Ghost Catching System

Chapter 94: Chapter 94 Blood Corpse_1

Yu Sicheng stepped in front of Chu Hao, his eyes coldly staring at the bodyguards.

Liu Qingyan scolded, ”Zhiming, stop fooling around.”

Cao Zhiming was extremely arrogant and said, ”Fourth Mom, don’t meddle in other people’s business. No one has ever dared to talk to me like that before. Even if the Heavenly King himself came today, I’d still cripple him.”

The two burly bodyguards rushed forward, only to be flipped to the ground by Yu Sicheng in two moves. His formidable skills startled the other bodyguards.

What Chu Hao and Yu Sicheng hadn’t expected was that the bodyguards actually pulled out guns and aimed them at them.

Chu Hao and Yu Sicheng were horrified. Although they were skilled in combat, they were not immune to bullets.

He quickly asked the System, ”Can the Golden Bell Pendant withstand bullets?”

System: ”It cannot block them, but the second form of the Ghost Night Umbrella, the Ghost Demon Umbrella, can.”

Chu Hao let out a sigh of relief. His gaze gradually turned icy as he said, ”Fourth Aunt, you’d better have this kid put his gun away. I’m only giving you three seconds, or don’t blame me for being rude.”

It was clear that Chu Hao was furious.

Liu Qingyan exclaimed, ”What are you doing? Put the guns away quickly! He’s a distinguished guest of Mr. Cao.”

Only after hearing this did the bodyguards put away their guns.

Cao Zhiming raged, ”Motherfuckers! Who told you to put away your guns? Cripple him for me, or I’ll cripple you!”

The group of bodyguards was caught in a dilemma, unsure of what to do.

Cao Shanhe was nearby, seemingly unaware of what was happening. But how could anything escape Chu Hao’s notice?

Cao Shanhe knew but chose to ignore it. His intention was clear even without him saying a word: this was a warning to Chu Hao and Yu Sicheng. No matter how powerful they were, they were still human and vulnerable to bullets.

How could Chu Hao not realize this?

He squinted his eyes and said coldly, ”You little bastard, do you really want to die? I can make that happen.”

He directly summoned Sadako. This little bastard deserves a good scare, he thought.

Sure enough, upon seeing Sadako’s terrifying face, Cao Zhiming let out a frightened scream, nearly going mad with terror.

”Don’t come near me! Ahhh... Help! Dad, save me!”

Cao Zhiming shouted, his face filled with terror. The shock made him wet his pants and collapse to the ground, his face ashen.

Cao Shanhe was startled and hurried over, saying, ”Taoist Master, the child is ignorant. Please don’t take it to heart.”

Chu Hao was very displeased. ”Tell him to get lost, quickly. Don’t let me see him again, or I’ll scare him every single time.”

Cao Shanhe was speechless and quickly had someone take his son away. He apologized with a forced smile, ”I’m truly sorry.”

The members of the Corpse Chasing Lineage were surprised, wondering what had just happened.

Glancing at Cao Zhiming, they saw the boy was in a daze and genuinely frightened. Chu Hao, however, felt no sympathy. Serves him right for threatening me, he thought.

The group continued on their way.

Yu Sicheng spoke softly, ”Ah-Hao, Cao Shanhe is trying to intimidate us.”

Chu Hao waved his hand dismissively. ”Does he really think he’s the Heavenly King? If trouble starts later, we won’t make the first move. We’ll wait and see.”

Cao Shanhe did indeed have that in mind. Accustomed to being the boss, he had wanted to put Chu Hao in his place after Chu Hao had shown him no respect the previous day.

However, Chu Hao had shown even less respect, directly summoning a terrifying Ghost that had thoroughly scared his son.

Because of this, Cao Shanhe’s expression turned grim. He felt Chu Hao was a thorn in his side, impossible to handle.

Halfway up the mountain, there was a grave in a well-sited location, with a coffin lying in the burial pit.

Chu Hao noticed at first glance that a black, viscous substance, like thick blood, was oozing from the cracks in the coffin.

Interesting, Chu Hao thought with a smile.

Gong Feng said, ”Gentlemen, will you go first, or shall we?”

Chu Hao replied, ”You go ahead.”

A hint of contempt flashed in Gong Feng’s eyes. He turned to the men from the Corpse Chasing Lineage and ordered, ”Go down and open the coffin.”

As he spoke, a group of them went down to open it. The moment the coffin was opened, a gust of frigid air rushed out.

Everyone saw a blood-soaked hand suddenly shoot out, grab the arm of the man opening the coffin, rip it off, and drag it inside.

The man screamed, his arm gone in an instant.

From inside the coffin came crunching sounds, as if something were eating the arm.

”What’s going on?!” Cao Shanhe’s face instantly turned pale.

The other members of the Cao Family cried out in alarm, their faces filled with terror.

Gong Feng’s expression changed drastically. ”Not good! It’s turned into a Corpse Fiend! Quick, use the Chicken Blood Ink Bullets!”

The Chicken Blood Ink Bullets were repeatedly struck against the coffin, and only then did the thing inside quiet down.

Gong Feng’s face was incredibly grim. Whatever was in that coffin was absolutely terrifying, daring to harm people in broad daylight.

Gong Feng said urgently, ”Mr. Cao, I suggest we burn it immediately. If that thing escapes, none of us will survive.”

”Absolutely not. If you handle this properly, I’ll double your payment,” Cao Shanhe said, his face stern.

Gong Feng gritted his teeth. ”Fine.”

Suddenly!

Dark clouds filled the sky, heralding an imminent storm. In just half a minute, it began to pour heavily.

”Not good!” Gong Feng’s face turned white instantly.

They saw the markings from the Chicken Blood Ink Bullets on the coffin being washed away by the heavy rain.

With a BANG, the coffin lid flew ten meters into the air, then crashed to the ground and shattered.

Then, they saw a dark creature crawl out from within and begin to slaughter the people around the burial pit.

The rain poured down, mingling with constant screams and the pungent smell of fresh blood.

System Alert: ”A Blood Corpse has appeared. Please prepare, Host.”

Just a Blood Corpse? Is it really that simple?

There might be a hidden quest involved.

A Blood Corpse? Cao Shanhe’s father had only been dead a short while; how could he have turned into a Blood Corpse? There was definitely something suspicious about this.

Cao Hongzhen, Liu Qingyan, and the rest of the Cao Family were all terrified, their faces ashen, as the creature in the burial pit killed frenziedly.

Cao Hongzhen, trembling all over, turned and fled, not even sparing a thought for his father.

The other members of the Cao Family also began to run, some even losing their shoes in their haste.

Cao Shanhe cursed furiously and ordered a group of bodyguards, ”Open fire!”

Chu Hao interjected, ”What about the people in the pit?”

Gong Feng cried out, his legs trembling, ”Fire quickly! If it gets out, we’re all going to die!”

Chu Hao stared at Gong Feng. His own men are down there, yet he’s telling them to open fire? Utterly despicable, he thought.

Chu Hao said, ”Afraid of dying? Then you can go down too.”

With that, he kicked Gong Feng down into the pit. The man screamed, desperately trying to scramble back up, utterly terrified.

Chu Hao laughed. ”Mr. Cao, is this the good-for-nothing you found? Your judgment is truly impeccable.”

Cao Shanhe’s face was incredibly grim. He had already guessed Gong Feng was a fraud who had likely learned some unorthodox arts. None of the people he’d brought possessed any real skill.

Hearing Chu Hao’s mockery made him feel even worse.

Chu Hao laughed. ”Scared like this by a mere Blood Corpse? I, the Taoist Master, shall subdue it!”

To everyone’s stunned disbelief, he jumped into the burial pit.

DING... Host has successfully shown off, gaining fifty Pretentiousness Points.

「After a while.」

BANG!

Something was thrown out, crashing to the ground. It quickly scrambled to its feet, blood oozing from its body, and howled at the surrounding crowd.

Everyone now saw clearly what it was: a humanoid monster, somewhat resembling a hunched-over monkey, with sharp, long fingernails.

The crowd gasped and screamed in terror.

Yu Sicheng rushed forward and, with a single kick, knocked the Blood Corpse to the ground. Because it was raining, he didn’t use any talismans.

At that moment, Chu Hao, having climbed out of the burial pit, threw the Curse Rune Sword and said, ”Catch!”
