Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 3040: Chapter 3041: Mediator

”Stop!” Zhong Kui’s voice rang out, and a gust of wind swept over, pulling away the three clan elders.

Bai Ruozhu widened her eyes. Is this Zhong Kui’s special ability? His speed is as fast as the wind, and he can carry people away like it?

Chushuang’s attack missed, and she retreated to Gao Zhou’s side.

”Everyone, calm down. Let’s talk things over. We’re all family here.” Zhong Kui braced himself to advise.

”Patriarch Zhong is mistaken. We are outsiders and not part of your family.” Chushuang said irritably, as she clearly felt the three clan elders wanted to harm her son just now.

Chushuang is not one to meddle in trivial matters. She typically remains silent and lets her son and daughter-in-law make decisions. She seldom takes action, but the actions of the three clan elders had completely enraged her.

She may not be fond of handling matters, but it doesn’t mean she will tolerate anyone wishing to harm her son.

Zhong Kui coughed lightly, ”Mrs. Jiang, calm down; there must be some misunderstanding here.”

”No misunderstanding. He just tried to kill my son, and I’m not so oblivious as to miss sensing killing intent.” Chushuang said with a cold face.

”This...” Zhong Kui looked towards the three clan elders, ”Third Uncle, what’s going on? Why did you use the Lion Roar Skill?”

The three clan elders hadn’t fought anyone for years or used this special ability either, so Zhong Kui hadn’t expected them to use it today.

”Ask them about it. There was a surge of red light here just now. When I asked them what was happening, they hid the truth from me and even accused me of being a traitor in the clan.” said the three clan elders angrily.

Bai Ruozhu replied irritably, ”The three clan elders are the ones accusing us first. Do we need to hide anything? We just don’t want to be interrogated like criminals. We’re here as guests, not prisoners.”

Zhong Kui thought for a moment and understood the situation. The three clan elders were guarded against Bai Ruozhu and probably spoke rudely, while Bai Ruozhu has pride and wouldn’t simply endure it.

”Everyone calm down; it’s not a big deal; let’s discuss it slowly.” Zhong Kui advised, only to be glared at by the three clan elders, ”What kind of patriarch are you? You keep talking about peace. Do you think being peaceful will stop others from scheming against our Zhong Family?”

Zhong Kui was scolded by the three clan elders in front of the younger generation, and his face turned red. He sighed, ”Being the Patriarch isn’t easy. I didn’t want to do it in the first place. I’m just playing the role of a mediator all day long.”

Bai Ruozhu also realized that the Zhong Family isn’t led by the Patriarch, nor does the Patriarch have the final say, but the clan elders decide and the Patriarch mediates.

Every clan elder ranks higher than Zhong Kui, and he likely has his fair share of worries every day.

”What do you mean, Zhong Kui? Trying to walk away now?” said the three clan elders irritably.

Zhong Kui smiled bitterly, ”I can’t persuade you all, and I can’t interfere with the guests either, so I’ll just keep quiet and go with the flow.”

”You...” The three clan elders glared, letting him continue to confront Jiang Yichun and the others?

Fortunately, other clan elders arrived at this moment and persuaded them, temporarily calming the situation.

Madam Zhong and Ao Song accompanied Bai Ruozhu and Little Dengdeng into the room. Ao Song said guiltily, ”Sister Ruozhu, I apologize for the trouble. Third Grandpa has a stubborn temperament and loves to stir up trouble.”

”Songsong!” Madam Zhong glared at her as a warning, then apologized to Bai Ruozhu, ”Don’t take it to heart. Her father and I will help you.”
