Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1717: Chapter 1716: I Built a Snowman

It snowed all night long.

The fierce wind blowing like it was meant to make something happen for someone.

Inside the hotel room, however, it was warm like spring.

Bai Xiaoxiao slept until seven in the morning and was woken by the doorbell Xiao Yuting rang.

“What are you making noise for so early in the morning? I’m not even fully awake yet.”

She opened the door, looking at the man standing outside with a displeased face.

Xiao Yuting frowned slightly, pressing his aching forehead, and said resentfully, “Xiaoxiao, you think I want to wake you up? If it weren’t for that bastard Luo Haofeng visiting my room at the crack of dawn, I wouldn’t need to disturb you.”

He wanted to sleep more than Bai Xiaoxiao did.

He had only fallen asleep at dawn last night.

The displeasure on Bai Xiaoxiao’s face turned into surprise. She blinked and asked in disbelief, “You said Luo Haofeng is in your room now?”

“Yes.”

Xiao Yuting tiredly yawned and took two steps back to his own room door, raising his hand to knock.

A moment later, the door opened from the inside, and sure enough, Luo Haofeng’s tall figure appeared at the entrance, looking past Xiao Yuting at Bai Xiaoxiao.

Their eyes met, and a gentle smile curved his lips.

Bai Xiaoxiao could hear her heartbeat skip a beat.

What is he doing smiling so charmingly this early in the morning, and why is he here at the hotel at such an hour?

Luo Haofeng’s deep eyes were filled with amusement as he stepped out of the room and approached Bai Xiaoxiao, “Xiaoxiao, good morning.”

“Good morning.”

Only then did all traces of sleepiness leave Bai Xiaoxiao.

As Luo Haofeng got closer, his scent filled her senses.

“I’ve already built a snowman; come with me to see it.”

“Snowman?”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s mind started to spin again.

“Yes, didn’t I say yesterday that if it snowed heavily, I’d build a snowman for you?”

The smile on Luo Haofeng’s lips spread wide, lighting up his handsome face, and his long eyes, full of flirtatious affection, rippled with laughter.

It was enough to make anyone dizzy.

“I wanted to wait for you to build the snowman with me, but I was afraid of disturbing your sleep, so I built it myself and then came to get you.”

Luo Haofeng’s voice was deep and pleasant, but in Bai Xiaoxiao’s ears, it brought up the memory of the dream she had last night in the car.

Her expression subtly changed, and she lowered her eyes, avoiding Luo Haofeng’s burning gaze.

The joy in his eyes was so unconcealed; if she refused, he would undoubtedly be upset.

“Xiaoxiao, go freshen up and change; I’ll take you there.”

Her cool little hand was suddenly caught by a large warm hand, making Bai Xiaoxiao’s heart tremble, causing her to lift her gaze sharply.

Facing Luo Haofeng’s tenderly smiling eyes, she pressed her lips together, struggling to withdraw her hand.

Luo Haofeng chuckled lightly and whispered, “I’ll wait for you.”

Then he let go.

Bai Xiaoxiao quickly retreated back into her room and closed the door.

Seeing the door before him shut, Luo Haofeng smiled and returned to Xiao Yuting’s room.

“I’m going to sleep some more. Feel free to do as you please.”

As soon as Xiao Yuting returned to his room, he lay back on the bed, too indifferent to even address Luo Haofeng, the unwelcome guest.

Half an hour ago, Luo Haofeng had woken him up.

Claiming to talk business with him.

Despite sealing his mouth with a hefty sum, Xiao Yuting was still quite annoyed.

Luo Haofeng likes Bai Xiaoxiao, and so does he.

In front of Meng Ke, Xiao Yuting could feel a sense of superiority because Bai Xiaoxiao had had a crush on him for ten years.

But in front of Luo Haofeng, Xiao Yuting couldn’t shake off that feeling of oppression.

“Go ahead and sleep; I’ll leave in a little while.”

Luo Haofeng replied happily, leaning back on the sofa, pulling out his phone to repeatedly look at the message Bai Xiaoxiao had sent him at the stroke of midnight.

In truth, it was just four characters and a punctuation mark: Happy Birthday!

But each time he read it, a new wave of happiness sprouted in Luo Haofeng’s heart.

Where others might read a message including the punctuation, he read it, delving into each character’s radical and component.

Meanwhile, in the room across, Bai Xiaoxiao’s feelings were complex.

From yesterday afternoon to this morning, her heart had raced more times than in the past few years combined.

It felt as if something had changed unknowingly; she originally thought she’d have nothing to do with Luo Haofeng anymore.

Initially, she thought meeting would only make them friends.

Yet yesterday afternoon, she let herself go, leaving the factory with him, getting in his car, going to the mall, shopping for groceries, later going to his house, and cooking for him…

It all seemed out of her control.

She could sense Luo Haofeng’s deeply restrained, yet palpable and eager emotions.

And she could clearly feel the gentle waves in her heart when she left with him turn into a stormy sea with the kiss from last night.

An entire night had passed, yet at this moment, whenever Bai Xiaoxiao thought of that kiss, she still felt the tingling sensation clearly on her lips.

Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, she instinctively raised a hand to touch her lips, a faint blush appearing on the clear face within the mirror.

The scene of Luo Haofeng kissing her last night vividly leaped into her mind.

After freshening up and changing clothes, Bai Xiaoxiao took a deep breath before opening the door and leaving the room.

In the room opposite, Xiao Yuting had closed his eyes, whether he was truly asleep or merely pretending.

Luo Haofeng got up from the sofa, walked to the door, opened it, and upon seeing Bai Xiaoxiao standing in the hallway, his lips curved into a pleased smile.

They walked out of the hotel together.

Outside, the stopped snow gave way to a drizzle.

“Xiaoxiao, my car is by the roadside.”

Luo Haofeng raised his hand to point, and following his gaze, Bai Xiaoxiao saw the car he had driven her home in last night parked by the roadside.

In front of the car stood a hotel security guard.

As soon as Luo Haofeng and Bai Xiaoxiao exited the hotel, a staff member under an umbrella escorted them to the roadside.

The security guard standing by the car respectfully opened the door, passing the car keys to Luo Haofeng with both hands.

Luo Haofeng let Bai Xiaoxiao get into the car first before taking out his wallet, giving tips to the security guard and the staff member with the umbrella, then circling the car to take the driver’s seat.

“Xiaoxiao…”

Just as Luo Haofeng’s voice resonated within the car, Bai Xiaoxiao’s phone rang.

As he said her name, the rest of his words were drowned out by the loud ringtone.

Bai Xiaoxiao gave him a gentle smile, took out her phone, furrowing her brows slightly at the display, her eyes flashing before she answered the call.

Her voice emerged calmly, “Hello!”

“Xiaoxiao, good morning, I hope I didn’t disturb your sleep?”

The voice on the phone was that of Meng Ke.

In the driver’s seat, although Luo Haofeng couldn’t clearly hear what was being said, he faintly caught the voice, knowing it was Meng Ke.
