Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2105: Chapter 2103: All His Food

Fen Jizhi stood frozen in place, ”What do you know?”

”That voice already threatened me, saying that if we proceed, he would mercilessly obliterate us,” Bai Ruozhu said with a grim expression.

Fen Jizhi flew into a rage, ”Does he think he can just obliterate us? Does he think we’re ants?”

Bai Ruozhu didn’t respond, but Fen Jizhi’s shoulders sagged, as if all strength had left his body, muttering, ”Haha, in his eyes, we are indeed like ants.”

She didn’t want to see him so dejected, yet she couldn’t watch him march to his death. She sighed and said, ”There are so many clansmen waiting for us to rescue them. Why waste time here? No matter how many secrets, they are left by the ancestors. What significance do they hold for us? Even if the Jiuli are truly as described in the secrets, that was hundreds of years ago. What does it have to do with us now?”

Fen Jizhi’s expression changed, seemingly taking in Bai Ruozhu’s words.

”Let’s go, everyone is waiting for you. This place changes in an instant, who knows what else can happen. Do you want them to have any incidents?” Bai Ruozhu added.

Fen Jizhi was no match for Bai Ruozhu now, and her words indeed moved him somewhat. Ultimately, he nodded and followed Bai Ruozhu back, only to find the place where the clansmen were waiting completely deserted, not a single soul in sight!

”What happened? Did they leave before us?” Fen Jizhi asked.

Bai Ruozhu shook her head, pointing to the ground, ”Look, there are no footprints or marks on the ground, as if no one has been here. It’s impossible they left. So many people, even if careful, would leave some traces. Has something changed here again?”

Bai Ruozhu was worried for her family’s safety, anxious with worry, wishing she could call out to Fen Cheng and ask him about the situation. But as she looked around, she couldn’t spot Fen Cheng, and even if she shouted, he might not hear her.

”What do we do now?” Fen Jizhi, somewhat exhausted, sat down on the ground, eyes filled with guilt. If it weren’t for his willful actions, perhaps this wouldn’t have happened. Could his reckless wandering be the reason the voice’s owner punished the clansmen?

”Let’s search ten miles north first!” Bai Ruozhu suggested.

Fen Jizhi nodded, having no other choice for now.

The two continued northward, finding the Stone Lions, yet still saw no trace of the clansmen. There was no point in opening the exit, so they circled back, but by the time they did, night had fallen.

Under the moonlight, that mysterious palace seemed shrouded in a bizarre, blood-red glow, appearing utterly surreal.

Bai Ruozhu felt a sense of foreboding. Shouldn’t moonlight be a gentle white or pale yellow glow? Why was the palace covered in a red light, was it blood color?

Startled by her own thoughts, she pondered, ”Could they have been transferred to that mysterious palace?”

Fen Jizhi shivered and suddenly pounded the ground with his hand, ”It’s all my fault, I brought this on everyone!”

At this moment, a ghostly cacophony suddenly erupted from the distant palace, as if countless voices spoke in unison, orderly but chaotic, accompanied by echoes.

”Do you think you can stop me?”

Bai Ruozhu leaped up from the ground, ”Something must have happened at the palace. I have to check it out.”

Fen Jizhi also stood up, but Bai Ruozhu quickly turned and told him, ”You shouldn’t go, you’re injured. Stay here and wait for everyone. If they’re not there, you can help them here.”

He hesitated but, considering his condition, could only slow things down. He nodded and agreed.

Bai Ruozhu, still uneasy, reminded him, ”This time you really can’t run around. If everyone returns, at least someone can inform them of my situation. If I’m not back by dawn, lead everyone to the Stone Lions. Remember, use two fingers to pierce the Stone Lions’ eyes to open the Main Gate. Don’t tell this to others, just remember it yourself.”

Fen Jizhi worriedly asked, ”What if you don’t come back? Are you not getting out?”

”I’ll figure something out. The Main Gate isn’t an open-once gate. Preserving everyone’s life is the priority. Remember, you still need to rescue those outside.” With that, Bai Ruozhu ran ahead and soon disappeared into the night.

In the eerie Main Hall, the white-robed Fen Cheng was forming hand seals, seemingly resisting something. But upon closer inspection, he was alone in the Main Hall.

Sweat dotted his forehead, rare for him to have such a solemn expression, as if the resistance was taking a toll on him.

Suddenly, countless voices sounded, ”It’s been so long since there was such fresh blood and flesh. You can’t stop me. If you don’t back down, don’t blame me for showing no mercy to your clan.”

Fen Jizhi coldly snorted, ”After a thousand years, you’re still as greedy and cunning.”

Suddenly, the sound of chaotic footsteps came from the doorway. Fen Jizhi’s face changed dramatically. Those people had reached here; they were moved here and found the Main Hall.

Amid the mixed sounds, loud laughter ensued, ”Haha, my meal is here!”

The Third Elder and others shivered involuntarily, a sense of terror welling up. But having been transported to this palace against their will, they wandered for ages before finally arriving here. It seemed the palace’s Main Gate should be here too.

Upon entering, they saw the white-robed Fen Cheng. Bai Zepei was taken aback, mumbling, ”This must be the white-robed person my sister mentioned, he really exists.”

Bai Ruozhu had talked to her brother about the white-robed person. Bai Zepei naturally knew his sister wouldn’t lie, harboring some curiosity about the mysterious white-robed person. Yet, he never managed to see Fen Cheng, except now. Preoccupied with battling the monster, Fen Cheng couldn’t hide his presence from the Jiuli Clan.

Perhaps due to the appearance of fresh meat, the monster laughed sinisterly. A mass of black fog surged on the throne, hiding something within, though dense black fog concealed its identity.

The Tenth Elder stood frozen, suddenly displaying a look of fear, pointing at the black fog, ”How could it be... how could it be...”

Fen Cheng turned his head and glared fiercely, ”Shut up! All of you get out!”

The Tenth Elder shivered, recalling it was a clan taboo. As a child, he’d mischievously peeked at a secret volume from a former clan leader. Though unsure of what it was, he knew this monster mustn’t be spoken of.

Suddenly, someone screamed, ”Help, something’s got hold of me!”
