BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Across the vast mountain forests, ten powerful auras swept through the skies. The oppressive pressure caused the magical beasts below to tremble uncontrollably, not daring to even show their heads.

Each figure carried a pair of Dou Qi wings upon their back — every one of them a powerhouse above the Dou Wang realm. They were none other than the Elders of Jia Nan Academy’s Inner Academy, led by Liu Xi and Zi Yan.

Grand Elder Su Qian had made up his mind — both the Inner and Outer Academies were now fully mobilized for war.

The Outer Academy, with its Law Enforcement Division as the core, had already been assembled and stood ready. They awaited only the arrival of the Inner Academy Elders, who would serve as the vanguard before they set out.

The moment Liu Xi and the others landed, a middle-aged man wearing an instructor’s robe quickly approached, his expression full of respect. ”Honored Elders, the Vice Dean has been waiting for you. Please, this way.”

Elder Qin Xuan smiled. ”Lead the way.”

”Yes!”

...

At the same time Jia Nan Academy was mobilizing its forces, a shocking piece of news spread rapidly across the Black-Corner Region.

Led by the Gold and Silver Brothers, with the Blood Sect, Eight Gates, and Earth Flame Sect as core members — along with more than a dozen mid-tier factions — a unified alliance had been formed in preparation for Jia Nan Academy’s potential retaliation.

The alliance, with the Gold and Silver Brothers as its leaders, was named the Black Alliance.

The Gold and Silver Brothers were said to be able to fight a Dou Zong together — their fame within the Black-Corner Region was immense. Figures like Fan Lao of the Blood Sect and Yuan Yi of the Eight Gates were also well-known experts listed on the Black Ranking.

Once the Black Alliance was established, nearby factions large and small grew fearful but unwilling to abandon their accumulated wealth and influence. One by one, they submitted and joined under its banner.

The Black Alliance, eager to expand, accepted them all — even the weakest small factions were absorbed, destined to serve as cannon fodder when war came.

...

Jia Nan Outer Academy — Conference Hall

Vice Dean Hu Qian and the Elders of the Outer Academy were already gathered. When Liu Xi and the others arrived, Hu Qian’s stern face finally broke into a smile.

”I’ve been waiting long enough! Please, take your seats — it’s time we discuss how to deal with those bastards properly.”

Liu Xi and the group followed him inside, sitting around a large circular table. Hu Qian’s expression turned serious as he said, ”Those scoundrels from the Black-Corner Region have formed something they call the Black Alliance. Their combined strength isn’t any weaker than ours, so we must plan carefully.”

Elder Qin Xuan frowned. ”Only two days have passed, and they’ve already organized? They must be certain we’ll retaliate. What’s their current situation?”

Hu Qian tapped the table lightly and explained, ”The news of the Black Alliance’s formation spread yesterday from Feng City. The Gold and Silver Brothers, as Alliance Leaders, are stationed there, while the other sect leaders have all returned to guard their own sects.

Though the alliance is loosely bound and full of suspicion, they still share a common interest — if we attack one sect, the others will immediately come to its aid. Yet if we spread our forces to surround them all, our strength won’t be enough to wipe them out.”

When Feng City was mentioned, several Inner Academy Elders glanced toward Liu Xi with meaningful smiles. After Han Feng’s death, even his former territory had been taken over by others — the so-called ”Medicine Emperor” had fallen into utter ruin.

Liu Xi spoke calmly, ”People of the Black-Corner Region act for profit above all else. Now that Han Feng is dead, we can spread word that anyone who joins us in subjugating the Black Alliance will be promised a pill refinement from me. That should draw quite a few.”

Hu Qian sighed. ”Under normal circumstances, your offer would make those vultures come running like dogs smelling meat. But with a battle of this scale, the smarter ones will sit back and watch, afraid that we’ll turn around and destroy them afterward.”

As the one who dealt with the Black-Corner Region most often, Hu Qian knew those people too well — greedy, but not stupid.

”This time, when they followed Han Feng to attack the Inner Academy, they stood to gain benefits and protection under his name. Han Feng needed their strength, so he wouldn’t turn on them. But if they helped us now and we later denied them, who would stand up for them? They’d just die like fools.”

Qin Xuan frowned. ”Even so, if we strike with our full force, we could destroy at least one of their sects before reinforcements arrive.”

Liu Xi chuckled. ”Elder Qin is right — but we don’t need to attack openly. We can infiltrate and destroy one from within.”

”That might work,” one Elder said, ”but who would take that risk? Those sects are heavily guarded — sneaking in unseen is near impossible. And if discovered, once they activate their protection formations, even escaping would be difficult.”

”I’ll go,” Liu Xi said with a calm smile.

Immediately, Hu Qian, Qin Xuan, and the other Elders objected in unison. ”Absolutely not!”

He was their only 6th Tier Alchemist — far too valuable to risk as an assassin.

”Don’t worry,” Liu Xi said lightly, sitting up straight. ”I’m confident. Even if something goes wrong, I can retreat safely.”

’With my current strength, only the Gold and Silver Brothers pose a real threat. As for the rest… heh. I, Liu Xi, will slaughter them all.’

Zi Yan, who had been quietly chewing on a pill, suddenly looked up and said stubbornly, ”Big Brother, I’m going with you this time. You’re not leaving me behind again!”

”Of course,” Liu Xi smiled. ”I was planning to rely on your strength anyway.”

Every Elder present knew Zi Yan wasn’t an ordinary girl. Even the Inner Academy’s energy shield around the medicinal vault couldn’t stop her. With her spatial tearing ability, she could come and go freely as long as she wasn’t pinned down.

Hu Qian asked, ”Then which sect do we target first?”

”The Blood Sect,” Liu Xi replied casually. ”I have a Heavenly Flame — it restrains Fan Lao.”

Qin Xuan finally nodded. ”Very well. But if you’re discovered, withdraw immediately. We’ll intercept any reinforcements outside the Blood Sect. The Grand Elder can’t stay away from the academy too long — he’ll only intervene if the Gold and Silver Brothers appear.”

Black-Corner Region — Blood Sect Headquarters

Inside a vast, blood-colored grand hall, Fan Lao sat on the main throne, his expression cold and sinister.

Before him stood a young man who bore a striking resemblance to him — his son, Fan Ling. The youth’s eyes shone with excitement as he said, ”Father, in the past few days, we’ve used the Black Alliance’s name to recruit many strong fighters. We even have several Dou Ling-level experts now. At this rate, the Blood Sect will soon rise to greatness!”

”Rubbish! The sect is on the brink of destruction, and you talk about rising?” Fan Lao snapped angrily.

”F-Father?” Fan Ling froze in confusion.

After a pause, Fan Lao sighed and explained, ”Han Feng has vanished — most likely dead in Jia Nan Academy. Without him shielding us, the academy’s retaliation will fall on our heads. Damn those Gold and Silver Brothers — they took half of the Blood Sect’s resources before agreeing to form the Black Alliance and ’protect’ us. If things don’t change soon, this alliance will crumble before long.”

Fan Ling’s face turned pale. ”Then what do we do, Father?”

Fan Lao’s gaze softened slightly. ”We’ll rely on the Blood Fiend Formation to hold out for a while. If the Blood Pool runs dry and no opportunity arises, we’ll take what remains of our wealth and leave the Black-Corner Region. With the Blood Sect’s cultivation methods, rebuilding our strength elsewhere won’t be difficult.”
