Chapter 4022: Battle for the Spring

Springs varied in size, but even the smallest one could produce a couple hundred strands of Taiji spiritual Qi.

At this moment, a violent battle unfolded near the spring. Several hundred Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals were locked in battle, fighting to the death.

From their uniforms, one side was the Black Demon Palace, while the other side consisted of their mortal enemies, the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon.

The disciples on both sides rapidly decreased. The power of formations would emerge on the battlefield from time to time, protecting the disciples on the brink of death before forcefully transporting them out of the Taiji mountain range and disqualifying them for good.

However, the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon possessed an absolute numerical advantage. As a result, the disciples of the Black Demon Palace that stood guard near the spring were forced into a retreat.

“It’s Ye Kai, the strongest core disciple of the Black Demon Palace. Quick, ask senior Wen for reinforcements…”

“Oh no, Ye Kai is here. It’s said that he can contend with Immortal Monarchs in battle with his cultivation at the peak of Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal. We’re not his opponent at all…”

“Senior brother Wen, only senior brother Wen can fend off Ye Kai in battle…”

The arrival of Ye Kai’s group immediately caused the expressions of many of the disciples from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon to change drastically. They became wary.

“Kill them all!” Ye Kai roared furiously, entering the encirclement with over a hundred disciples without any hesitation. Like a sharp blade, they pierced deeply into the ranks of the disciples of the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon.

Ye Kai erupted with a powerful presence. He wore a pair of low quality god artifact gloves on his hands, heavily injuring a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon with a single punch, sending him flying backwards while coughing up blood.

However, before the disciple could steady himself, Ye Kai immediately caught up. His gloves shone with blinding light as he swung out a second time.

However, right when his punch was about to land, the power of the formation protecting the Taiji mountain range appeared, forming a barrier that blocked his attack. At the same time, it disqualified the disciple from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon, sending him out of the Taiji mountain range and making him disappear before Ye Kai.

At this moment, Ye Kai was like a hungry wolf in a flock of sheep. He carried out a massacre with no one to stop him. In just half a minute, seven Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon had been expelled from the Taiji mountain range.

In the end, the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon mobilised ten late Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals to finally manage to keep Ye Kai busy.

The entry of Ye Kai’s group turned the tides of the battle for the disciples of the Black Demon Palace guarding the spring. They directly gained the upper hand. They completely overwhelmed the two hundred odd disciples from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon.

“Ye Kai, I didn’t think you’d actually get here before me, but your Black Demon Palace is destined to have nothing to do with this spring. It belongs to our Blade Sect of Trickling Moon.”

Soon after the Black Demon Palace had gained the upper hand, a heavy voice drowned out the rumbles on the battlefield, echoing through the mountains.

The reinforcements from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon had arrived. Around two hundred Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals shot over, joining the battle without saying anything more.

On top of that, many smaller groups of disciples from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon provided reinforcements from all directions. They either moved alone or in groups of three and five, scattered throughout the entire mountain range as they converged.

Immediately, the Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon reached five or six hundred in number. On the other hand, the Black Demon Palace only had around three hundred people with Ye Kai’s group included.

The Black Demon Palace lost the upper hand once again.

Ye Kai was extremely stern. He stopped going after regular disciples of the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon. His gaze was fixed on the bald, middle-aged man in front of him. His eyes shone with a vicious colour.

The bald, middle-aged man was called Wen Bozhong. He was the senior brother Wen that the core disciples of the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon had mentioned. His status in the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon was identical to Ye Kai’s status in the Black Demon Palace. He was also the strongest core disciple in his organisation.

Ye Kai said nothing. His energy surged as his gloves erupted with blinding light. He directly engaged Wen Bo in battle.

During this period, Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals arrived from all directions to provide reinforcements for both sides. However, they were all smaller groups. There were no hundred-man squads.

Despite that, the participants in the chaotic battle between the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon and the Black Demon Palace had already exceeded a thousand.

On the battlefield, the power of the formation around the Taiji mountain range appeared more and more frequently. Both sides had many disciples disqualified, forcefully expelled from the area.

“Mongrels of the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon, even if I die, I’m going to drag you down with me…”

“The Black Demon Palace can’t last much longer. Use your full strength, everyone. Kill them all…”

Furious roars rang out from the battlefield from time to time. The two organisations had already developed a deep feud. Now that they met, they were obviously exceptionally aggressive. All of them were locked in a battle to the death.

As a matter of fact, some disciples even gave up on defence. They desperately used their most powerful attacks in an attempt to drag the enemy down with them.

This was the Taiji mountain range after all. They were protected by the powers of the formation. They did not have to worry about their lives at all. In this battle, their greatest price they had to pay was expending some vitality.

Their expenditure here could be easily made up for with the resources rewarded to them by the sect once they returned.

The numbers on both sides rapidly decreased. Ye Kai was caught in a battle against Wen Bozhong, and they remained evenly matched. All of the disciples were already bloodied. Supreme quality immortal artifacts shattered one after another. There were even some disciples who fought until their bodies were destroyed, sent out of the Taiji mountain range under the formation’s protection as mere souls.

However, the difference in numbers put the Black Demon Palace at an obvious disadvantage, which only grew more evident as time went on.

“Lady Jing, let’s go. We won’t be able to hold onto this spiritual Qi spring…”

“Damned Blade Sect of Trickling Moon, there will be a day when I make you pay. Let’s go, let’s go. If we don’t leave now, we won’t be able to leave anymore…”

Sheng Zhiyi and Sheng Zhibai had already retreated to the back. They arrived before Jing Mumu and urged her anxiously.

“You want to leave? I’m afraid it’s not going to be that easy!” A disciple of the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon noticed them. He sneered as he arrived from afar with just a few flashes.

Sheng Zhiyi and Sheng Zhibai’s faces immediately paled, as the disciple from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon blocking their way was a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal.

He was not an early or mid Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal but a late one!

With a sudden flash, Jing Yao flew over with a sword in hand. The low quality god artifact sword in her hand shone brilliantly. She became locked in battle against the Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal from the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon.

Boom! Jing Yao swung out at full strength, forcing back the disciple of the Blade Sect of Trickling Moon. As sword Qi scattered everywhere, she suddenly looked back at Jing Mumu and said, “Quick, leave here.” After saying that, she rushed back out with her sword, engaging the disciple again.

“Lady Jing, we better leave. Don’t worry about that. It’s not like they can die.” Sheng Zhiyi and Sheng Zhibai were extremely anxious, urging Jing Mumu to leave. If it were not for Ye Kai’s damned order, coupled with how great elder Xue was watching from outside the formation, they would have never bothered with Jing Mumu at all.

“You should go. I still don’t want to leave yet,” Jing Mumu replied calmly. She looked around the battlefield before directing her gaze towards the spring that produced Taiji spiritual Qi from time to time. Immediately, a strange light flashed through her eyes.
