Ghost Catching System

Chapter 93: Chapter 93 Arrogant Kid_1

Chu Hao and Yu Sicheng had their eyes opened; Cao Shanhe’s son and daughter were even older than his Fourth Aunt. He was quite the player.

”How did my mom die? She was fine just yesterday.”

Anger filled Cao Hongzhen. He had gone to find an expert, but just one day after he left, his mother died without him being able to see her one last time.

Cao Shanhe sighed. ”It’s better that you don’t know.”

The Eldest Aunt’s death had been gruesome; if her son were to learn the details, he would surely break down.

”Let’s go. Time to depart.”

Cao Yunxue wasn’t particularly heartbroken; after all, she was the daughter of the Second Aunt.

The group they brought with them wore Daoist robes and carried many tools, all with the same goal: to resolve the issue with the ancestral grave.

Cao Shanhe, however, didn’t mind the crowd. He didn’t care who resolved the trouble, as long as it was taken care of.

Chu Hao didn’t see any issue either. As long as ghosts were exterminated and Experience Points were earned, it was all good, provided no one stole his kills.

The leader of that group, a middle-aged man with a split beard, looked over with a malevolent gaze.

The man approached, his eyes shining with craftiness, and said to Chu Hao, ”Young man, may I ask which sect or school you hail from?”

Chu Hao replied, ”None whatsoever.”

”Oh! So you’re a Yin Yang Master,” the middle-aged man with the split beard laughed.

Every Daoist sect and school in the world has its own heritage: Mao Mountain’s Ghost Path arts, Shu Mountain’s demon-slaying swordsmanship, Dragon Tiger Sect’s supremely yang and forceful techniques, and the Corpse Herder Sect’s corpse-raising.

But Yin Yang Masters are just a bunch of Loose Cultivators, picking up a mishmash of skills that don’t amount to much in the grand scheme of things.

Therefore, in the martial world, Yin Yang Masters are considered third-rate, utterly disdained by the orthodox Daoist sects.

Gong Feng, stroking his split beard, said, ”I advise you not to come. Be careful not to lose your lives; this matter can only be resolved by my Corpse Chasing Lineage.”

This guy is from the Corpse Chasing Lineage? He remembered Du Yuezhen was also part of that lineage.

Chu Hao smiled. ”We’re taking people’s money to dispel their disasters. If you can go, why can’t we?”

”Humph! Ignorant fool.” Gong Feng snorted coldly, a frigid light flashing in his eyes. This kid actually dared to compete with him for business.

The group set out in a good number of vehicles. Aside from Cao Shanhe’s immediate family, his brothers’ families also came along, making for a large crowd.

They even brought a couple of trucks, reportedly carrying Gong Feng and his people’s equipment.

The Cao Family members had considerable confidence in Gong Feng. Just look at how well-equipped they were! With all sorts of gadgets, they looked as elite as a military unit.

In contrast, Chu Hao and his companion carried nothing, looking like two charlatans scrounging for a meal.

Chu Hao paid no attention to them. At the moment, he was rather vexed because he was in the same car as the Fourth Aunt, just the two of them.

The Fourth Aunt’s full name was Liu Qingyan. Her beauty was breathtaking, rivaling any cover girl, with her impressive cleavage and particularly her waist.

Throughout the journey, Liu Qingyan didn’t mention the previous day’s events, which frustrated Chu Hao even more. He felt somewhat expectant, somewhat disappointed, and could only think that this Goblin really knew how to torment someone.

Finally, Liu Qingyan spoke, her voice very pleasant, like the chirping of joyful swallows. ”Young Master, can I ask you something?”

Chu Hao said, ”What is it?”

Liu Qingyan said, ”Yesterday, I saw Cao Gong was very frightened. It seemed like there was something behind you, but none of us saw anything.”

Chu Hao said, ”It’s better that you don’t know; I wouldn’t want to scare you.”

Liu Qingyan smiled bitterly. ”You must think I’m vain, don’t you? Actually, I have my own unspoken difficulties.”

Chu Hao was taken aback. Why is she bringing this up?

Liu Qingyan looked at Chu Hao earnestly. ”I started following Cao Gong when I was nineteen. He has been very good to me, but did you know? I don’t actually like him, and he knows this, which is why he’s never taken me.”

What does that mean? Why don’t I understand? Can’t she just speak plainly?

Liu Qingyan, without a trace of embarrassment, said, ”You might not believe this, but I’m still a maiden.”

”What!?” Chu Hao was dumbfounded.

Oh my god! Why are you telling me this? Is this some sort of prelude to a storm?

Chu Hao said awkwardly, ”Fourth Aunt, why are you telling me this?”

Liu Qingyan smiled charmingly, a truly seductive expression. ”I am only nominally the Fourth Aunt. So far, Cao Gong is the only man who has ever held my hand. No one else. But you... I’ve developed feelings for you. What do you think we should do?”

Chu Hao was speechless. ”Then what do you want to do?”

Liu Qingyan blushed. ”Of course, I want... I want to be with you.”

Chu Hao chuckled. ”Alright! We can get a room tonight and have a good long talk about life; I guarantee you’ll be satisfied.”

Liu Qingyan’s face turned even redder. ”Isn’t that a bit too fast?”

Damn it! A woman nearly thirty years old, still acting like a young maiden. Who would believe that?

Chu Hao quickly changed the subject. ”Did Cao Shanhe send you to test me?”

A flicker of panic crossed Liu Qingyan’s expression. Although she concealed it well, Chu Hao still noticed.

”Cao Gong wouldn’t do such a thing. This is all my own wishful thinking; he wouldn’t oppose anything I do.”

Heh. If Brother Hao’s awareness hadn’t sharpened, I might have actually been fooled by you.

”Drive on. We’ll discuss this later. Whether your family survives is still a question,” Chu Hao said, deciding not to engage with her further.

Liu Qingyan trembled.

「Eventually, they arrived at a large mountain.」

The mountains were verdant and the waters clear, the scenery beautiful. It was a truly auspicious piece of land, and the Cao Family had bought the entire mountain.

Chu Hao observed the surrounding terrain; it was indeed an excellent piece of feng shui land.

Finally, everyone disembarked from the vehicles. They would have to proceed on foot from here.

Cao Shanhe had quite a few children. Besides the two mentioned earlier, there was also a fourteen-year-old boy and a delicately pretty little girl of about twelve. Both were Cao Shanhe’s children.

”Hey! I’m talking to you! How did my Eldest Aunt die?”

It was the fourteen-year-old boy. He walked up to Chu Hao, pointed at him, and spoke disrespectfully.

Chu Hao put on a gentle smile. After all, he was just a kid, and there was no need to scare him. He said kindly, ”Kiddo, you’re better off not knowing.”

To his surprise, the boy cursed, ”What’s with the mystery act? You’re all just dogs of my Cao Family! Are you going to talk or not? If not, I’ll have the bodyguards cripple you!”

Damn it! Has this kid eaten dynamite or something? So arrogant, just like his father. And I was speaking to him so gently. I must have been blind!

Chu Hao’s face turned stern. ”Kid, I’m not one of your family’s dog servants. Watch your mouth.”

The boy sneered. ”You took my family’s money. If you’re not a dog servant, what are you? Are you going to tell me or not?”

Chu Hao laughed. ”Didn’t your mom teach you what manners are? Your dad is Cao Shanhe, after all. How did he end up with a son like you? If I were your dad, I’d beat you eight times a day.”

Holy hell! Beat me eight times a day? He’s even more arrogant than I am! I’ve really met my match today.

The boy was furious, veins popping on his forehead. ”You mutt! You dare say I have no manners? Get him! Cripple him! Start by breaking one of his arms!”

Damn his mother! This kid is way too arrogant.

Two burly men who looked like bodyguards approached Chu Hao, their faces cold and cruel.

Damn! You think I’m scared just because you look fierce?

Gong Feng and the others noticed, folding their arms and watching Chu Hao’s predicament with smirks.
