Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 772: Chapter 774: The Female Doctor He Hired is Her!

Ruyi had said before that Yu Hongxiu’s fetal position was always good, meaning the baby was head down and could be safely delivered naturally. But now one of the twins’ fetal position was wrong, what does that mean?

In ancient times, a caesarean section couldn’t be performed. If the fetal position was abnormal, it would be a difficult birth, which might put both the mother and child in danger, hence the saying that giving birth was like passing through the Ghost Gate. But an abnormal fetal position wasn’t completely hopeless. Experienced doctors or midwives could help the pregnant woman by massaging her belly to correct the fetal position, so by the same logic, they could also manipulate it into an incorrect position.

Wasn’t that Deng Shi’s intention? Thinking about this, Bai Ruozhu wished she could flay Deng Shi alive. What should have been a smooth delivery was ruined by her, and Bai Ruozhu suspected that the earlier incident of bumping into Yu Hongxiu was also deliberately arranged.

Bai Ruozhu herself didn’t know how to massage a pregnant woman to correct fetal positions. She had never had such opportunities for practical operation before. Thinking about this, she ordered to Jianqi outside: ”Go find the best female doctor or midwife in town who can correct the baby’s fetal position through massage. Be quick.”

”Yes.” Jianqi knew the situation was urgent, and he disappeared in a flash.

Mr. Xie rushed in alarm, asking anxiously, ”Is the baby’s position wrong?” His eyes reddened as soon as he finished asking, pulling Yu Hongxiu’s hand. Yu Hongxiu was also nervously staring at Bai Ruodu, afraid to hear bad news.

”Sister Hongxiu is carrying twins. The positions of the babies were fine before, but just now one of their positions was disrupted by those two old witches. Mr. Xie, considering what your aunt has planned, I can’t let it go easily!” Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth and said.

Mr. Xie couldn’t help crying, holding Yu Hongxiu’s hand and saying: ”Hongxiu, it’s my fault for not protecting you. I deserve to die.”

At this moment, Bai Ruozhu was annoyed. She gave him a push and said: ”You get out, don’t disturb me here.”

Lin Ping’er also persuaded him a few times before Mr. Xie reluctantly left for the door step.

”Ruozhu, do you think the baby will be okay? It’s all my fault for being so stupid. She said she was bringing clothes for the child, so I thought I would receive her gift as a courtesy. I didn’t know she had already planned everything. She even set a fire to distract the guards and bribed the midwife I hired. I’m so helpless. I can’t even protect my own child, can I?” While saying this, Yu Hongxiu was hit by a wave of pain, and her breath became heavier.

Bai Ruozhu quickly grasped her hand and said, ”Idiot, you are about to give birth, how can you think of everything in advance? Don’t worry, I’ll make sure your child is born safely. But you have to cooperate with me now and stop thinking about these sad things. Adjust your mood, gradually adjust your breathing to reduce pain, and maintain your strength.”

”Okay, okay, I’ll do as you say.” Yu Hongxiu hurriedly did as Bai Ruozhu instructed.

Bai Ruozhu instructed Ruyi to prepare some food. Yu Hongxiu had to eat dinner. Even if she didn’t want to eat, she needed to eat something so she wouldn’t be weak during childbirth.

Bai Ruozhu and her mother helped Yu Hongxiu slowly get up and asked her to keep walking around the room. This would help the cervix to open faster, and she would endure less pain.

After Yu Hongxiu had her dinner, Bai Ruozhu and Lin Ping’er also had some food. They might have to stay up all night, and they couldn’t let themselves breakdown at such a critical time.

At this time, Jianqi brought the female doctor. When Bai Ruozhu saw the person, she was taken aback.

”Master, she is Liu Baishuang, the best female doctor in Beiyu City who specializes in helping pregnant women correct their baby’s position.” Jianqi said, but he soon noticed that his master’s expression was wrong. He thought to himself, I checked carefully, this female doctor is truly skilled.

Bai Ruozhu smiled awkwardly at the incoming female doctor and said, ”Doctor Liu, it’s been a while.”

Yes, it was Liu Baishuang who had delivered Bai Ruozhu’s baby before. She was originally a relative of the Du Family, so it was not surprising to see her in Beiyu City now. But the fallout between Bai Ruozhu and the Du Family was so bad, would Bai Ruozhu really trust Liu Baishuang to help?

Bai Ruozhu felt uncertain. She didn’t dare to take this risk for Yu Hongxiu.

Liu Baishuang also did not expect to meet Bai Ruozhu. She snorted coldly and said, ”Truly, enemies always cross each other’s paths. If you had known it was me, you wouldn’t have invited me, would you?”

”It seems that we had no grudges in the past, right? Even if I have grievances with the Du Family, you can only blame Old Master Du for being greedy, for faking to take my money, and for being dishonest in business, which led the Du Family to their downfall.” Bai Ruozhu said a bit unhappily. She was not at fault in the matter with the Du Family. No matter when this topic came up, she wouldn’t let herself get wronged.

Liu Baishuang snorted coldly, ”I have no grudge with you, but do you dare let me deliver the baby?”

Bai Ruozhu was speechless for a while. She couldn’t help looking at Yu Hongxiu. Could they take this risk? But if they went to find a new female doctor or midwife now, it might be hard to find one.

Yu Hongxiu, leaning on the bed, said with some difficulty: ”I have long heard of Doctor Liu’s reputation. The past few times I went to see her, I wasn’t able to because she was out. Ruozhu, Doctor Liu has a good reputation, and I am willing to trust her character.”

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but sigh. When she was about to give birth, she had originally hired Ji Wenpo from Liuye Village. But Zhu Pozi from the village schemed against her, causing her to doubt Ji Wenpo’s reliability. Later, she offended Ji went, and as a result, she couldn’t even find a midwife in the nearby villages and ended up finding Liu Baishuang.

Thinking about it now, it was something she shouldn’t have done to doubt the professional integrity of a medical practitioner.

”I hope Doctor Liu will not disappoint the mother-to-be.” Even if she was the villain, Bai Ruozhu still added one more sentence. It wasn’t that she was overly suspicious, but she had to ensure Yu Hongxiu’s safety.

Liu Baishuang snorted coldly, went to check Yu Hongxiu’s fetus position. Upon checking, her face fell, and she asked, ”Her fetal position should not have been like this, right? It wasn’t you who messed it up, was it?”

”Doctor, you misunderstood. It was those two women outside who plotted against me.” Yu Hongxiu explained hastily.

Liu Baishuang’s face softened a bit and didn’t bother Bai Ruozhu anymore, continuing to check Yu Hongxiu’s condition.

”One baby is not in the right position, but to avoid affecting the other one, I can only take my time. The biggest fear with twins is that they get tangled in each other’s umbilical cords.” Liu Baishuang’s voice was quite gentle towards Yu Hongxiu.

”Thank you, Doctor Liu.” Yu Hongxiu gave her a smile, and soon she closed her eyes in pain again.

Until it got completely dark, Yu Hongxiu’s cervix had not fully opened. Liu Baishuang hadn’t corrected the baby’s position either. She was so anxious that she was breaking into a slight sweat on her forehead. Lin Ping’er was greatly worried about the situation and had quietly prayed to the Buddha several times, hoping that the Buddha would protect Yu Hongxiu and her baby.

When it was time to light the lamps, Jiang Yichun appeared holding Dengdeng, saying to Xie Dun, ”I’m worried about my wife and mother-in-law. I’ll stay here tonight.”
