BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

The skies above Tian Xie City rumbled violently.

Two overwhelming auras clashed midair, sending waves of pressure cascading down like a storm. Below, the citizens, mercenaries, and passing traders trembled, unable to even raise their heads.

At the center of that raging pressure stood Zhang Erhe, his expression dark and murderous, and opposite him floated Xiao Yixian, her silver-white robes fluttering gently in the wind, eyes as cold as frost.

Even with decades of dominance over Tian Xie City, Zhang Erhe could feel how troublesome this woman was. Yet when his gaze swept over her flawless face, the delicate curve of her waist and hips, desire once again drowned all sense of caution.

”Beauty,” Zhang Erhe licked his lips with a sinister smile, ”I didn’t expect you to possess such power. Why not stay with me? Together we could rule Tian Xie City as divine partners!”

”Shameless.”

Xiao Yixian’s tone was ice-cold. Her gray-violet eyes darkened as toxic Dou Qi surged through her veins. In the next instant, her aura exploded, shaking the heavens as her figure vanished in a blur of motion, charging straight toward him.

Zhang Erhe’s expression twisted into mockery. ”Heh… a woman daring to act so presumptuous before me? You’re lucky—you’ve managed to catch my interest. Do you think this city has remained under my heel for decades without reason?”

With that, his aura erupted, and he too shot forward like a black shadow.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

White and black silhouettes clashed again and again, shockwaves tearing through the sky. The air warped violently, buildings below shuddering as dust and tiles were blown apart. Any ordinary Dou Huang who dared to intervene would have been shredded by the aftershocks within seconds.

This—was the power of a Dou Zong.

Far from the blast zone, Liu Xi hovered on the outskirts, the brilliant Azure Fire Wings at his back beating slowly. His Spiritual Power spread outward, carefully analyzing the battle’s flow.

His brows furrowed. ’Xian’er… she’s actually being pushed back?’

That didn’t make sense.

A man like Zhang Erhe—who had clearly squandered his vitality in lust—shouldn’t have been able to fight evenly against Xiao Yixian’s Woeful Poison Body at full maturity.

Another violent collision sent both figures flying apart. Xiao Yixian retreated to Liu Xi’s side, her breathing slightly uneven, her expression grave.

”This man’s attacks contain a strange corrupt force,” she warned softly. ”When I clash with him, my Dou Qi stagnates, and my body goes numb.”

”So that’s it…” Liu Xi nodded. ”No wonder your movements were slightly constrained.”

Only a fool could rule a City in Central Plains for decades without dying. This Zhang Erhe clearly possessed a sinister secret.

The man straightened his disheveled robe and let out a perverse laugh.

”A mere Dou Huang dares meddle while hiding behind a woman? You think you can oppose me? Hah! For decades I’ve cultivated my Tender Fragrance Technique, absorbing the blood essence of nine hundred ninety-nine virgins—each scream of theirs refined my power. That intoxicating ecstasy is the key to my supremacy!”

Liu Xi’s eyes hardened. Even he, who had seen countless demonic paths, frowned at such depravity. Xiao Yixian’s killing intent surged like a blizzard.

”Beast. You deserve death.”

Her jade hands flashed through seals—she was ready to fully awaken the Woeful Poison Body.

But Liu Xi’s voice cut through the wind. ”Xian’er, don’t. Leave him to me. Just hold him off a while.”

He knew too well what price the Woeful Poison Body demanded. Each activation consumed Xiao Yixian’s lifespan and hastened its eventual detonation.

Xiao Yixian hesitated only a moment before loosening her hands and nodding gently, her eyes filled with trust.

She stepped forward once more, streaking like a silver comet to engage Zhang Erhe, buying time for Liu Xi.

At that moment, Liu Xi’s eyes sharpened. His right hand rose slowly, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

”Since you’ve come knocking,” he murmured, ”you can serve as the test for my new Dou Technique.”

A scorching, destructive aura suddenly burst forth, rippling through heaven and earth.

The azure Dou Qi within his body roared like a river, converging madly toward his right index finger—now gleaming with a metallic golden-iron luster.

Above Tian Xie City, an enormous azure sun formed, radiating blinding light and unbearable heat. The entire city seemed to tremble beneath its glare.

Even Zhang Erhe felt the oppressive might within that radiant sphere. His pupils constricted in fear. ’Impossible… this Dou Huang—how can he wield such power?!’

Desperation flashed in his eyes. He tried to interrupt the technique, but Xiao Yixian blocked him again, her poisonous aura smothering his escape.

Then—

Boom!

The azure sun burst open.

Liu Xi’s voice rolled across the sky like divine judgment:

”Heaven Burning Finger!”

From that detonation emerged a colossal finger wreathed in searing blue flame—thirty zhang long, radiant with destructive power.

Zhang Erhe barely had time to register terror before it crashed down.

Rumble!

The sky exploded. Blinding white light devoured the heavens; the shockwave flattened half the city’s outer district.

When the radiance finally faded, Xiao Yixian reappeared at Liu Xi’s side. She squinted against the glare, voice calm but tinged with awe. ”Young Master, that was… the Heaven Burning Finger? Its power is terrifying.”

Liu Xi exhaled slowly, his arm trembling slightly, his index finger numb.

”If not for the tempering from the scroll’s essence, my finger would have been crippled. I infused it with the Green Lotus Core Flame, which drained most of my Dou Qi. Its might is to be expected—but still… too dangerous for casual use.”

Xiao Yixian nodded lightly. As a 4-Star Dou Zong herself, she understood exactly how monstrous that strike had been.

When the last traces of flame dispersed, a charred figure stumbled into view—Zhang Erhe. His luxurious robe was in tatters, his skin scorched black, eyes full of hatred and disbelief.

”How… how could a mere Dou Huang… hurt me like this…”

Then, turning tail, he fled.

Liu Xi sighed softly. ”As expected, even a technique comparable to a High Level Di Class Dou Technique cannot let me kill a Dou Zong outright.”

His gaze hardened. ”Xian’er, finish him. If possible, leave the corpse intact—it might prove useful later.”

”Understood.”

Xiao Yixian’s voice was calm. Her figure blurred into a streak of white light as a new wave of terrifying energy erupted in pursuit of the fleeing man.

Watching her go, Liu Xi descended slowly toward the ground, the wind whispering around him like reverence.
