Chaotic Sword God

Chapter 3941: Hunting Down Clear and Cloudy

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy did not continue his pursuit, as he had already witnessed Jian Chen’s ability to hide. The only way to capture him was to maintain a firm grasp over him before his traces had vanished completely.

Otherwise, once he was gone, finding him again was as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack.

After choosing the wrong path twice in a row, that was enough time for him to escape very far away.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy fumed inside. He was a peak Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt. His abilities were extraordinary, but unfortunately, he was in the special environment of the Skyscraping World. Under the restrictions of the formations and the environment, many of his abilities were affected. Otherwise, an Immortal Emperor would have never been able to slip away right under his watch.

At this moment, the sky in the Skyscraping World changed again. Starlight glimmered, forming an impressive star chart. The tremendous pressure of a peak formation permeated every inch of space in the Skyscraping World.

Whenever the starry sky changed, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy felt like he was being watched. Even with his cultivation and comprehension, he was powerless over this feeling.

The Skyscraping World was a miniature world, but it could also be treated as a formation that possessed all sorts of functions. Upon entering the Skyscraping World, it was equivalent to entering a series of peak formations. There was obviously nowhere for him to hide.

At this moment, a huge sense of danger suddenly overwhelmed him, which made the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy narrow his eyes. Bone-chilling coldness filled his entire heart.

He had already forgotten just how many years it had been since he last felt this, as there were only so many people in the Immortals’ World who could give him this feeling.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy suddenly looked behind him. The space there cracked open and powerful sword intent surged out, filling the entire space like the ruler of the world had descended.

Gazing at the crack, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy shivered inside. Even he did not have the ability to tear open the space of the Skyscraping World.

In the next moment, an ancient sword shot out from the crack. Its glow seemed to possess the endless stars, directly slashing down at the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy with terrifying power.

“T-this is the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star!” the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy could not help but cry out. He immediately became grim. He did not have the courage to receive the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star’s attack at all. With a thought, the laws in the surroundings wove together, forming huge hands that slammed against the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star. Meanwhile, he rapidly retreated, dodging the attack from the sword.

Immediately, energy surged through the surroundings. The laws of a late Immortal Exalt illuminated the space with blinding light.

But in the next moment, as the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star slashed down, the hands condensed from the laws all shattered, having been crushed by an immense power inside the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy dodged the attack, but a streak of light brushed past him. Extending down from his left ear, his entire body seemed to be sliced apart. His entire left arm, the left side of his chest, the left side of his abdomen, and half of his left leg vanished. It had all been pulverised by the power of the sovereign god artifact.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy’s heart turned completely cold. The Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star from the Heavenly Star Palace was not damaged. It was a sovereign god artifact in perfect shape. Furthermore, he even sensed a power from the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor inside the sovereign god artifact. Even a peak Seventh Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt like him was forced to avoid a sovereign god artifact like this.

“Fortunately, it’s just a sovereign god artifact without someone controlling it. If it were in the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor’s hands, then I’d truly be going nowhere.” The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy was relieved inside. Before the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star could launch a second attack, he vanished into the space there, having used a secret technique to escape.

Right after the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy had left, Xing Caijian appeared. Several dozen Immortal Exalts tailed behind her.

“W-what is this god artifact… How is it so terrifying…”

“A sovereign god artifact, it’s definitely a sovereign god artifact. Don’t tell me it’s the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star from the Heavenly Star Palace…”

......

…

The Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star hovered mid-air, allowing all of the Immortal Exalts to see it. The immense pressure it radiated shocked everyone present.

At that moment, all of the Immortal Exalts looked at Xing Caijian with deep fear and reverence.

Before this, they were only wary of her identity and background. If those were set aside, they would not take her seriously at all. A Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Emperor was nothing in many of their eyes.

Only at this moment, after learning about the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star’s existence, did they truly begin to fear and revere Xing Caijian.

At this moment, the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star withdrew its pressure. All of its glow faded away before returning to Xing Caijian. Xing Caijian closed her eyes gently as if she was communicating with the artifact spirit of the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star.

“Go, you can’t let this person escape!” Suddenly, Xing Caijian opened her eyes and used the secret technique to control the stellar formation again. With the assistance of the formation that covered every inch of space inside the Skyscraping World, she located the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy with ease. Immediately, she raced off in pursuit with the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star in her arms.

At the same time, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy’s heart sank, having just stopped recently. He never expected Xing Caijian to be so persistent, chasing after him relentlessly. She had already done this several times now.

However, when he thought of the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy did not have the courage to confront her. The power of a complete sovereign god artifact could not be compared to a damaged sovereign god artifact.

In particular, the sovereign god artifact even contained the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor’s power, which made it even more unstoppable.

With a flash, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy sped off, travelling far away from here.

A while later, Xing Caijian appeared where the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy had previously stopped. Her face was ugly.

“Senior heavenly star, please help me kill this person!” Suddenly, Xing Caijian bowed deeply towards the Divine Sword of Heavenly Star and pleaded with it.

“My responsibility is to ensure your safety,” the artifact spirit of the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star communicated. Only Xing Caijian could hear it.

“If this expert survives, he… will be very dangerous… There are some secrets that still cannot be divulged…” Xing Caijian said to the artifact spirit of the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star. She was stern. She did not know whether the expert had discovered the existence of the twin swords, but that was not something she could gamble on. As such, this expert had to die!

Swish!

In the next moment, the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star turned into a streak of light and pierced the space, vanishing instantly.

Xing Caijian’s strength was completely insufficient to control a sovereign god artifact, so the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star was entirely under the artifact spirit’s control.

Elsewhere, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy had eased up slightly when he sensed something. His expression immediately changed drastically, fleeing once again without any hesitation.

Shortly afterwards, the space cracked open, and the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star flew out. The power of the stars manifested around it, chasing after the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy relentlessly with terrifying and chilling power.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy fled urgently, but he was extremely frustrated. Against a sovereign god artifact without someone controlling it, even if he was not its opponent, he would not be as powerless as right now.

Unfortunately, the Skyscraping World restrained him. He had only projected his soul over, without his body. He could not unleash his full strength. He could not use the powerful secret techniques that required some of his cultivation.

On the other hand, as a sovereign god artifact, the quality of the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star had already surpassed the formations of the Skyscraping World. The formations of the Skyscraping World were completely unable to restrain it.

Under these influences, the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy virtually could not oppose the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star at all.

The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy fled urgently up ahead. Restrained by the environment, he could not get faster. Meanwhile, the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star tore through space and pursued relentlessly behind him.

The distance between them rapidly reduced at an irreversible pace.

It had only taken five seconds for the Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star to catch up to the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy.

Seeing how he could not escape, determination filled the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy’s eyes. He bellowed out, “Ancient secret technique, Soul and Heaven as One!”

In the next moment, a mighty power of the soul surged violently. The space where the Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy resided immediately plunged into darkness.

Swish! The Divine Sword of the Heavenly Star shot through the darkness with great might, seemingly cutting the space in half. The Ancestor of the Clear and Cloudy who resided there turned and scattered as dust, left without any remains.
