Chaotic Sword God

Chapter 4007: The Taiji Heaven

Afterwards, the six other souls all gathered around the Eternal Peace Daemon Exalt as they rubbed their hands enthusiastically, urging him on excitedly and eagerly.

After a period of rest, the Eternal Peace Daemon Exalt began to use his innate ability a second time, forcefully extracting another wisp from the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy’s soul.

The wisp was still at the strength of a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal. Afterwards, it was split into eight portions. Jian Chen also received a tiny portion.

Originally, Jian Chen wanted to decline it. He did not want to absorb the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy’s soul, as it came nowhere close to puresouls. He was worried about it leaving behind any latent issues. After all, he was not like the seven experts. They were all once late Immortal Exalts. Their methods were all exceptional, and their abilities were extraordinary. They did not fear these latent issues.

But after further thought, he was unable to resist the temptation in the end. He planned on stopping after absorbing a little. That way, even if there were latent problems, he could control the impact appropriately.

“My primary goal now is to gather the remaining Energy-gathering Divine Mountains. It’ll completely come down to the Energy-gathering Divine Mountains to determine when the seven experts will recover their full strength.”

“As long as I place the seven experts into the bodies of the generals in the Primeval Divine Hall, I don’t have to worry about them betraying me at all. By then, even if I’m up against a heavenly emperor, I’ll be able to fight back. I won’t have to hide away anymore.”

“If the Divine Formation of the Heavens is completed and it can truly demonstrate its power as a Grand Exalt’s formation, I’ll be able to maneuvre around when I face a Grand Exalt even if I can’t defeat them.”

“Though for the complete Divine Formation of the Heavens, I do have enough Immortal Exalts and Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals. I’m just lacking quite a few Immortal Emperors and Immortal Monarchs…” Jian Chen calculated inside.

His current strength had basically been elevated to the maximum already. No matter how he tried in the future, he would struggle to overcome these invisible shackles.

Due to being part of the Martial Soul lineage, he would struggle to reach Immortal Exalt with his comprehension. In other words, no matter what kind of laws he comprehended, the Ninth Heavenly Layer of Immortal Emperor would be his limit.

If it were only the restrictions from the Martial Soul lineage, then that would be fine. When the Martial Soul lineage produced nine successors in its history, the nine successors could work together and force open a crack in the curse that prevented them from reaching Immortal Exalt. That way, even if the Martial Soul lineage could not reach Immortal Exalt in comprehension, their cultivation would not be limited.

However, Jian Chen happened to cultivate the Chaotic Body. The Chaotic Body also struggled to reach Immortal Exalt.

The eighteenth layer was the limit. He had yet to find a way to reach the nineteenth layer that came afterwards.

As a result, the only method that Jian Chen could think of right now to increase his strength was to rely on foreign sources.

“And there’s the mysterious tribulation that the sword spirits are talking about too. I’m not that weak anymore. I’ve basically reached the limit of what I’m capable of. I wonder when this mysterious tribulation is going to happen and what form it will take.” Jian Chen felt a vague sense of danger. He struggled to imagine just how terrifying the mysterious tribulation that even fazed the twin swords would be.

In the past, the twin swords choosing him and the Primeval Divine Hall’s recognition were both connected to this tribulation.

It was as if the tribulation allowed the twin swords and the Primeval Divine Hall to see just how extraordinary he was.

“I need to retrieve the lost Energy-gathering Divine Mountains, but I also need to further strengthen the Divine Formation of the Heavens,” a figure suddenly flashed through Jian Chen’s mind. His gaze began to flicker. He was hesitant.

“Perhaps I need to see if I can rope in an Immortal Emperor. Even though it’s not very likely, I still have to give it a try.” Jian Chen’s gaze gradually became determined. Shortly afterwards, he took out a star chart and gained his bearings before heading off into the sea of stars.

At the same time, he disassembled the four Energy-gathering Divine Mountains in the Primeval Divine Hall again. He continued to use three Energy-gathering Divine Mountains to gather spiritual Qi from areas far away from the Primeval Divine Hall. He kept the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain from the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens on hand. He would sense it every now and then, searching for the other divine mountains.

In an unknown space in the Immortals’ World, a colossal chessboard replaced the surrounding stars. This was the match between the Heavenly Talisman Venerable and the Wicked Immortal Elder. It seemed like a game of chess, but it was another form of intense conflict. The two of them were evenly matched.

The space outside the Reverent Observance Heaven would split open from time to time, forming a terrifying crack that stretched across the entire place. At the same time, powerful presences would emerge from inside, leaving the countless cultivators of the Reverent Observance Heaven in fright.

This was the battle between the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor and the Dungeon Demon God. The Dungeon Demon God had specially come for the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor. He wanted to prevent him from obtaining the sovereign god artifact, so the battle between them would not be ending any time soon.

The news that Jian Chen had appeared on the Reverent Observance Heaven spread through the thirty-three heavens in an extremely short time. Many experts across the Immortals’ World all gathered on the Reverent Observance Heaven.

The arrival of these people immediately pushed the number of Immortal Exalts on the Reverent Observance Heaven to a historic high.

“What? The formation in Jian Chen’s possession can even heavily injure the Space-splitting Venerable of the Immortal Sect of Colossal Elephants?”

“The Space-splitting Venerable is a Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, yet even he can’t withstand the formation’s attack. That’s just unbelievable.”

“The worst part of it is that the formation can launch two attacks. That doesn’t match the rumours at all…”

A group of Immortal Exalts, tempted by the sovereign god artifact, had gathered outside the Reverent Observance Heaven. When they received the most recent news, many of their faces changed. They became wary and concerned.

“From what has happened recently, it looks like Jian Chen is nowhere near as easy to deal with as we imagined. If we handle it badly, it might even cost us our lives. Should we continue with this or not?”

“Hehehe, with risk comes reward. Since you want to contend for this opportunity, shouldn’t you bear the risk as well…”

“Whatever, I’m not going to compete with you. You can go fight over it yourselves. Even if this is a tremendous opportunity, you’ll need to be fortunate enough to enjoy it…”

Jian Chen’s feats in battle on the Reverent Observance Heaven had scared off a few Immortal Exalts. Immediately, many of them scattered, backing out of this struggle.

The people who backed out were all relatively weaker. Everyone who remained were the experts.

Some of the experts had already gathered in groups of threes and fives, forming alliances. They contemplated how they would find where Jian Chen was hiding together.

Yet at this moment, the root of it all, Jian Chen, had already arrived on the Taiji Heaven without anyone knowing.

The Taiji Heaven had over twenty peak organisations with Immortal Exalts. However, among these peak organisations, most of them only had early Immortal Exalts. Only a handful possessed mid Immortal Exalts.

The Black Demon Palace was one of the more reputed organisations on the Taiji Heaven. Not only did they have a mid Immortal Exalt, but they had more than just one of them.

On this day, outside the Black Demon Palace, the tremendous presence of a mid Immortal Emperor suddenly appeared, approaching the Black Demon Palace slowly.

The appearance of this presence broke the peace of the Black Demon Palace. The presences of multiple Immortal Emperors erupted from the depths of the Black Demon Palace, rushing over in an overwhelming manner.

“Who dares to infringe on our Black Demon Palace!”

As an elderly voice rang out from the depths of the Black Demon Palace, multiple Immortal Emperors appeared silently, arriving outside the sect formation in a flash.

An old man in cloth robes hovered before these great elders of the Black Demon Palace, radiating with the presence of a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor.

“Sir, who are you? Why are you trying to provoke our Black Demon Palace?” the great elder barked. With a single glance, he recognised that the person before him was not from the Taiji Heaven. After all, he knew all of the Immortal Emperors on the Taiji Heaven. There was no such person like this.

“You’ve misunderstood, fellows. I’ve come with rich gifts to visit the Black Demon Palace. I have no intentions of provocation. If I have caused you any disrespect, please forgive me.” The old man in cloth robes withdrew his presence. He was very polite in demeanor. As he said that, he took out a jade box and slowly passed it towards the great elders of the Black Demon Palace.

The leading great elder accepted the jade box. He glanced at the old man doubtfully before opening the box slowly.

Immediately, bright, hazy light flowed out from the jade box, together with a heavy fragrance.

The great elders of the Black Demon Palace immediately recognised the item. Their faces all changed because it was a high grade God Tier heavenly resource.

Under ordinary circumstances, only Immortal Exalts possessed heavenly resources of such quality. They were the primary people who used them.

The great elders from the Black Demon Palace eased up slightly. They would have to be more than simply sincere for an Immortal Emperor to present them a high grade God Tier heavenly resource as a gift.

“May I ask where you’re from and which organization you originate from, sir?” a great elder of the Black Demon Palace asked. He was clearly more friendly than before.

“I wander the Immortals’ World with no fixed residence. However, I have come to your Black Demon Palace this time because I want to meet with an acquaintance.” The old man in cloth robes smiled gently.

“Oh? And you have an acquaintance in our Black Demon Palace? May I ask who it is?”

“Her name is Xue Shuangyue!” the old man said.

However, when they heard her name, the great elders of the Black Demon Palace’s faces all changed slightly. They furrowed their brows and stared at the old man. They were clearly doubtful.

“Fellow, do you really know elder Xue? In our Black Demon Palace, elder Xue’s status is different from other great elders. If you’re lying through your teeth about this, the consequences will be quite severe,” one of the great elders said sternly.

The old man was unfazed. He clasped his fist. “Please help me pass on a word to fellow Xue. I have something to discuss with her. As for my exact identity, fellow Xue will naturally find out who I am once I meet with her.”

“If that’s the case, then we’ll help you pass on the word. Whether elder Xue wants to meet with you or not is not something we can decide,” said one of the great elders.

Afterwards, the old man was invited into one of the discussion halls of the Black Demon Palace. One of the Immortal Emperor great elders stayed behind to accompany him, while the others all dispersed.
