BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

The street was silent once more.

”Reporting to Big Brother — these three bastards not only refused to stay put, they actually dared to attack me! I’ve already subdued them!”

Zi Yan’s foot pressed triumphantly against the youth’s back, her expression bright and mischievous.

The young man lay sprawled across the ground, his limbs bent at impossible angles, eyes dull and lifeless. It was unclear whether his spirit had been broken by Zi Yan’s blows… or by the moment his father abandoned him.

Liu Xi’s gaze softened slightly as he nodded. ”Well done. Anyone who dares to lay eyes on you two deserves no better.”

Zi Yan blinked mischievously, eyes flashing as she asked a question that froze Liu Xi in place. ”Big Brother… when that guy was harassing us, were you more worried about me or Sister Xian’er?”

”This…”

Liu Xi was completely at a loss. How was he supposed to answer that? Both women held irreplaceable places in his heart — how could he possibly rank them?

”Zi Yan, I—”

Before he could finish, Zi Yan suddenly threw herself into his arms, her soft cheeks rubbing against his chest as she murmured, ”No need to answer… your hesitation says it all. Zi Yan’s content as long as I can stay by your side together with Sister Xian’er — forever.”

Liu Xi blinked, utterly dumbfounded. ’Did she just… confess?’

He couldn’t help but chuckle softly, gently ruffling the girl’s violet hair. ”Then Big Brother will also stay by Zi Yan’s side — forever.”

Zi Yan tilted her head, rubbing into his palm affectionately, her gemstone-like purple eyes filled with warmth and attachment.

Unknowingly, Liu Xi had already occupied her entire world. For Zi Yan, whose heart was as pure and direct as her beastly nature, happiness was simple — it meant staying close to him, for as long as she lived.

Perhaps that was the true essence of a Magical Beast’s heart — to love and hate without restraint, and to follow one’s instincts without hesitation.

Their quiet embrace lasted only a moment before Xiao Yixian’s elegant figure descended from the sky, her long skirt fluttering like immortal silk.

Snap!

With a flick of her wrist, she tossed down a charred, twisted corpse — Zhang Erhe, Sect Master of the Desire Immortal Sect.

”He panicked once he fled,” Xiao Yixian said calmly, her tone indifferent. ”Didn’t even put up a proper fight. I finished him with a dose of poisonous blood.”

Liu Xi released Zi Yan and stepped forward, crouching beside the corpse. He drew a Storage Ring from his hand, storing the body away with a faint smile. ”A 4-Star Dou Zong… his corpse will be useful. Well done, Xian’er.”

Zi Yan pointed toward the three remaining captives — the young man and the two yellow-robed elders. ”Big Brother, what about these three?”

Liu Xi stood slowly, his gaze cold as his words cut through the silence. ”Of course, we’ll send them to join their family. The road to the Yellow Springs is long — better they walk it together.”

The young man’s body trembled violently upon hearing those words. For the first time, life returned to his hollow eyes — but it was not courage, only fear, regret, and despair.

”No! Don’t kill me! I’ll apologize, I—”

But Liu Xi had no patience for pleading. His fingertip flicked, releasing several strands of azure flame that shot toward the three.

The moment the flames touched their flesh, they erupted violently, consuming the trio in a matter of seconds. Their screams echoed through the street before fading into silence — a fitting end to lives spent in arrogance and sin.

Liu Xi brushed the dust from his hands. ”Next, we’ll visit the Desire Immortal Sect and cut the roots along with the weeds. Such filth shouldn’t exist in this world — and if we can, we’ll strip them clean.”

Zi Yan and Xiao Yixian both nodded without hesitation. Neither held an ounce of sympathy for such a sect.

Sweeping out his Spiritual Power, Liu Xi’s perception expanded over all of Tian Xie City. Within moments, he located the sect’s headquarters — and the vile deeds taking place inside.

His brows furrowed, eyes dark with disgust. ”So, the Desire Immortal Sect truly lives up to its name — vile beyond saving.”

”Let’s go.”

With a single step, Liu Xi shot into the air, streaking toward the northern part of the city. Zi Yan and Xiao Yixian transformed into two beams of light and followed swiftly behind.

Only after they had vanished did the trembling citizens dare to emerge from hiding. Mercenaries, merchants, and bystanders peeked out from alleys and doorways, disbelief and relief mingling on their faces.

”Zhang Erhe and his wretched son… they’re really dead? Haha! The heavens finally opened their eyes!”

”Rui’er… someone’s finally avenged you! Father can finally rest in peace — I’m coming to join you now…”

”My wife, you can finally rest easy. Those devils are dead, burned to ashes! I’ll raise our daughter well — she won’t have to hide anymore.”

”Tian Xie City’s scourge has finally been cleansed… Heaven’s justice has been done!”

Throughout the streets, cries and laughter mixed — grief, joy, and liberation intertwined.

For decades, Zhang Erhe and his son had ruled Tian Xie City through tyranny and lust. Now, under Liu Xi’s judgment, all that suppressed rage and pain finally burst free.

Had their bodies been left behind, they would surely have been torn apart by the people’s fury.

Meanwhile, in the northern district, a sprawling complex of grand pavilions stood — the Desire Immortal Sect.

The once-guarded gates now hung ajar, guards scattering in confusion. Clearly, news of Zhang Erhe’s death had already reached them.

High above, a streak of azure flame split the air — Liu Xi descended, his Azure Fire Wings spreading wide behind him. He hovered over the sect’s central hall, gazing down at the panic below.

Moments later, two shadows arrived beside him — Zi Yan and Xiao Yixian.

Liu Xi’s calm voice rolled across the sect like thunder:

”Since I’m here, why hide? Come out and face me!”

An aged sigh answered from within, followed by a deep, resonant voice. ”Ah… young friend, must you drive us to extinction?”

From the grand hall emerged an old man with white hair and beard, clad in a black robe, leaning on a wooden staff. His aura was thick and heavy — almost on par with Liu Xi’s own.

Behind him, fourteen figures stepped forth — all Dou Wang or higher, with four among them exuding Dou Huang strength.

The old man bowed slightly. ”I am Elder Zhang Genzhuang, Great Elder of the Desire Immortal Sect. Our Sect Master and Young Master have already perished by your hand. Must you still press us so cruelly? Spare our lives, and the sect will offer half of all its treasures in gratitude.”

Liu Xi’s expression didn’t waver. His gaze swept across the courtyard — fifteen in total, including the elder himself. Even wounded, their power remained significant.

Yet his voice was cold as winter steel. ”Half your treasures? I’m not interested. Your sect has brought nothing but rot and sin to this land. Mercy… is not for you.”
