Chaotic Sword God

Chapter 4011: Another Recruited

As she listened to Jian Chen’s introduction of the Divine Formation of the Heavens, a strange colour flashed through Xue Shuangyue’s eyes.

She had obviously heard of the reputed Divine Formation of the Heavens before. Now that the declining Sword Sect of Violet Heavens possessed such a profound formation, she was filled with delight.

“Greetings, sect master!”

At this moment, several Immortal Emperors in the distance sensed Xue Shuangyue’s presence and gathered over. Afterwards, they bowed towards Jian Chen, showing great respect.

“Hmm? Is this another new fellow joining us? Sect master, why don’t you introduce her to us?” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s voice rang out. A dark cloud surged in the surroundings, rapidly condensing into a middle-aged man of a particularly tall and large stature.

The Immortal Devouring Orchid also gathered over. It shrank to a fraction of its original size, wrapping around Jian Chen’s wrist intimately like a blade of grass. It acted like it was a bracelet.

Jian Chen gave a simple introduction of Xue Shuangyue to everyone before telling her, “They are all experts of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens right now. They are all working for the sect.”

“Senior, you’re a Demon Exalt. Why do you obey Jian Chen who’s only an Immortal Emperor?” Xue Shuangyue looked at the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt. Clearly, she was a little cautious of him.

“Hehehehe, little girl, the sect master’s cultivation might not be high, but his methods are beyond imagination. Being able to serve right beside him is my greatest honour.” The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt let out a strange laugh.

“Even the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor has seen the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt. The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt is completely trustworthy,” Jian Chen added at an appropriate time. 一听到乱星天帝，雪霜月顿时为之动容，心中已经意识到如千魂魔尊这样的强者肯屈尊于剑尘麾下，那必然是乱星天帝的功劳。

When she heard him mention the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor, Xue Shuangyue’s expression changed. She had already assumed that an expert like the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt was willing to serve under Jian Chen due to the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor.

As for what the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt said, she only treated it as making conversation.

After all, in her eyes, Jian Chen simply was not Daowei Chengqing at the end of the day. No matter how extraordinary he was, he definitely could not make a Demon Exalt become his follower with the strength of an Immortal Emperor.

Afterwards, Xue Shuangyue looked at the Immortal Devouring Orchid on Jian Chen’s wrist. When she sensed the Immortal Devouring Orchid’s presence as an Immortal Exalt, she was shocked once again.

This time, the shock she felt was even stronger than when she saw how obedient the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt was.

That was because she could tell the Immortal Devouring Orchid’s affection and intimacy with Jian Chen could not be faked.

A mighty Immortal Exalt plant actually demonstrated such behaviour towards a measly Immortal Emperor. Xue Shuangyue basically found that inconceivable.

“So it’s all true,” Xue Shuangyue murmured. She thought of the various rumours in the Immortals’ World regarding Jian Chen.

Rumours were just rumours at the end of the day. Only when she personally entered the Primeval Divine Hall did she confirm them.

After leaving the Primeval Divine Hall, Xue Shuangyue seemed to become quite unsettled. Her gaze constantly drifted away as her expression changed time and time again.

In the Primeval Divine Hall, she witnessed the changes of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. She saw all those disciples cultivating and the source of confidence for the sect.

Without any exaggeration, she would have never expected the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens to change so much.

She also saw a glimmer of hope towards the restoration of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.

The Black Heaven Master gazed deeply at Xue Shuangyue. “Shuangyue, I don’t know what you saw, nor do I want to know. I only want to tell you that even if the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens has decent foundations and has a method to threaten Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts, that’s still not enough for self-preservation. If you rashly join the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens and some accidents occur in the future, even I will be powerless.”

“At the same time, you have to consider for Lin’er.”

When she heard him mention Lin’er, Xue Shuangyue shuddered violently, and her expression rapidly changed. A hint of pain appeared in her eyes.

Jian Chen also pulled his gaze back. There was a hint of reluctance and hesitation.

Before he came to the Black Demon Palace, he had grasped enough information. He knew that the Black Heaven Master and Xue Shuangyue had a daughter called Zhou Lin. She had already reached Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal.

In reality, if it were not for the circumstances, he really did not want to rope in some former members of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens at a time like this. After all, it would only drag these former members out of their current safety back into danger. It could even claim their lives.

But in order to strengthen the Divine Formation of the Heavens as quickly as possible, he was forced to do so.

Now, the Divine Formation of the Heavens had already become the greatest hope for restoring the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens to its former glory. Only by making the formation stronger would he have the confidence to bring the disciples of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens back to the Reverent Observance Heaven, defending against all enemies.

The Divine Formation of the Heavens was the easiest method to reach the level of Grand Exalts. In this aspect, it even surpassed the three sovereign god artifacts.

After thinking about it, Jian Chen still ended up saying, “Think about it closely. If you have any qualms, you can choose to remain in the Black Demon Palace. I will stay on the Taiji Heaven for three days. After these three days, I will come again.”

After saying that, Jian Chen clasped his fist towards the Black Heaven Master and was about to leave.

“Hold on!”

Right when Jian Chen was about to leave the hall, Xue Shuangyue suddenly stopped him. Jian Chen turned around, only to see that the hesitation and struggle originally in Xue Shuangyue’s eyes had already vanished. It was replaced by determination.

“I don’t need three days to consider. I can tell you clearly right now. From this moment onwards, I, Xue Ji, discard my identity as great elder Xue Shuangyue of the Black Demon Palace and formally return to the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.” Xue Shuangyue’s voice was firm, filled with resolve.

“H-have you really thought it through?” On the side, the Black Heaven Master’s face was gloomy. He was dejected. Even when he could forcefully interfere, he did not do that, choosing to let Xue Shuangyue make the decision.

“Dear, do you blame me?” Xue Shuangyue turned her head towards the Black Heaven Master with deep emotions. She was racked with guilt.

The Black Heaven Master shook his head. He gently pulled Xue Shuangyue into his arms and said, “I don’t blame you. As long as you’re happy, I’ll support you in any decision you make.”

“And, after spending all those years with you, how can I not understand your thoughts? Over the years, you’ve never been able to let go of that sect. You were once racked with worry over that sect, but unfortunately, due to your strength and the circumstances, you could not do too much. Now that you finally see a glimmer of hope after all this difficulty, how could you give up on it?”

“I’ve thought about stopping you, but I’m also aware that even if you stayed behind, this will exist as a regret in your heart. Perhaps I would have protected you, but it would also be a source of pain in your heart, blocking your thoughts and your cultivation, making future breakthroughs difficult.”

Xue Shuangyue’s body trembled gently. She said softly, “Jian Chen’s appearance has allowed me to see the hope of restoring the sect, so I can’t let anything happen to him. If he’s lost, the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens will never have a second person with the same capabilities.”

“He is the hope of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, as well as the only sliver of hope that’s appeared across all these years. Since he needs my power, then how can I, Xue Ji, let down the sect over my selfish reasons?”

“Dear, Lin’er will be entirely in your care from now on…”

“If you are able to maintain your safety, please come and visit. The Sword Sect of Violet Heavens is your home. The Black Demon Palace is also your home…”

After a difficult farewell, Xue Ji resolutely chose to leave with Jian Chen. As for the Black Heaven Master, he remained in the Black Demon Palace. To him, the legacy of the Black Demon Palace outweighed all else. Its importance even surpassed his wife.

He needed to watch over the Black Demon Palace!

“Fellow Xue Ji, aren’t you going to visit your daughter?” Right before departing, Jian Chen asked Xue Ji in concern.

“Lin’er is currently serving a post in the Observance Heaven City,” said Xue Ji.

Jian Chen was surprised. To serve a post in the Observance Heaven City as a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal, she must have been one of the fifty thousand soldiers. She was a part of the Divine Formation of the Heavens in the Observance Heaven City.

That was not a position that any person could earn. After all, even prodigies from courts of heaven would try and earn posts in the Observance Heaven City. As a result, whether it were posts for Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortals or Immortal Monarchs, they were all occupied by prodigies among prodigies.
