his incorporeal face reflecting both longing and excitement. The energy and vitality within each drop were astonishing.

To feel life again — to reclaim his strength — this was his long-awaited moment.

Before long, as Liu Xi continued to extract, the flesh sphere shrank further, its color fading to a lifeless pale gray.

After about ten minutes, the last trace of red vanished entirely.

Crack!

The pale sphere trembled once before shattering, disintegrating into drifting ashes.

Suspended within the azure flames was now a fist-sized orb of light-purple blood, radiating powerful energy fluctuations.

Liu Xi smiled, waving away the outer flames. With a flick of his finger, the orb of blood flew into his hand.

He drew out a jade bottle, guiding the essence blood inside, then gave it a gentle shake toward Yao Tianhuo.

”Elder Yao, with the Essence Blood of the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast, we now only need the Blood Essence Demon Fruit. Once we obtain that, I can refine the Bone Growing Blood Fusing Pill to reconstruct your body — your rebirth will be complete.”

Yao Tianhuo rubbed his hands together, eyes shining with gratitude and excitement. ”After all these years, this old man can afford to wait a little longer. I was right about you, little friend. This kindness… I will never forget.”

”Heh…”

Liu Xi chuckled, slipping the jade bottle into his ring. He looked visibly relaxed. Yao Tianhuo still owed him two promises — and if their bond deepened further, perhaps even those limits would dissolve.

A favor from a former Dou Zun was something Liu Xi could never have too many of.

”The Fallen God Ravine is dangerous. Let’s leave before more venomous beasts are drawn here. Even if we fear none, there’s no need to invite trouble.”

He gestured, and the corpses of the two Dou Zong beast-men vanished into his storage ring — future materials for either pill refinement or puppet creation.

Yao Tianhuo laughed heartily. ”As you wish, little friend. If you need me, just call.”

With that, his ethereal figure shimmered and dissolved into streaks of light, returning to the ring.

Xiao Yixian smiled softly. ”As the young master decides.”

Liu Xi nodded, summoning his vast Azure Flame Wings, and turned to call out—

”Zi Yan, stop playing. Time to go.”

”Got it, big brother!” Zi Yan replied cheerfully, spreading her violet Dou Qi wings.

The three of them ascended, retracing their path out of the ravine, leaving behind only scorched earth and shattered stone — proof of the fierce battle that had taken place.

As they flew, Liu Xi turned to Xiao Yixian and said, ”Xian’er, to stabilize your Woeful Poison Body, we’ll need a place of extreme yang and hardness. I already have one in mind, but it will take some time to prepare.”

Xiao Yixian shook her head gently, her voice soft as spring water.

”For five years, I’ve watched you gather the ingredients for the Poison Pill Method step by step. What’s a little more waiting?”

Liu Xi smiled faintly. Before he could help her suppress the Woeful Poison Body, he had one more task — completing the fusion of his flames.

His first Heavenly Flame, the Green Lotus Core Flame, and second, the Sea Heart Flame, were stable. But the third, the Fallen Heart Flame, was still entangled with the Demon Poison Spot, making it hard to command.

Since the events in the Jia Ma Empire, nearly nine months had passed. The Fallen Heart Flame had already refined about seventy percent of the poison spot, amassing a vast amount of pure Dou Qi.

Liu Xi had already reached the peak of 9-Star Dou Huang. With the aid of a Zong Breaking Pill and that boundless energy, he would soon ascend to Dou Zong, fully refining the Demon Poison Spot—and only then could he help Xiao Yixian completely subdue her poison body.

And the place most suited for both his breakthrough and Xiao Yixian’s purification—

Was none other than the Sun Fire Ancient Altar, the forbidden land of the Ye Clan, one of the Five Great Families of the Pill Tower.
