BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Seated comfortably in the soft, plush chair, Liu Xi waited as the grand auction hall gradually grew livelier. Within half an hour, the entire venue was packed—every seat, from the ordinary section to the prestigious VIP area, was filled to capacity.

Suddenly, a crisp, resonant chime echoed through the hall, its sound lingering gracefully in the air. The noise of countless voices faded as the crowd turned their eager gazes toward the crystalline platform at the center.

An elegantly dressed old man with silver hair and beard stepped onto the platform, smiling broadly. His sharp eyes swept across the hall, pausing for a moment on the rows of VIP seats at the front.

”Hehe, thank you all for coming. I won’t waste words—the annual Cape City Grand Auction officially begins now!”

His loud, spirited voice ignited a wave of enthusiasm throughout the venue. After all, everyone had come for the treasures, not for long speeches.

At that moment, a beautiful attendant stepped gracefully onto the platform, holding a long ornate box.

The old man opened it, revealing a long sword gleaming with cold light. Under the illumination of the hall’s bright lamps, the blade shone with a chilling radiance. The faint energy traces running along its body made it clear that this was a finely crafted weapon forged by a true master.

”This sword is called Wind Chant,” the old man announced with pride. ”Forged personally by Master Haas, it is sharp enough to slice through iron as though it were mud. Embedded within is a 5th Rank Wind-attribute Monster Core, perfectly fused to enhance its power.”

”For those who wield wind-based Dou Qi, this weapon’s strength will double. When venturing into dangerous lands, safety comes first—and this, my friends, is a weapon made for survival!”

With a flick of his finger, the old man struck the blade.

Clang!

The sword sang with a crisp tone, faint spirals of wind coiling along its edge.

”Starting bid: eight hundred thousand gold coins! Let the bidding begin!”

”Hmm… A Wind-attribute Monster Core weapon, not bad.”

Liu Xi’s eyes lit up with mild interest as he studied the blade. Though he seldom used swords in battle, someone else did. He thought about a certain elegant swordmistress—this would make a fine gift for Yun Yun.

But Liu Xi wasn’t the only one interested. A well-forged weapon was a Cultivator’s second life, and soon, the auction hall erupted with shouts.

”Eight hundred fifty thousand!”

”Eight hundred sixty thousand!”

”Nine hundred thousand!”

”One million one hundred and thirty thousand!”

”...One million two hundred thousand.”

Liu Xi’s lazy voice rang out, silencing the hall in an instant.

When the bidding reached one million one hundred thirty thousand, few dared continue. His calm yet commanding tone sealed the deal; no one else uttered a sound.

Seeing this, the old auctioneer smiled in satisfaction and struck the gavel decisively.

Beside Liu Xi, Zi Yan blinked her wide violet eyes, puzzled.

”Big Brother, none of us even use swords. Why did you buy that?”

Before Liu Xi could answer, Xiao Yixian turned her head, a teasing glint in her eyes.

”We may not, but the Sect Master of Yunlan Sect does. Unfortunately, she’s millions of miles away—you can’t exactly mail it to her, you know?”

Liu Xi chuckled awkwardly. ”Haha… That sounded a bit sour, didn’t it? Fine then—whatever you two like next, we’ll buy it! Money’s no issue today!”

He waved his hand boldly, his laughter light-hearted.

After that first successful bid, the auction continued with dazzling momentum. Item after item appeared on stage—Qi Methods, Dou Techniques, rare pills, spirit armor—all valuable treasures, though few caught Liu Xi’s genuine attention.

Until—

Another attendant walked up, carrying a silver tray. Upon it rested a small, snow-white ginseng, no larger than a palm. Its surface gleamed faintly like polished bone, and a refreshing fragrance spread the moment it appeared, awakening everyone nearby.

”This medicinal plant is called Snow Bone Ginseng,” the old man introduced warmly. ”It grows atop the frozen peaks of the Heavenly Mountain, nourished by the essence of earth and stone. A true Spirit of the Land, extremely rare to find.”

”Taken properly, it replenishes vitality, fortifies the body, and restores the flow of one’s life energy. Moreover, it’s said that in the hands of a 7th Tier Alchemist, it can be refined into a miraculous pill—one that defies the heavens themselves, capable of reviving the dead and regrowing flesh and bone!”

The old man’s words sent a ripple of excitement through the hall.

”The starting price is one million five hundred thousand gold coins!”

Liu Xi’s eyes narrowed slightly, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

’Snow Bone Ginseng… one of the three key ingredients for the Bone Growing Blood Fusing Pill. All that’s left is the Blood Essence Demon Fruit—once I find that, I can begin refining the pill.’

This 7th Tier peak-grade pill was renowned for its ability to restore the body from death, one of the three essential formulas for reconstructing life itself.

”Hehe, looks like we’re lucky today, Elder Yao.”

A low chuckle echoed in Liu Xi’s mind.

”Heh… if you can truly find all the ingredients and refine that pill, then once I return to life, I’ll see you properly rewarded, my young friend.”

The spirit of Yao Tianhuo spoke with restrained excitement. For him, who had followed Liu Xi loyally and fought beside him without hesitation, a second chance at life meant everything.

The phrase ”revive the dead, regrow the flesh” alone was enough to make the hall boil with anticipation. Even if most knew it was only a legend, many still held a sliver of hope.

”One million five hundred and fifty thousand!”

”One million six hundred thousand!”

”One million seven hundred thousand!”

From the VIP seats, the Lin Family’s patriarch, Xie Yuan, called out calmly. For a man of his standing, such a rare herb was not merely a treasure—it was an investment guaranteed to rise in value.

Soon after, another voice joined in.

”One million seven hundred fifty thousand!”

Su Family’s patriarch, Su Bo, sneered faintly, unwilling to yield.

”One million eight hundred thousand.”

Xie Yuan raised the bid again, his tone composed.

The two old powerhouses exchanged cold glances, and their silent rivalry escalated as the number climbed higher and higher—two million, two hundred and forty thousand—nearing the limit of the herb’s worth.

”Two million six hundred thousand.”

Liu Xi’s calm voice cut through the air like a blade.

The hall fell silent.

Those with sharp perception could sense the invisible pressure rolling off him—a true Dou Huang. The elegant girl beside him radiated a similar strength, while the serene woman in white exuded an even more oppressive presence.

Faced with such an aura, neither Xie Yuan nor Su Bo dared to continue. Both frowned, snorted coldly, and withdrew from the bidding.

The auctioneer struck the gavel once more, his smile wide and satisfied.

And so, with effortless dominance, Liu Xi claimed the Snow Bone Ginseng—an invaluable herb that, within the circle of high-ranking Alchemists, was considered a treasure beyond price.
