Ghost Catching System

Chapter 108: Chapter 108 Eight Drunken Immortals_1

Yi Qinglian, terrified, flung herself into Chu Hao’s arms, tears streaming down her face like pear blossoms. ”Chu Hao, you’re finally here! I was scared to death.”

Chu Hao, thick-skinned, said, ”It’s okay now. With me here, no one will dare to hurt you.”

Tang Mo, who had also recovered somewhat, was taken aback when she saw Chu Hao. They had seen him once before at the Rose Garden Bar while he was drinking. ”Why is it you?” she asked, surprised.

Chu Hao also saw Tang Mo. Another great beauty, he mused. She’s definitely on par with a sophisticated woman like Luo Yan, and I’ve always had a thing for them. Look at her in those leather pants, showing off her long, slender legs. And her waist and hips—so full and round! Those glistening pink lips... I’d trade ten years of my life for a taste!

Seeing him like this, Yi Qinglian coughed discontentedly. ”Chu Hao, what are you staring at?”

Chu Hao snapped back to reality, embarrassed. ”Qinglian, are you okay? Where are the people who kidnapped you?”

Hearing his question, both women felt awkward.

Lin Xinyue woke up and, surprised to see Chu Hao, asked, ”You... you’re that tough guy from the bar that day?”

Lin Xinyue was also pretty, though perhaps a shade less striking than the other two. Still, she was undeniably a great beauty.

Chu Hao laughed. ”You know me?”

Lin Xinyue giggled. ”I even added you on WeChat.”

Yi Qinglian glared at Chu Hao, aggrieved. ”You asked for her WeChat?”

Chu Hao exclaimed, ”Damn it! Beauty, don’t falsely accuse me, okay? That day, I was drunk, and it was *you* who insisted on getting my WeChat!”

Lin Xinyue’s face turned red; for some reason, she was secretly glad that Chu Hao had appeared.

Chu Hao waved his hand. ”Alright, it’s getting late. Since everything’s fine, I’ll head back.”

”Don’t!” all three women cried out in unison.

They had all been terrified a moment ago; even the usually resilient Tang Mo was badly shaken. It just went to show how fragile human psychological defenses could be.

Heh, serves you right for trying to mess with Brother Hao, Chu Hao thought, inwardly amused. Now you know how important I am!

Chu Hao cleared his throat. ”But it wouldn’t be proper for me to stay.”

Before Yi Qinglian could speak, Lin Xinyue had already run over, clinging to Chu Hao’s arm and shivering. ”Don’t go, we’re scared.”

Yi Qinglian and Tang Mo nodded in agreement. After the scare they had just experienced, even Tang Mo didn’t want Chu Hao to leave. What if the ghost came back while he was gone?

Chu Hao said awkwardly, ”But I can’t possibly sleep here, can I?”

Tang Mo quickly interjected, ”Of course you can sleep here! There are so many rooms, right, Qinglian?”

Yi Qinglian was speechless. Tang Mo, you change your tune so quickly!

Yi Qinglian nodded, confirming they had indeed been thoroughly frightened.

Chu Hao was delighted. Spending the night with three beauties... who knows what might happen? Haha... I’m so wicked!

”Since you all insist on me staying, I’ll reluctantly agree,” Chu Hao said, feigning unwillingness.

Lin Xinyue was overjoyed and started chatting with Chu Hao, naturally asking what he did for a living, how he could drink so impressively, and why the ghost disappeared upon seeing him.

Nonsense! Of course my Ghost Servant listens to me, Chu Hao thought.

Tang Mo was also curious and asked, ”Qinglian, you said he can catch ghosts? Have you seen it with your own eyes?”

”No... I haven’t,” Yi Qinglian admitted.

Lin Xinyue, however, paid no mind to the other two, bombarding Chu Hao with questions, almost to the point of digging up his entire ancestral history.

”Beauty, are you conducting a census?” Chu Hao asked, exasperated.

Lin Xinyue felt a bit embarrassed and asked, ”Chu Hao, are you Qinglian’s boyfriend?”

Before Chu Hao could answer, Yi Qinglian said, ”I haven’t agreed to that yet.”

Hey, hey... give me some face here, there are people around! Chu Hao thought.

Lin Xinyue flashed her sharp canine teeth. ”Qinglian, why don’t you give him to me?”

What’s this? Am I that much in demand? Chu Hao wondered.

Yi Qinglian simply replied, ”Lin Xinyue, you have so many boyfriends. Can you even manage them all?”

Impressive. With just one sentence, she left the young woman stunned speechless.

After a while, feeling bored, Lin Xinyue suggested, ”Let’s play poker.”

Tang Mo said, ”Just playing poker is so boring. If we’re going to play, let’s go big. Chu Hao, aren’t you good at drinking? How about a drinking game?”

Brother Hao is amazing at drinking, and you still want to challenge me? This is clearly a provocation! Chu Hao thought.

Chu Hao replied, ”Sure! How shall we drink? Just to let you know, I have a very high tolerance, so don’t underestimate me.”

Both women smiled but said nothing. One shouldn’t be fooled by Tang Mo’s appearance; she was an incredibly skilled drinker, famously known as ”the one who never gets drunk even after a thousand cups.” In fact, Tang Mo practiced martial arts and could use her Inner Strength to expel alcohol from her system. Consequently, anyone who drank against her usually ended up dead drunk.

Tang Mo’s lips curved into a smile. ”Poker it is,” she said.

So, they brought out a lot of alcohol and placed it in the living room.

And they started playing.

After a few rounds, Chu Hao kept losing, but he didn’t seem to mind and just picked up his drink each time.

Later, he realized something was amiss. He saw Tang Ying cheating; her movements were quick, and neither Yi Qinglian nor Lin Xinyue had noticed.

Trying to cheat me, Brother Hao? he thought.

Chu Hao summoned his three Ghost Servants, Sadako among them, and had them watch the cards from behind the three women. After a few more rounds, it was the three women who were doing all the drinking.

”I... I can’t drink anymore,” Lin Xinyue burped, thoroughly drunk and woozy.

Yi Qinglian’s face was flushed. Though she had drunk a lot, only a light, fragrant sweat appeared on her skin. Chu Hao could smell its delicate scent even from a meter away. These A-list celebrities really are something else, he thought.

Yi Qinglian also said, ”I can’t either.”

Then, both women lay on the sofa, dozing off in a daze.

Tang Mo stared at Chu Hao. ”They can’t drink anymore, so it’s just you and me now.”

Chu Hao smiled faintly. ”Sister Mo, just don’t come crying to me later. I’m known as the Little Wine God Prince, after all.”

Tang Mo took off her jacket, revealing a white shirt underneath that accentuated her full chest. She rolled up her sleeves. ”Let’s change the game. We’ll throw dice for high-low, straight drinks.”

”Bring it on! You think I’m scared?” Chu Hao retorted.

One shot for her, one shot for him. If anyone had been watching, they would have been astounded. The floor was littered with empty bottles; were these two liquor immortals?

Tang Mo had drunk a lot, and she began to circulate her Inner Strength to sober up.

Soon, her white shirt was soaked through, revealing the purple lacy bra underneath.

Chu Hao’s eyes widened, and he stared without blinking.

Puffing out her chest, Tang Mo said, ”Little pervert, showing your true colors now? Let me make it clear: if you want to date my Qinglian, you’ll have to pass my tests first. Drinking is just the first one. If you can’t outdrink me, don’t even think about getting close to Qinglian.”

Chu Hao chuckled. ”Sister Mo, since you’ve put it that way, what choice do I have? Let’s drink white liquor.”

”Alright, let’s play Jiu Baxian.”

Chu Hao asked, ”What’s Jiu Baxian?”

With a gentle smile, Tang Mo said, ”You don’t even know that? What a country bumpkin.”

Chu Hao got annoyed. Saying I’m not handsome is one thing, but calling me a country bumpkin? What’s that supposed to mean?

Jiu Baxian: a mix of eight different kinds of strong liquors. Seasoned drinkers knew that mixed concoctions like this got people drunk much faster, and these eight types were all potent spirits, over fifty percent alcohol by volume. The mere thought was enough to make one’s scalp tingle.

Moreover, Jiu Baxian involved eight rounds, with each round featuring a different type of liquor.
