Chapter 4015: Participating in the Competition

“A fair competition? In what way is it fair?” Jian Chen casually asked.

“Immortal Monarchs, Immortal Emperors, and Immortal Exalts can’t participate. Only cultivators beneath Immortal Monarch can enter the Taiji mountain range to compete against one another freely.”

“There are so many realms beneath Immortal Monarch. Human Immortals, Earthen Immortals, Heavenly Immortals, Golden Immortals, Daluo Golden Immortals, Xuan Immortals, and Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals. Don’t tell me there aren’t any restrictions on these cultivation realms?” Jian Chen shook his head with a gentle smile. He felt like this so-called fairness was rather hilarious.

Xue Ji sighed gently. There was a hint of helplessness in her voice. “Actually, forbidding Immortal Monarchs and beyond from interfering is already the greatest form of fairness they can achieve. Otherwise, if you have Immortal Emperors or even Immortal Exalts personally harvesting Taiji spiritual Qi en masse, the smaller organisations on the Taiji Heaven won’t be able to get involved at all. The Taiji spiritual Qi might be useless to these experts, but it is the best treasure for nurturing the mainstay of their organisations. Without any rules, Immortal Exalts will act without any regard. In the end, it will devolve into a situation where several peak organisations monopolise the entire Taiji mountain range.”

At this moment, figures had already begun surging in the distance. Immortal Emperors had already arrived near the Taiji mountain range. They all carried spatial god artifacts. With a toss, they immediately released their disciples from them.

In a short moment, over fifty Immortal Emperors had gathered around the Taiji mountain range. They were not just from the peak organisations but also many first-rate organisations based on the Taiji Heaven.

On top of that, the number of people continued to increase.

A place for teleportation had even been set out in the outskirts of the Taiji mountain range. Many ancient teleportation formations were assembled there. Too much time had passed since they were last used, so the white jade used to form the floor had already become covered by a thick layer of fallen leaves.

But before long, several of these teleportation formations erupted with blinding light simultaneously. Powerful spiritual Qi turned into a storm that unfurled, blowing the thick layer of fallen leaves into the sky before ripping them to shreds.

After the light subsided, numerous Immortal Monarchs appeared on the teleportation formation!

They came from slightly weaker organisations. Because they did not have any Immortal Emperors, they could only travel here through teleportation formations.

“Elder Xue, I didn’t expect to see you here.” At this moment, a ruddy old man silently appeared a hundred metres away from Jian Chen and Xue Ji. His gaze towards Xue Ji was filled with mixed emotions, as well as a hint of confusion.

“ELder Xue, I heard you left the Black Demon Palace? Could you tell me what happened?” the old man continued to ask. His face was filled with pity and concern.

“This is great elder Ye. He’s an Eighth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor, one of the well-respected seniors in the Black Demon Palace.” Xue Ji actively introduced him to Jian Chen before looking at him and saying, “Great elder Ye, are you personally leading the disciples here to compete for the Taiji spiritual Qi?”

The old man called great elder Ye sighed gently. “Originally, this was not something that I should have concerned myself with, but with your departure, our Black Demon Palace is down a great elder, which is quite a large loss in strength. As a result, it had to be me to watch over the situation here, just in case those old rivals of ours try to bully our disciples.”

“Thank you for your efforts, great elder Ye.” Xue Ji bowed deeply towards him.

“Elder Xue, your gesture is too great for me to accept.” Great elder Ye dodged it quickly. Afterwards, he tried to convince her to stay. “Elder Xue, the Black Demon Palace is your home. Can you really bear to part with it like this?”

Xue Ji’s gaze was determined. She said firmly, “Great elder Ye, let’s not talk about this, or it might lead to the Black Demon Palace’s destruction.”

“What? The sect’s destruction? Elder Xue, this…” Great elder Ye was quite frightened by her statement. He stared at Xue Ji with surprise and uncertainty. He struggled to imagine just what kind of enemy could actually force the Black Demon Palace into a situation like that.

After all, in great elder Ye’s eyes, the Black Demon Palace was a peak organisation with three Immortal Exalts. The strongest of them, the Black Heaven Master, was a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt. An organisation like that had quite the reputation across the entire Immortals’ World. It was not an organisation that anyone could bully.

Then great elder Ye looked at Jian Chen beside Xue Ji. Right when he wanted to ask something, Jian Chen spoke up before he could say anything, “Fellow Ye, there are some matters that are inconvenient to discuss at this moment in time. If you really want to know the reason why fellow Xue has left the Black Demon Palace, you will naturally find out about the truth soon.”

At this moment, a tremendous formation unfurled in the surroundings, radiating with a terrifying pressure that startled the Immortal Emperors. It immediately covered the entire Taiji mountain range.

Some of the Immortal Emperors who were originally in the region covered by the formation were also thrown back far away.

Jian Chen, Xue Ji, and elder Ye were no exception. They were all pushed to the outskirts of the Taiji mountain range by the formation’s power.

From the moment the formation took shape, great elder Ye was forced to clasp his fist towards Xue Ji and bid farewell. The competition for the Taiji spiritual Qi was about to begin. There were many matters that he had to go and arrange.

“This formation is not weak. It should be able to barely block the attacks of Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts.” Jian Chen studied the formation before his eyes and could not help but praise it.

“This formation was assembled by all the peak organisations on our Taiji Heaven. We use the formation to divide and separate the regions. This formation ensures the fairness of the competition.” Xue Ji stared into the distance and said, “Let’s go and keep searching the Taiji Heaven.”

“Wait. Let’s not leave in such a hurry.” Jian Chen stopped Xue Ji who was about to leave. He stared at the Taiji mountain range enveloped by the formation. There was a hint of interest on his face.

Xue Ji furrowed her brows at this sight. “Don’t tell me you want to send in those disciples from the sect to compete for the Taiji spiritual Qi? Even if you ignore the issue that their legacy might not be complete and they will struggle against the disciples of these peak organisations, exposing them will only increase the risk of exposing yourself.”

“I obviously won’t get the disciples in the sect to participate in this. They are indeed quite a fair bit off from the disciples of peak organisations with complete legacies.” After saying that, Jian Chen waved his hand, and the beautiful Jing Mumu in a white dress appeared beside him.

“This is my disciple, Jing Mumu. She just happens to be in need of Taiji spiritual Qi, so I plan on letting her compete for it.” Jian Chen introduced her to Xue Ji. Jing Mumu bowed extremely politely, showing great respect.

“A peak Xuan Immortal? Her cultivation is too weak. If she doesn’t have a powerful background supporting her, even if she comes across Taiji spiritual Qi by luck, she’ll have it taken from her before she can even absorb it.” Xue Ji shook her head gently. She was not very confident in Jing Mumu.

“You don’t have to worry about that. I’m very confident in this disciple of mine. You only need to make some arrangements so that she can enter the Taiji mountain range. She just happens to be in need of the Taiji spiritual Qi produced here,” said Jian Chen.

“Alright, then I’ll go and make arrangements.” Xue Ji turned around and left.
