BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

That night—

After leaving the Black Emperor Sect’s underground treasury, Liu Xi and Zi Yan did not linger in Black Emperor City. They escaped into the wilderness under the cover of darkness. Of course, before leaving, Liu Xi took care to seal the tunnel behind them, ensuring that Mo Tianxing wouldn’t immediately discover the vault had been looted.

Mo Tianxing was a Dou Zong—not someone to be trifled with, especially within his own territory. If not for Zi Yan’s extraordinary spatial talent, allowing her to quietly tear open a gap in the sect’s protective formation, the theft would’ve turned into a direct confrontation. And if they were discovered… it would’ve brought endless trouble.

By the time the sky brightened with the first pale streaks of dawn, Liu Xi and Zi Yan were already thousands of li away from Black Emperor City’s borders.

Two streaks of light—one blue, one purple—cut across the sky. Zi Yan’s face was still glowing with excitement.

”Big Brother, where are we going next?” she asked eagerly.

Having successfully obtained the Bodhisattva Body Transformation Saliva, Liu Xi was in excellent spirits. He replied without hesitation, ”Of course—straight back to the Inner Academy.”

”Ah? But I haven’t had enough fun yet!” Zi Yan pouted, her expression full of disappointment.

Liu Xi chuckled. ”Let me guess—you think those high-grade herbs were too easy to get, don’t you?”

Zi Yan’s cheeks flushed slightly. It was true—she had gotten her hands on a Ground Ginseng and a Blue Cloud Flower, both rare materials normally guarded by 6th Rank magical beasts. Stealing them this easily almost felt… unfair.

”Big Brother~ just once more!” Zi Yan tugged at Liu Xi’s sleeve, pleading sweetly.

Seeing her like that, Liu Xi sighed. How could he refuse? Zi Yan was the reason he’d gotten the Bodhisattva Body Transformation Saliva so smoothly. ”Fine,” he said finally. ”Just this once—no next time.”

”Yay! Thank you, Big Brother!” Zi Yan cheered, her violet eyes sparkling like stars.

To indulge her, Liu Xi unfolded the map, choosing a nearby target.

”Let’s go—our next stop is Black Skeleton Tomb.”

By nightfall, the pair had infiltrated the Black Skeleton Tomb’s vault. When they left again, it was stripped bare from top to bottom.

Flying away into the night, Zi Yan twirled the storage ring on her finger, her eyes locked on it as she giggled non-stop—like a little fox that had just stolen a hen.

Then she looked up suddenly, her eyes glinting mischievously. ”Big Brother~, one more time!”

Liu Xi sighed, pressing his hand to his forehead.

’I knew it… she’s dragging me down a path of no return.’

”Who was it that promised me this would be the last time?”

”Who? I don’t know what you’re talking about, Big Brother~!” Zi Yan replied with mock innocence.

Liu Xi lowered his hand, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully. ’If we keep robbing sects along the way, they’ll start connecting the dots. That won’t do… better leave a few misleading clues.’

He smiled faintly and looked toward Zi Yan. ”Something tells me this isn’t going to be the last time either.”

”Hehe!” Zi Yan giggled, clearly not denying it. The joy of looting top-tier herbs like picking cabbages by the roadside was simply irresistible.

Liu Xi couldn’t help but laugh. ”In that case, if we’re going to play… let’s make it big.”

”Huh? What do you mean, Big Brother?”

Liu Xi only smiled in silence.

Over the next few days, the entire Black-Corner Region was thrown into chaos.

Multiple first-rate factions—Black Skeleton Tomb, Heavenly Yin Gate, Mad Lion Gang, Wind Cloud City, and others—announced that their sect treasuries had been looted clean. They issued massive bounties for any clue leading to the thief’s identity.

The region’s rogues and outlaws were thrilled. Some even joked, ”To steal from so many first-rate powers? That thief’s a model for all of us!”

But soon, an even more shocking rumor spread—

The ruler of the Black-Corner Region himself, Mo Tianxing, Sect Master of the Black Emperor Sect, publicly declared: ”Whoever can provide information on the thief will become an honored guest of the Black Emperor Sect—and owe them a personal favor.”

Though he didn’t say it outright, the implication was clear—Even the Black Emperor Sect, guarded by a Dou Zong, had been robbed!

This wasn’t a thief anymore. This was a master thief!

The region, which had been subdued and fearful after Jia Nan Academy’s punitive campaign, now erupted with new life. Some jokers even began calling the mysterious culprit ”Thief Saint” and ”God of Thieves,” claiming he was a hero sent by heaven to humble the arrogant.

Over the next ten days, more sects released public bounties, their frustration boiling over. Yet the thief kept striking—undeterred, unstoppable.

Then came another piece of explosive news: someone analyzed the thief’s movement patterns and predicted his next target—the other great overlord of the Black-Corner Region: Demon Flame Valley.

At once, every eye turned toward the valley. Demon Flame Valley went on full alert, vowing to capture the thief alive and expose him to the world.

One day passed. Two days. Ten days. Still, no word—no theft, no capture.

Had the thief backed down? Impossible. He’d robbed even the Black Emperor Sect—did that mean Demon Flame Valley was stronger?

Or had Demon Flame Valley already caught him, and was now quietly hoarding the stolen treasures?

Or perhaps… the thief belonged to Demon Flame Valley all along, and this was all a grand ruse to loot the other sects?

Speculation ran wild. Even Mo Tianxing personally sent multiple urgent messages to Demon Flame Valley, demanding to know the thief’s whereabouts.

After all, he’d lost the Bodhisattva Body Transformation Saliva and several high-tier Qi Methods and rare materials. He could only hope the thief was ignorant of their worth—otherwise, the loss was irreparable.

Every time Mo Tianxing thought about it, he wanted to slap himself and butcher the guards who’d been on duty that night. ’Why didn’t I keep those treasures in my own storage ring?!’

Whatever theories the Black-Corner Region conjured, they no longer mattered to Liu Xi.

He and Zi Yan were already on their way back to the Inner Academy.

High in the vast mountain range surrounding the academy, two streaks of light flashed through the sky.

Liu Xi’s expression was calm. Apart from the Bodhisattva Body Transformation Saliva, the most valuable items they’d taken were the Sky Demon Phoenix’s corpse, a Mid Di Class Qi Method called Shadow Force, and a Low Di Class Dou Technique called Wind Howl Nine Heavens.

He’d also secured ingredients for several pills: Two sets for the Yuan Recovery Pill, One for the Zong Breaking Pill, One for the Deep Green Longevity Pill, and One for the Soul Nourishing Saliva.

Everything else had gone to Zi Yan.

The little girl was grinning from ear to ear, nearly glowing with happiness. Inside her ring now was a small mountain of rare herbs—enough to push her up to a 6th Rank magical beast.

”I’m gonna grow so much stronger! Hehe!” she sang, spinning midair.

Before long, the two landed in a secluded clearing. Liu Xi looked at Zi Yan and smiled. ”Zi Yan, it’s your turn.”

Zi Yan nodded, stepping forward. Her small hands pressed into the air and pulled apart—Rip!

A sound like fabric tearing echoed as the very space before them split open, revealing a shimmering void leading to another world.

”You go first, Big Brother!” Zi Yan said sweetly.

Liu Xi stepped through the rift into the Inner Academy. Zi Yan followed, and as soon as she entered, the tear slowly mended itself behind them.

Taking a deep breath, Liu Xi exhaled with relief. ”Let’s go report to the Great Elder.”

”Alright~,” Zi Yan replied carelessly, still daydreaming about her mountain of herbs.
