Chapter 3018: Chapter 3019: The First Memory

Bai Ruozhu also fell into the darkness, unable to see anything, feeling as if she had already died.

But she knew she wasn’t dead. In her moment of despair, she saw the figure of a child and thought of her three children, awakening with the thought of survival.

”Is your memory all dark after that?” Bai Ruozhu tentatively asked.

She couldn’t speak and could only use her mind to ask, not knowing if Taisui could hear.

Thinking that he was originally just a child, she couldn’t help but feel sorry for him.

Suddenly, she thought of something; this seemed to be an exile land of another world.

It’s like the Jiuli Clan who are the descendants of exiled criminals, the Merfolk also came here with the ancestors of the Jiuli Clan, and later there was the Merfolk Clan. The Golden Wings Clan as well.

And the monster sealed in the Jiuli Clan’s Secret realm was also exiled, as is the Taisui before her.

That world had fantasy elements, and people there were stronger, but why is this their land of exile?

The king couldn’t bear to kill Taisui, yet didn’t want Taisui to continue harming others, so he exiled him. Did he think all creatures in the Lower Realm were inferior, and deserved to be eaten by Taisui?

Bai Ruozhu felt some anger and continued, ”I know you don’t want to harm people, but you can’t control yourself. Even though your past is sympathetic, you cannot continue hurting innocent people.”

”I’ve been here for a very long time.” A voice suddenly spoke, not loud, but as if it exploded in Bai Ruozhu’s head.

”There are many legends about Taisui; encountering Taisui brings bad luck, which means you must have harmed many people.” Bai Ruozhu continued, ”Why did you capture me? Why show me your memories?”

”The people I devour bring with them their memories, so many that I slowly forgot who I was until I recently smelled your scent, which awakened my earliest memories.” Taisui’s voice was very hoarse, no longer like a child’s, even though he was once a child. But he had lived for a very long time.

So long that Bai Ruozhu couldn’t estimate a specific number.

”My scent, you think I’m your sister?” Bai Ruozhu felt it was very intriguing, could the Bamboo Princess be her past life?

”Probably, but not entirely. Thank you, otherwise I wouldn’t know what I would become.” Taisui’s voice was mournful, ”Yet I can’t go back, not even able to die; when will I be freed?”

It’s said Taisui’s body is enormous, always hidden underground, wherever there is war and many deaths, Taisui will go there.

Its body is not indestructible, but when injured it can automatically heal, continuously growing, so it is said to be immortal.

”Why did you become like this; it’s not just hatred, is it?” Bai Ruozhu thought perhaps knowing the root cause could help him find relief.

”I don’t know either, perhaps my family has the bloodline of the Sky Swallowing Beast.” Taisui said, mentioning his family, his mood sank again.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t know how to comfort him either, seeing that his family had already been gone for a long time.

”Then I count it as helping you by chance, can you let me out?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

”I don’t know how to do that.” He sounded somewhat aggrieved, ”I really didn’t want to eat you, I just wanted to see clearly some things, but I can’t control myself.”

As long as he was willing to let her go, a solution could be found by someone.
