Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 3033: Chapter 3034: Pretending

”I heard it all just now. He discovered he could become stronger, but afterwards...” Jiang Yichun paused, ”he acts like he’s been drugged with a love potion. He can’t ask you about this kind of thing, so he came to my dad. Why do you think he avoids you? And you’re still cluelessly asking.”

Hearing Jiang Yichun’s gradually disdainful tone, Bai Ruozhu’s face warmed slightly. It turns out her guess was almost right; she just guessed it a bit late.

Alright, she can be foolish sometimes too.

”Then let your dad treat him. I’ll just pretend I don’t know.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Jiang Yichun nodded satisfactorily, finally not being so foolish.

”I think the Astrologer hasn’t lost his memory.” He looked at Bai Ruozhu and said.

”Huh?” Bai Ruozhu was surprised, ”How did you figure that out? If he hasn’t lost his memory, why pretend? Doesn’t he like Ao Song? Otherwise, why would he be willing to die for Ao Song?”

She asked several questions in one breath, and Jiang Yichun smiled helplessly and said, ”It’s just a man’s intuition. As for why, you have to ask him yourself. Our speculation might not be correct.”

”Then go and ask him, find out what’s going on. It’s making the young lady heartbroken.” Bai Ruozhu got upset. Earlier, she was worried and sympathizing with the Astrologer, now she felt like slapping him.

If her man could see through it, it was probably correct, and the Astrologer really hid deeply.

”I’m not a brother you confide in; I’m busy.” Jiang Yichun immediately refused.

”Come on, husband, you’re the best, awesome! If you won’t go, should I become the Astrologer’s sister he confides in?” Bai Ruozhu grinned at him.

”That’s not allowed!” He immediately shouted, and Bai Ruozhu grinned mischievously. She knew his ”Not allowed” was referring to her becoming the Astrologer’s ”sister he confides in,” so he would definitely go himself.

After dinner, Jiang Yichun left the house, and Bai Ruozhu grinned mischievously. Her man indeed was easier influenced by softness than toughness.

”Mom, your smile is creepy.” Little Dengdeng said beside her.

Bai Ruozhu immediately put away her smile, and sternly said, ”Did you practice the writing I asked you to?”

”Ah...” Little Dengdeng cried out in pain, ”Mom, you’re using public power for personal revenge, that’s not cool.”

”Is it wrong to ask you to practice writing? You’re old enough, studying every day is necessary, isn’t it?” Bai Ruozhu said sternly, hands on her hips.

Little Dengdeng pouted, ”But you said a general doesn’t follow orders when outside. I’m outside, can’t I avoid writing and studying?”

He liked practicing martial arts and researching Mechanical Technique, but disliked reading and writing.

”That’s why you’re told to study; your usage is wrong. Go practice your writing well, and I’ll test you before bed,” Bai Ruozhu said sternly. She didn’t want her son to grow up to be a simple-minded, culturally ignorant brute.

”Oh, alright.” Little Dengdeng reluctantly went off to write, twisting his arm under his mother’s pressure.

Meanwhile, Jiang Yichun went to find the Astrologer, saying he wanted to spar with him. The Astrologer looked a bit awkward but still followed him to the backyard.

”I don’t want to use recently acquired abilities, I can’t beat you,” the Astrologer said.

Yin Yang Masters tend to be better at dealing with Monsters, not humans, quickly matching Jiang Yichun’s abilities with the Merfolk’s.

”You need a woman,” Jiang Yichun said seriously.

The Astrologer’s face flushed red up to his ears, ”What do you mean?”

”If you haven’t lost your memory, why pretend? If you don’t want responsibility, openly tell her. Your brother isn’t someone who hides things, and I don’t think you are either, right?” Jiang Yichun said.

The Astrologer’s face changed from red to pale, ”I...”

He didn’t want to admit it, but facing Jiang Yichun’s confident and determined gaze, he gave in.

”At the time, saving her wasn’t too thought out, but I have my pride as well. I don’t want to bind her with gratitude, and I don’t want to use this event to win her feelings. If I don’t ask for a breakup, given her character, she would repay the favor anyway,” the Astrologer said.

Jiang Yichun showed some respect, ”You’re quite open about it, but how do you know she doesn’t like you? Don’t wait until you break her heart and regret it.”

”I can tell she can’t let go of Sangta, and Sangta is relentlessly pursuing her. Without me, they’d be more suitable.” Though the Astrologer said this, he seemed a bit dejected, but tried to lift his spirits.

”Earlier, Ruozhu wanted to set you up with Ao Song, for which I wasn’t too pleased. I’m rather hoping Sangta ends up with Ao Song, so he stops thinking about my wife. But Ruozhu said the Zhong Family wants to adopt, Ao Song might become the Patriarch, and the Zhong Family has stricter requirements for her. Sangta is a king of the Barbarian Clan, they’re not suitable. Ruozhu thinks things more thoroughly than I do, and she’s right in considering like this.” Jiang Yichun slowly explained.

”But...” The Astrologer hesitated. If Sangta was unsuitable, should he try harder?

Jiang Yichun placed his hand on his shoulder, ”We’ve known each other for a while, we’re brothers. I wouldn’t lie to you. Earlier, while you were unconscious, the Zhong Family wanted to arrange a marriage with another woman, but Ao Song refused to let it happen. Ruozhu said it’s not just because she couldn’t bear to mistreat you, but she couldn’t accept you marrying someone else.”

He smiled, looking at the Astrologer and said, ”What does that tell you?”

The Astrologer’s heart pounded, the answer was obvious. Could it be that she likes him?

”But...” he hesitated again. In the fight with Sangta, Ao Song clearly worried about Sangta, even when talking about Sangta, her tone was clearly that of a familiar relationship.

She’s never talked to him like that, always being polite.

Back at the Astrologer Family, he saw his cousin’s wife joking with her cousin, talking just like that. Their relationship was very good.

”Let me ask you, do you like her? You were willing to die for her, isn’t that liking her?” Jiang Yichun gave him a look, and before he could answer, continued, ”Even if you and Sangta are neck and neck in Ao Song’s heart, would you just let it go, leaving the barbarian a free win?”

The Astrologer’s lips twitched. Jiang Yichun really doesn’t like Sangta.

”It’s not about gratitude, if it was just to repay, waking you would be enough. Arranging a fake marriage would be enough, why must Ao Song insist on marrying you? You dumb not getting it?” Jiang Yichun said annoyed.

The Astrologer’s eyes slowly brightened, ”Then, what do I do now? Tell her the truth?”

”Up to you. You can pretend your memory returned, we’d keep your secret anyway, only Ruozhu and I know. If you want to tell her the truth, have a good talk about what you feel, don’t be shy, talk openly.” Jiang Yichun added.

”Alright, alright, I understand.” The Astrologer agreed, ”Thank you, and thank Ruozhu.”

”You’re the brother of her mentor, which makes you our brother, it’s the least we can do,” Jiang Yichun replied.
