Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 3006: Chapter 3007: Is It Still Too Late?

Sangta once saved her, she was grateful to Sangta, considering him her best friend, and hoped Sangta could find his own happiness.

But before, Sangta did not cherish Ao Song, and never accepted her. At Ao Song’s most dangerous moment, it was Astrologer who stood by Ao Song’s side, even willing to sacrifice his own life for Ao Song. What qualifications does Sangta have to speak about Astrologer?

Sangta looked at Bai Ruozhu in shock, ”How long have we known each other? Are you helping that Fusang person?”

”He is my senior brother’s younger brother and also my friend. Why can’t I help him? Moreover, he is lying here because he wanted to save Ao Song.” Bai Ruozhu said angrily.

Sangta’s eyes turned slightly red, and he looked at Ao Song again, ”I understand my feelings now, is it too late?”

Just one sentence, and Ao Song’s face was covered in tears. She turned her head away to avoid Sangta’s eager gaze, ”It’s too late, I am going to marry Astrologer.”

Madam Zhong became anxious upon hearing this, ”Songsong, you are being impulsive. Saving people is necessary but a forced marriage is unwise. I understand what’s in your heart, just follow what I say, even if Astrologer were awake, he would support my suggestion.”

Bai Ruozhu felt a sharp discomfort in her heart, she felt injustice for Astrologer and also somewhat pitied Ao Song.

She thought Ao Song wouldn’t have no feelings at all for Astrologer, but she still must be unable to let go of Sangta, right?

She opened her mouth, but finally closed it again. As for how to choose, let Ao Song decide for herself. If she doesn’t like Astrologer at all and is only marrying him out of gratitude, even if Astrologer wakes up, their lives will be miserable.

”Mother, people change.” Ao Song smiled a bit bleakly, and looked at Sangta, ”I’m not being impulsive, nor am I thinking of repaying kindness, I am very clear on what I’m doing.”

”You ...” Sangta’s face turned bright red, his eyes filled with blood red, ”You will regret it!”

After speaking, he wanted to swing his sleeve and leave but was stopped by Gao Deng.

”Aren’t you here to help?” Gao Deng asked.

”I came to steal the bride!” Sangta shouted, ”I couldn’t steal her, then what else am I doing here?”

Ao Song closed her eyes, tears streaming down, but did not look at Sangta again, nor stopped him.

Sangta looked at her once more, showing a disappointed expression, then glanced at Bai Ruozhu again, the disappointment more intense. Bai Ruozhu knew, Sangta blamed her.

His initial liking for Bai Ruozhu was more admiration and appreciation, whereas for Ao Song he unknowingly fell in love. It’s just a pity he realized it too late.

Both were women he liked, yet they both rejected him. In that case, why did Ao Song provoke him in the first place?

Madam Zhong still wanted to speak, but was stopped by Zhong Kui, who shook his head at her. Even Sangta’s confession did not change Ao Song’s heart, showing no one could persuade her now.

Ao Song wiped her tears, forced a faint smile, ”Father, continue please.”

”Okay.” Zhong Kui sighed silently, but he was somewhat gratified, his daughter grew up, had her own opinions, no longer the troublemaker girl climbing trees and playing in the mud.

The ceremony began as announced by the three clan elders. The Zhong family’s wedding is different from the ordinary, besides bowing to heaven and earth and masters, it also requires husband and wife blood exchange, signing a blood pact.

This equals an eternal seal, the man cannot divorce, the woman cannot demand separation, forever bound together.

Bai Ruozhu felt emotional. If there were such marriage contracts in modern times, would people marry more cautiously, and divorce rates be lower?

But if they really cannot get along, being forced together is too painful.

Fortunately, the women of Zhong family aren’t just accessories, they accept the family’s secret, and are quite capable.

The ceremony proceeded step by step, Madam Zhong’s eyes swelled from crying, but she had to accept this fact, receiving Ao Song’s bow.

Because Astrologer couldn’t kneel, Ao Song knelt twice on his behalf.

The final step arrived, the three clan elders took up a pitch-black curved knife presented by the four clan elders, made a cut on Ao Song’s and Astrologer’s wrists, then pressed their wrists together.

The other clan elders gathered around, Zhong Kui also stepped forward, all chanting obscure spells, the entire wedding hall became mysterious, a sense of ritual arose naturally.

Chushuang showed a solemn expression, whispered, ”It’s a very ancient ceremony. Didn’t expect the Zhong family to continue such a ritual.”

The Zhong family is not simple, likely already passed down for over a thousand years.

About a quarter of an hour later, the ceremony was over, their wrists were separated, surprisingly without any trace of blood, even the wounds were gone!

Bai Ruozhu was shocked, even her best ointment didn’t instantly heal without leaving a scar, this ceremony is truly exceptional.

”Ceremony complete, the couple enter the bridal chamber!” The three clan elders announced loudly.

The servants came forward to lift the couch holding Astrologer, carrying him out of the wedding hall, back to the room.

Ao Song bowed to everyone, ”Thank you grandpas for helping, father, mother, you’ve worked hard, Songsong will leave now.”

”Go ahead.” Zhong Kui felt sour inside, he had imagined many times the scene of his daughter getting married, being pulled away by the groom with a red cloth, thinking he would be reluctant.

But on this day, the groom couldn’t lead the daughter away, the daughter went back to the bridal chamber on her own.

Ao Song also bowed to Bai Ruozhu and others, thanked them for attending her wedding, invited them to sit and eat.

Who felt like eating, once Ao Song left, Bai Ruozhu and others bowed to Zhong Kui in farewell, each returning to their rooms.

”Do you think Sangta really left?” Bai Ruozhu muttered to Jiang Yichun.

”Left I guess, who knows.” Jiang Yichun still wasn’t very friendly towards Sangta, though today he somewhat sympathized with him, after all, his affections twice had no outcome.

Bai Ruozhu pursed her lips, ”I think he will come back, although he’s resentful, he won’t just ignore this matter. He’s a man of loyalty.”

Jiang Yichun grunted twice, ”Your evaluation of him is quite high.”

”I’m telling the truth, just wait and see, but pity that he already resents me.” Bai Ruozhu sighed.

”He saved you but you also saved him once, it’s even. You don’t owe him. You acted with reason, not favoritism, nothing wrong, no need to feel guilty.” Jiang Yichun said with a stern face.

Bai Ruozhu burst into laughter, ”Are you comforting me? Speaking so stiffly, how unwilling you are.”

”Not unwilling to comfort you, just annoyed he dares to blame you, who does he think he is?” Jiang Yichun said in frustration.
