Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 793: Chapter 795: Chu Han’s Perseverance

”Why?” Chu Han asked coldly, seemingly oblivious to Jiang Yichun’s jealousy, and continued to press for answers.

”Inconvenient!” This word was practically squeezed through Jiang Yichun’s teeth, his face colder than ice, his gaze on Chu Han fierce and piercing.

Chu Han still wore a cold face, seemingly oblivious to social niceties. ”What’s inconvenient?” he asked.

Tired of the back-and-forth, Jiang Yichun scoffed, ”You don’t need to know so much, my wife currently has no intention of taking any disciples, nor is it convenient to have too much contact with you.”

Diao Yao, chilled by the icy air between them, moved to hide behind Bai Ruozhu and whispered, ”Sister Bai, I always thought Brother Han was as cold as his name suggests, I never thought that your husband would be even more terrifying. Is he always this harsh with you?”

Hearing Diao Yao’s words, Bai Ruozhu almost laughed out loud. These two were indeed chilly men, their presence practically freezing the area.

”No, he’s always the best to me,” Bai Ruozhu replied with a giggle.

Jiang Yichun was not deaf. Even though their voices were lowered, he could still hear their conversation. His lips twitched - he was confronting Chu Han for her sake, yet here she was chatting with Diao Yao. But her response satisfied him, so he decided not to make a big deal out of it.

”Alright, we have things to take care of. Please take your leave,” Jiang Yichun said to Muyu.

Muyu gestured for Chu Han to leave.

Turning back, Jiang Yichun’s face, icy a moment ago, softened like water. He reached over to wrap his arm around Bai Ruozhu’s slender waist, saying, ”Let’s go play with our son.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded and, holding back her laughter, agreed.

She knew Jiang Yichun had heard her earlier. Seeing him to be so attentive and affectionate now, unlike his usual detached self, she realized he was clearly demonstrating his possession over her.

”Sister Bai,” Diao Yao pleaded, ”please don’t send Brother Han away! He just wants to study medicine and learn from you.”

”I’m just an ordinary woman, not a famous doctor. I don’t have much ambition or pursuit in medicine. Why don’t you find a reputable doctor as a mentor instead? It could greatly boost your future prospects,” Bai Ruozhu suggested.

Jiang Yichun knelt down to Chu Han’s level, his hand still on Bai Ruozhu’s waist, tightening slightly, she had talked so much with Chu Han and he didn’t like it. He gestured to Muyu and Chenfeng, who came up to usher Chu Han away.

Diao Yao gave Bai Ruozhu a pitiful look before reluctantly following Chu Han out.

Once they were gone, Jiang Yichun’s arm around Bai Ruozhu’s waist tightened a little more. He looked at Bai Ruozhu and ground his teeth, ”Why does he insist on you being his master? Aren’t you younger than him?”

”How would I know? You should ask him yourself,” Bai Ruozhu rolled her eyes - this man could be truly bothersome when jealous.

Jiang Yichun pulled Bai Ruozhu even closer, aggressively reminding her, ”No matter what, you are not allowed to take him as your disciple!”

Bai Ruozhu started laughing again, pinching his face playfully, ”You’re so jealous! You didn’t react so strongly when I mentioned this before. Are you worried about his good looks?”

Chu Han indeed was handsome, with a tall and lean figure, and he was a bit taller than Jiang. His typical cool demeanor gave him an added masculine touch, so it’s no wonder Diao Yao was so smitten.

Bai Ruozhu enjoyed beautiful people, but seeing Jiang Yichun every day had built up her immunity. So when she first saw Chu Han, she only noted that he was a bit taller.

Jiang Yichun’s face turned red then white at Bai Ruozhu’s words. He wanted to deny his jealousy, but doing so would make him look foolish. In the end, he could only say stubbornly, ”Stop talking nonsense, and just do as I say.”

Bai Ruozhu gave him a glare - he was growing too big for his boots. But she decided not to argue any further, so he wouldn’t think she was really interested in Chu Han.

After she finished speaking, Jiang Yichun ordered Muyu and Chenfeng, ”When I’m not here, guard her well, and do not let Chu Han approach.”

”Yes.”

”Yes.”

Chenfeng was sweating internally. If his master got angry just because Chu Han wanted to make Bai his master, what would happen if he found out that Chenfeng had hugged Bai? Chenfeng dreaded the thought. Thankfully, he had bribed Muyu and warned the servants, so hopefully, no one would blab to the master.

In the afternoon, Jiang Yichun left for errands. Not long after, Bai Ruozhu heard Diao Yao’s voice in the house.

”Sister Bai, Sister Bai!” Diao Yao’s voice sounded like it was coming from just next door, neither too close nor too far away.

Bai Ruozhu, who had been putting Dengdeng to sleep, quickly got up to put on her clothes and answer, inadvertently causing quite a commotion in the process.

”Young miss, don’t climb the walls! It’s dangerous! If you have something to say, say it on the ground!” Lin Ping’er saw Diao Yao, just fourteen, and feared she may fall.

Diao Yao giggled and replied, ”Auntie, don’t worry, I’m quite skilled in moving.”

When Bai Ruozhu walked out of her house and heard this, she recalled the way Diao Yao had deftly dodged opponents during their duel. It was clear that Diao Yao wasn’t trying to avoid her opponents, but instead was practicing and honing her own skills.

”Yao, what are you doing next door?” Bai Ruozhu asked, feeling somewhat helpless.

”Brother Han refused to leave, and since we didn’t have a place to stay, we decided to stay next door at Granny Zhang’s house,” Diao Yao replied with a grin.

Bai Ruozhu’s home was neighbored on one side by the Du family’s mansion, which was currently rented by the Bai family. On the other side was a house owned by a Zhang family, an elderly lady who was friendly and often exchanged foods with them during festivals.

Bai Ruozhu wondered how Diao Yao had persuaded Granny Zhang. If Jiang Yichun found out that Chu Han was staying right next door, Bai Ruozhu was pretty sure he would be infuriated. She looked at Muyu and Chenfeng, who were clearly on high alert.
