Ghost Catching System

Chapter 60: 60th Chapter: Star Meeting _1

Ten years? She would have been thrilled with even one more year.

Mu Yufei said, ”To fall in love with someone, truly fall in love—this is the only way.”

”Why does it sound just like a TV drama?” Yi Qinglian forced a laugh.

Mu Yufei also laughed. ”It does resemble a TV drama, but that’s what the Forgetful Woman said.”

Chu Hao pondered a solution and asked the System.

The System replied, ”Defeat it.”

Damn it!

That’s the Jiutian Empress! How am I supposed to fight her? And I have to snatch her Jiuxuan Avatar too.

However, the boast had already been made. As a man, how could he back down?

Yi Qinglian approached, her head lowered, her voice as faint as a mosquito’s. ”Chu Hao, can you be my boyfriend?”

Chu Hao looked dumbfounded. ”What did you say?”

”I... I want to be in a relationship with you,” Yi Qinglian said shyly.

Whoa!!

That’s exactly what I want...

No, wait. Why would a big star think like this?

Chu Hao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ”Doing this isn’t true love at all.”

”I want to give it a try.” Yi Qinglian lifted her head, her large eyes sparkling.

Chu Hao was delighted. ”Really? Shall we start with a kiss then?”

Yi Qinglian quickly backed away, startled as a rabbit, and said warily, ”You bad man, what are you trying to do?”

Chu Hao: ”...”

Boyfriend? A couple? Are you kidding me?

Chu Hao expressed his disappointment. Mu Yufei chuckled and said, ”Ah-Hao, don’t be impatient. You can’t win a girl over like this.”

Chu Hao waved his hand, assuming the air of a transcendent sage. ”As a Taoist Master, since I’ve said I’ll help you, I definitely will. The Mysterious Lady? So what? I’ll definitely snatch you back from it.”

He looked dead serious, but his gleaming eyes betrayed him.

Yi Qinglian blushed and giggled. ”If you don’t help me, I won’t let you go even if I become a ghost.”

Chu Hao walked over, grinning slyly. ”Tsk tsk... are you sure you don’t want to start with a kiss?”

”Get away from me.”

「After leaving the villa, Chu Hao frowned.」

Mu Yufei asked, ”What’s wrong, Ah-Hao?”

Chu Hao smirked. ”Tsk tsk... a big star is still a big star, surrounded by so many bodyguards.”

Mu Yufei surveyed their surroundings. ”There’s no one around here.”

Chu Hao didn’t reply, just smiled and got into the car. The two of them then left the apartment.

After they had gone, a kind-looking old man emerged from the nearby woods, followed by several others.

If Mu Yufei had still been there, she probably would have been shocked, as a dozen people appeared all at once.

A forty-year-old middle-aged man said, ”Master, what do you think?”

The kind old man seemed quite interested. ”He detected us.”

”Ah!” The middle-aged man was surprised.

”This young lad is not simple. Investigate his background. If you find any problems, report them to me immediately.”

”Yes.”

「Later...」

In the sports car, Chu Hao could hardly wait. ”Sister Yu Fei, what about the reward you mentioned?”

Mu Yufei shot him a light, teasing glance; it was an exceptionally charming look, especially with her crystal-clear red lips. ”You have a girlfriend now, so don’t be improper, or I’ll tell Qinglian later.”

Chu Hao became anxious. ”You’re going back on your word!”

”That’s none of your business.”

Chu Hao chuckled, a sly glint in his eyes. ”If you don’t kiss me, I’ll have to kiss you.”

Seeing Chu Hao about to pounce, she exclaimed in panic, ”Stop messing around! We’re on the highway!”

Chu Hao immediately became adamant. ”No way, you have to settle this today.”

Mu Yufei was speechless. ”Fine, fine, fine. Can you wait until I park the car?”

Once the car was parked, Chu Hao was all eagerness.

Mu Yufei took out a piece of chewing gum. ”Here, chew this. I’m worried about bad breath.”

Chu Hao: ”...”

Women are so troublesome.

He tossed the gum into his mouth and chewed vigorously, very quickly.

Chu Hao said excitedly, ”Okay, done!”

Mu Yufei’s voice was weak. ”Ah-Hao, maybe we shouldn’t?”

Damn it! I’ve already chewed the gum, and now you tell me this?

Chu Hao exclaimed, ”Why!”

Mu Yufei hesitated. ”You... you’re too young.”

Chu Hao said frantically, ”If you don’t make a move, I’m going for it!”

Mu Yufei sighed. ”Alright, alright, I can’t win against you. Close your eyes, okay?”

Kissing is so much trouble.

Chu Hao closed his eyes but peeked slightly, watching Mu Yufei’s face slowly approach his, just about to make contact.

Chu Hao’s heart pounded furiously. His first kiss... was he finally going to lose it?

Suddenly!!

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!

Both of them jumped, and Mu Yufei, like a frightened rabbit, shot back.

It turned out to be a highway patrol officer. He said, ”Please show me your IDs.”

Chu Hao almost swore out loud but reluctantly took out his ID. The officer glanced at it, handed it back, and said, ”This is a highway. Don’t park here.”

”Okay, we’ll leave right now,” Mu Yufei said with a smile.

The officer froze, his face flushing; Mu Yufei was simply too beautiful.

Chu Hao shot him a sidelong glance. This guy really knows how to pick his moments, he thought.

After they drove past the highway tollbooth, Chu Hao suggested, ”Shall we continue?”

Mu Yufei blushed and shook her head. ”No need. Maybe another time. I’m a bit tired today.”

Chu Hao felt helpless, hating that traffic cop.

Back in his little place, Mu Yufei drove off. Chu Hao sat there, dejected and melancholy, thinking his first kiss wasn’t going to happen today.

Just then, his WeChat notification sounded. He picked up his phone to see a friend request from a stranger, a woman, with the ID Qing World Lotus.

King Chubi: ”Who are you?”

A message with a smiling emoji arrived: ”Yi Qinglian.”

Holy crap, a superstar added me on WeChat?

Chu Hao hastily typed back: ”You’re not asleep? It’s almost midnight.”

Qing World Lotus: ”I... I can’t sleep.”

King Chubi: ”Me neither, sigh...”

Qing World Lotus: ”Why can’t you sleep?”

King Chubi: ”It’s a dark, windy night, loneliness is unbearable, and my heart is troubled.”

Qing World Lotus sent a disdainful emoji: ”Bad guy.”

There was a moment of silence. Chu Hao felt they couldn’t let it stay this awkward.

King Chubi: ”Don’t worry, I’ll figure something out.”

Qing World Lotus: ”Thank you.”

Qing World Lotus: ”I... I want to fall in love.”

King Chubi: ”Wait... You can’t be serious, right?”

Qing World Lotus: ”I have two years left. I want to try it, so I don’t have any regrets.”

Chu Hao typed: ”Is this you confessing?”

Qing World Lotus: ”Bad guy! Girls don’t confess. I’m not talking to you anymore.”

King Chubi: ”Hey, don’t go! Can’t I be the one to confess then?”

Qing World Lotus sent a smug emoji: ”How do you plan to confess?”

King Chubi: ”Confess to you on the street?”

Qing World Lotus sent a scoffing emoji: ”If you don’t want to be beaten to death, then sure.”

Yikes, she’s a huge star with millions of fans; I really could get beaten to death.

King Chubi sent an embarrassed emoji: ”Never mind, I don’t want to be beaten to death.”

Qing World Lotus: ”Hehe... Take your time thinking about it. Oh! Are you free tomorrow? Want to go shopping?”

How could I refuse when a superstar personally asks me out!
