Chapter 2112: Chapter 2110: Surrounded on All Sides

By the next morning, the people of Wei Hall continued to set up arrays to protect everyone from being ambushed by the forces of the Second Elder. The Third Elder and the Eighth Elder called some key members for a meeting to discuss the next plan, and they also summoned Bai Ruozhu.

Everyone was thinking about how to rescue the clan members imprisoned by the Second Elder, but even if they were rescued, what would they do afterward? Could they all hide in the mountains forever?

Bai Ruozhu listened as they discussed various strategies and suddenly said, ”Since you don’t want to kill the clan members, why don’t we use poison? As long as we can incapacitate them first, we can solve the other matters gradually.”

Elder Su asked worriedly, ”Will using poison not harm them? We discovered that some people’s eyes have a tinge of crimson, which must be due to the Second Elder’s use of an evil technique; otherwise, even with differing stances, they wouldn’t harm friends and neighbors they’re close to, right?”

Bai Ruozhu had considered before why the Second Elder could bribe so many to obey him. Now it seems he had been ambitious for a long time and secretly made some underhanded moves.

”No, it will only temporarily prevent them from using their inner strength. Once they break free from the Second Elder’s control, I’ll help them detoxify. But for now, the most important thing is to capture the instigator—the Second Elder.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Although many elders despised using poison and had never dealt with poison in their lives, they nonetheless agreed with Bai Ruozhu’s suggestion at this moment. Because, whenever swords clash, injuries are inevitable. Even if they don’t want to hurt the others, what if the others harm them? If poison could minimize the damage, that would be ideal.

Afterward, the elders discussed how to attack, how to allocate the military forces, and where to break through. Bai Ruozhu said she wouldn’t participate; she would go first to prepare the poison, and they could notify her when they had a result.

The elders immediately agreed and said that if she needed any herbal medicine, they could send people to the mountains to pick it.

Bai Ruozhu nodded and said, ”I’ll compile a list, and later you can send people to the mountains to look for them!”

Over the next two days, the tactical plan was mostly in place, and Bai Ruozhu had also prepared a significant amount of medicine. She distributed poison and antidotes to everyone, instructing them to avoid getting the poison powder on themselves even if they had the antidote.

Before dawn on the third day, during the darkest time, several elders led a group of horsemen down the mountain and into the place where the Second Elder held the clan members captive.

Wei Hall and some injured people remained behind, silently praying as they watched the figures of their clan members leave, hoping everyone would return safely.

Si Yihuan sat on the ground weakly. After being unconscious for three days, she only woke up after being brought to the mountain, but she still felt listless. She felt deeply guilty, thinking that not only had she been unable to help, but she had also fainted at a critical time, needing someone to carry her, which truly dragged everyone down.

Bai Zepei sat next to her and softly said, ”What are you thinking about? Worried about Ruozhu?”

Si Yihuan nodded, ”It’s a pity I can’t help at all.”

”Silly, you saved my life.” Bai Zepei said with a smile. Seeing Si Yihuan’s surprised expression, he continued, ”I’m not just comforting you. Xiu Shao said that your divine sense is naturally exceptional. At that time, you stopped the spikes from falling. Otherwise, Fen Jizhi and I would have been turned into a pincushion.”

Si Yihuan covered her chest, ”Don’t talk about that. Just thinking about the scene makes me terrified. But I didn’t do anything?”

”You just don’t know it yourself. Xiu Shao said I could go to Wei Hall to find books on cultivating divine sense for you. Once you have the cultivation method, you’ll be able to use it better, instead of suffering from headaches after just one use.” Bai Zepei said as he reached out to massage her temples, knowing that she had been suffering in recent days.

Si Yihuan had a blank expression, clearly not having come around from Bai Zepei’s words. It took her a moment before she smiled, ”So I protected you?”

Bai Zepei nodded, ”And you helped me during the Enlightenment Tablet trial as well.”

Si Yihuan scratched her head with a silly smile, ”Really? How come I don’t know any of this?”

Not far away, Fen Jizhi, still recovering from injuries, said sourly, ”They say fools have their blessings; I’ve finally seen it firsthand.”

Si Yihuan wasn’t mad at the comment about her being foolish. She laughed, stood up, and saluted him, ”I haven’t thanked Mr. Fen for helping my husband that day.”

Fen Jizhi, unable to join the rescue because of his injuries, was in a foul mood and said lightly, ”No need to thank me, I was just repaying a favor to Bai Ruozhu.”

Meanwhile, the main force raided the location to rescue the people, only to find the prison cells empty. The Second Elder had already moved the people.

The Third Elder almost smashed the prison cell’s main gate in anger, saying, ”That Second Elder is too cunning and shrewd. Who knows where he’s taken the people?”

”Dawn is almost upon us; finding another opportunity won’t be easy.” Bai Ruozhu could only suggest, ”Perhaps we should retreat for now, send someone to first find out where they are being held, and then it’s not too late to plan.”

Everyone agreed, thinking they couldn’t just wander around like headless chickens?

Just as they exited the prison cells, they heard the Second Elder’s arrogant laugh, ”You’ve finally come. Now I’ll catch you all in one fell swoop!”

With his command, a group of people surrounded Bai Ruozhu and her companions.

The Second Elder glared with his drooping eyes at Bai Ruozhu, ”You’ve finally fallen into my hands today, and I’ll let you know what you shouldn’t provoke.”

Bai Ruozhu squinted her eyes, ”I’ll return those words to you. Since you’ve prepared, let’s have a good battle.”

A woman in a red dress walked out from behind the Second Elder, her expression and makeup were extremely flamboyant, resembling a demon woman playing with fire.

Bai Ruozhu looked at her in surprise. Isn’t this Fo Lanying? How did she become like this in just a few days?

Fo Lanying arrogantly looked at Bai Ruozhu, ”Unexpected, isn’t it? I came out alive from the Enlightenment Tablet. Don’t think only your second brother is a genius. I’m also a mechanist, and if we meet again, he’ll die by my hand!”

She glanced at the surrounded people, disappointedly saying, ”Too bad Bai Zepei, that cowardly turtle, didn’t dare to come. But it doesn’t matter, you came instead, so let’s have a good fight today and see who’s really the waste.”

Bai Ruozhu sensed something was wrong with her, as if an evil aura clung to her, different from her original arrogance and brazenness, as if she had become a different person.

”Everyone, attack! Don’t hold back. Whoever kills an Elder, I’ll make them an Elder.” The Second Elder laughed as he shouted.

The Fifth Elder pointed at him and said, ”Second Elder, you’re shameless. We’re all from the same clan, having known each other for decades, and you go for extermination. If half of the Jiuli Clan dies, how will you defend when the Quanrong Clan attacks? How will you face the ancestors of the clan then?”
