I Just Started College, How Could I Become a Part-Time Papa?!

Chapter 33: Chapter 33: It Seems You Bought Tickets for the Couple’s Theater

Huh?

Jiang Wanyi looked at Chen Yuan in surprise, but then her expression softened with understanding.

He knew so much about childcare; of course he would know about postpartum matters too.

Jiang Wanyi nodded. ”But it’s not serious, so I’m planning to get it checked out. I don’t want to put it off. You really know a lot, though.”

”That’s a normal phenomenon, right? I think it happens with all natural births,” Chen Yuan said.

”But in your case, as long as you rest and recover well, it probably won’t be a major issue even if you don’t deliberately do any postpartum recovery exercises.”

”If I were 10 years younger, I probably wouldn’t even care about this stuff. But I’m over 30 now, not so young anymore. My body isn’t like those young girls’, and I’m worried it won’t bounce back. That’s why I plan to ask a doctor and get a professional opinion.”

”And what happens after you get a professional opinion? You have to take care of the baby every day. You don’t have time to go to the hospital for postpartum recovery, do you?”

”Don’t even ask. That’s exactly what I’m worried about,” Jiang Wanyi said, her face clouded with concern.

”If all else fails, I’ll just have to exercise at home on my own, or find a physical therapist to make house calls.”

Chen Yuan thought for a moment. Given Jiang Wanyi’s situation, even house calls might not be convenient.

After all, she only had a little bit of free time when the baby was sleeping.

[System Mission: As a super-dad, it is your undeniable duty to help the new mom complete her postpartum recovery and achieve a better figure. Reward: 1,400 yuan cash, Fat-Reduction Card x1.]

[Fat-Reduction Card: Upon use, body fat percentage will decrease by 3%.]

’That’s not a small amount, is it?’

Chen Yuan didn’t know his own body fat percentage, but he guessed it was around 20%. If he dropped another 3%, who could even tell the difference between him and Daniel Wu?

”Hiring a physical therapist isn’t cheap.”

”Even if it’s not cheap, it needs to be treated. You can’t delay treatment for a medical issue. If it gets serious, you might lose the chance to treat it at all, and it could easily leave lasting side effects.”

Chen Yuan nodded. After Tongzi infused him with the relevant experience, he knew this subject like the back of his hand.

If one didn’t handle the postpartum confinement period properly, it would inevitably lead to some problems.

For example, aching in the bone sutures on cloudy or rainy days, postpartum anxiety, the pelvis failing to return to its original state...

If a woman has a child at a young age, these problems are much less severe. That’s why most of these related issues occur in older mothers.

”You can give that money to me. I’ll give you a 20% discount.”

Jiang Wanyi’s eyes lit up.

Given his level of expertise, he definitely understood these things. Maybe he could really help her solve these problems.

Since she couldn’t go to the hospital, he was probably the best choice.

”Forget a 20% discount, I’d be happy to give you extra. I’m just worried you won’t take my money.”

”You’re already calling me your little brother. Wouldn’t taking money make us seem like strangers?”

”I knew you’d say that.”

”In any case, I’m not going to be polite with you anymore. Besides, this isn’t something I can be polite about. I really need the help.”

”Mm.”

With a major worry resolved, Jiang Wanyi’s mood improved greatly.

She didn’t try to control her appetite in front of Chen Yuan. She had come out today to indulge, so she had to eat her fill.

Since neither of them drank alcohol, they were more or less finished eating in about an hour.

”I want to go see a movie. Is there anything you want to watch?” Jiang Wanyi said, holding her phone.

”Anything’s fine. I’m not picky.”

”There’s a romance movie with good reviews. Should we go see it?”

”Okay.”

Jiang Wanyi checked the time. ”It starts in 30 minutes. We’re about done eating, so the timing is perfect.”

”We can wander around the first floor and buy some things for your postpartum recovery.”

”I’ll follow your lead.”

After paying the bill, they took the escalator down to the first floor and went to a sporting goods store.

Jiang Wanyi needed to buy some equipment and props for her postpartum recovery.

”I don’t know anything about this stuff, so I’m counting on you.”

”Mm.”

Chen Yuan looked around. The store was quite well-stocked.

There was even a section dedicated to yoga and Pilates equipment.

But postpartum recovery wasn’t like the prenatal ’baby-making’; it didn’t require so many fancy things. A foam roller and a yoga ball would be enough.

Jiang Wanyi bought a pair of yoga pants and a small tank top to wear for her postpartum recovery exercises.

After checking out, they put their purchases in the car, and then they could head to the movie.

But they had only taken a few steps when Jiang Wanyi stopped and looked at a storefront across the way.

Full Sky Infant and Toddler Early Education Center.

”Mili is only nine months old. Is it a bit early for early education?”

Subconsciously, Jiang Wanyi had developed a habit of asking Chen Yuan first about anything related to the baby.

She would only do something if he said it was okay.

”It’s not too early. She can do some training in that area.”

In Chen Yuan’s mind, he had experience related to early education. It was perfectly fine for a nine-month-old baby to start.

But he didn’t know the specifics of how to teach her. The experience was vague. He might be rewarded with skills in this area in the future, but he didn’t have them now.

”Let’s go take a look...”

Seeing Chen Yuan and Jiang Wanyi approach, an employee who was handing out flyers at the entrance walked over.

”Sir, ma’am, are you interested in consulting about our early education courses? How old is your child?”

”Nine months.”

”Nine months is a great time to start early education. It allows the baby to perceive the world earlier, and we can conduct targeted training.”

The female employee handed them a small brochure with relevant information inside.

Jiang Wanyi read it seriously, but she was completely baffled and shot Chen Yuan a pleading look.

Chen Yuan glanced at it too, but he didn’t have much of an opinion.

It wasn’t accurate to evaluate these kinds of things based on whether they were ”useful” or not.

You get what you pay for; it would ultimately be useful to some extent, just a matter of how much.

”As it happens, we have a trial class tomorrow, starting at three in the afternoon. You can bring your baby over to check it out. If you find it useful, there’s still time to sign up then.”

Jiang Wanyi looked at Chen Yuan. ”What do you think?”

”Is the time convenient for you?”

”I’m picking up the baby tomorrow afternoon, so three o’clock is perfect.” Jiang Wanyi smoothed the bangs on her forehead. ”I remember you have your driver’s license test, right?”

”My test is at one in the afternoon tomorrow. It’ll be over in about an hour, so that’s fine too.”

”Then should we come and check it out? It’s close to home, anyway.”

”Sure, it’s up to you.”

After they finished discussing it, Jiang Wanyi looked at the female employee.

”We’ll come by tomorrow to take a look.”

”Okay, let’s get a contact number. The father’s or the mother’s is fine, as long as we can reach you.”

”You can have mine.”

This time, Jiang Wanyi didn’t bother to explain their relationship and just left her phone number.

”I’ll contact you in advance tomorrow,” the employee said.

”Okay.”

After leaving their contact information, the two of them left.

As for the small interlude of being misunderstood, it was like a small pebble tossed into a lake. It seemed to sink to the bottom, but it created ripples that spread and lingered for a long time.

They carried their things down to the second basement level, put them in the car, and returned to the fifth floor of the mall. The movie was starting in a few minutes.

”I’ll go get the tickets,” Jiang Wanyi said.

”I’ll go buy some other things.”

The two split up. Chen Yuan went to the counter and bought a Coke and other drinks.

After buying the items, they got in line. Once they entered the theater, they realized something was off.

The seats inside weren’t normal chairs, but rather sofa beds you could lie down on.

There was a small partition between each spot, which provided a tiny bit of private space...

”I think you bought tickets for the couple’s theater...”
