Chaotic Sword God

Chapter 4012: Searching the Taiji Heaven

Jian Chen used the mask from the Illusionary Daemon race to change his appearance, disguising himself as the same old man who originally entered the Black Demon Palace. Afterwards, he swaggered out of the hall with Xue Shuangyue.

Xue Shuangyue was in low spirits. She gazed at the beautiful landscape in the surroundings. A sense of reluctance swelled up in the depths of her heart.

From the depths of the Black Demon Palace, the senses of souls from a few great elders lingered outside the discussion hall the entire time, paying close attention to Xue Shuangyue’s safety.

When Xue Shuangyue emerged from the hall, they immediately noticed that something was slightly off with her expression.

“Elder Xue, is there anything you need our assistance with?” The great elders immediately appeared before Xue Shuangyue. When they glanced past Jian Chen on the side, there was clearly a hint of caution.

Xue Shuangyue glanced past the great elders in front of her slowly before bowing towards them deeply. She said softly, “Elders, the Black Demon Palace will be in your care from now onwards.”

“Elder Xue, w-what do you mean by that?” The great elders leapt in fright from Xue Shuangyue’s actions. All of them were at a loss as for what to do.

“I will be leaving the Black Demon Palace, so I won’t be able to serve alongside you anymore,” Xue Shuangyue said softly.

“What? You’re leaving the Black Demon Palace?” The great elders looked at one another. They were filled with doubt and confusion.

Xue Shuangyue said nothing more. She stared at the landscape of the Black Demon Palace emotionally one last time before leaving with Jian Chen without looking back.

The great elders looked at one another outside the discussion hall. They were stumped by Xue Shuangyue’s sudden decision.

“What’s happened with elder Xue?”

“I don’t know. I just feel like she’s being rather strange.”

“And what does she mean by leaving the Black Demon Palace? Even if she has something important to tend to, she can just leave temporarily. There’s no need to do this.”

Watching Xue Shuangyue leave, the great elders all muttered to themselves. They all felt like something was off, but no one was bold enough to cause problems for Xue Shuangyue in the Black Demon Palace.

However, right as they hesitated over whether they should chase her and get to the bottom of this, a long, gentle sigh rang out from behind them.

The sudden voice took the great elders by surprise, as none of them had sensed the presence of someone else. They immediately looked back, only to see the Black Heaven Master standing there silently, watching Xue Shuangyue leave with a very lonely expression.

“Greetings, ancestor!” The faces of the great elders of the Black Demon Palace changed slightly. They bowed in a hurry, showing great respect.

“Go back to doing what you should be doing. Shuangyue’s matters are no longer for you to worry about.” The Black Heaven Master waved his hand at them. He was in a sullen mood.

“May we ask what has happened with elder Xue?” A great elder mustered the courage to ask.

“What else could have happened? She’s clearly been abducted…”

“What? A-a-abducted?” When they heard that, the great elders were all dumbfounded.

“From this moment, Xue Shuangyue’s name is to be formally removed from our Black Demon Palace. She is no longer a member of the Black Demon Palace. Let the entire Taiji Heaven know about this…”

......

…

“What do you plan on doing next?”

After leaving the Black Demon Palace, Xue Shuangyue and Jian Chen flew together, speeding through an unknown region of the Taiji Heaven. She looked towards Jian Chen and asked.

From the moment she left the Black Demon Palace, she was no longer Xue Shuangyue. She had recovered her past identity, disciple Xue Ji of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens!

However, she was not a regular disciple but a great elder of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens!

“There’s no rush. Let’s go for a stroll around the Taiji Heaven first.” Jian Chen took out the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain that had shrunk to a fraction of its original size. Whenever he passed a region, he would stop and sense around.

“What are you doing?” Seeing how Jian Chen would stop every now and then, Xue Ji could not help but stare at the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain in Jian Chen’s hand curiously.

As a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor, she had an extremely sturdy mind. In such a short amount of time, she had already recovered from her sorrow of leaving the Black Demon Palace, re-embracing her new identity.

Jian Chen opened his hand and showed the fist-sized Energy-gathering Divine Mountain to Xue Ji. “Do you know why I was willing to take on such a huge risk to retrieve this Energy-gathering Divine Mountain? This Energy-gathering Divine Mountain is different from the others. Through it, I can sense the lost divine mountains.”

“However, its range is limited. As a result, I plan on visiting each region of the Taiji Heaven first to carry out a close search.”

“The Energy-gathering Divine Mountains can only gather spiritual Qi. Even if you assemble all the lost Energy-gathering Divine Mountains, they can’t be used against any experts. Are they really that important?” Xue Ji asked in confusion.

“They are no less important than the Divine Formation of the Heavens. It will directly impact whether we can return to the ancestral grounds of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens,” Jian Chen said without giving too much of an explanation.

Xue Ji became even more confused, but she understood that Jian Chen had quite a few secrets. He was trying his hardest to hide most of them, refusing to tell her, which was why she did not ask any more about it as someone sensible.

She only cared about one thing. As long as Jian Chen truly was the person who brought hope to the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, that was enough. Everything else did not matter.

“You’re more familiar with the Taiji Heaven than me, so I’ll have to trouble you with serving as my guide during the time we spend on the Taiji Heaven. I can also learn some more detailed information from you. Once we leave the Taiji Heaven, you can enter the sovereign god artifact to cultivate.”

“Apart from when I need the Divine Formation of the Heavens against powerful opponents, I will handle all other battles. You won’t need to do anything.” As Jian Chen said that, he had already stowed away the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain, proceeding to the next destination with Xue Shuangyue.

Xue Ji served her role as a guide properly. Along the way, she introduced the various organisations of different sizes that stood on the Taiji Heaven and personally led the way for Jian Chen.

She was an Immortal Emperor who had spent a great deal of time cultivating on the Taiji Heaven after all. Xue Ji’s understanding of the Taiji Heaven could not be compared to Jian Chen’s crude investigations. As a result, Xue Ji’s explanations on the side had saved Jian Chen a lot of effort.

The Taiji Heaven was extremely vast, even larger than any of the planes in the Saints’ World. It was equivalent to two whole planes. When it came to some of the weaker cultivators, even if they had several tens of thousand years, they would probably struggle to traverse the entire heaven.

However, to Jian Chen and Xue Ji who were already Immortal Emperors, crossing through the Taiji Heaven was as simple as it could get. They only needed to take a casual step to travel several million kilometres.

Afterwards, Jian Chen carried out a fine search on the Taiji Heaven. He did not even spare any barren wilderness that no one would normally set foot in. As for some of the peak organisations on the Taiji Heaven, he would intentionally pause near them before sensing for Energy-gathering Divine Mountains while maintaining his distance from the formations. After all, he wanted to avoid alerting their experts.
